RUSH: We played for you a sound bite of Melissa Harris-Perry. Melissa Harris-Perry is a professor at Tulane. She has a show at PMSNBC. She is a standard-issue leftist. There is nothing extraordinary about her, and by that I mean she’s not extreme; she’s not way, way far out there. She is a mainstream American liberal today. Folks, that’s very important. This is the woman who thinks that the whole notion that kids belong to their parents is outdated. That idea is cockamamie.

The government is really the parent.

My point is she’s out denying that she said it today. While saying the same thing, she’s out denying it. She’s trying to laugh it off and say that people like me only heard what we wanted to hear. But, in denying it, she’s saying it again. I’m not gonna play her denials or anything. I’m not gonna go anywhere like that. Just trust me. She’s out denying it and trying to make fun of or criticize the people who interpreted her literally, I mean, she said what she said.

Well, there’s a companion story with this now that makes my point that she is not out of the mainstream. This woman who thinks that your kids are not yours is standard-issue liberal. Gosh, if I could just make people see it! Look, I admit to you: It is frustrating, folks, ’cause it’s so easy to understand who these people are. They’re not a mystery. They’ve just done such a good job of making people think they are what they’re not.

They are the opposite of what they claim to be.

This woman who thinks that your kids aren’t yours? That’s standard. That’s Marx. That’s what liberalism, leftism, socialism has always meant. There’s nothing new about it. The only thing new is that people like her are saying it publicly as though it’s just common sense. It’s why they don’t like school choice! You don’t have a say-so where your kids go to school. It’s not your right to determine where your kids go to school! It’s not your responsibility. It’s all of ours, it’s the state’s, and anything that promotes parental choice…

Why do you think parents are not to be told when their daughters have an abortion? Why do you think parents are not to be given any say-so in that? It’s because they’re not your kids! That’s what that’s always meant. So many people think that that’s a far-out, extremist idea — you know, only the real lollapalosers believe that — and it’s mainstream. I know that’s not what the people of this country believe. I know people voting Democrat don’t think that.

Your common, ordinary, everyday Democrat dupe, useful idiot voter doesn’t… Now, there I’ve gone insulting them. But they don’t believe that. They think their kids are their kids. Some of ’em would love to get rid of ’em, but we’ve not gone to the dark side in this country to the extent that people don’t think their kids are theirs. But it is the mainstream liberal view, and if I could just — all of us, if we could just — somehow convey to people who these people really are…

By the way, there are some very intelligent, bright people who do not understand this. Here’s Melissa Harris-Perry’s statement: “We do live in a nation where slaveholders took the infants from the arms of my foremothers and sold them for their own profit. We do live in a nation where the government snatched American Indian children from their families and ‘re-educated’ them by forbidding them to speak their language and practice their traditions. But that is not what I was talking about, and you know it.”

It was!

So in denying what she said, she said it again. Here is what she originally said…

HARRIS-PERRY: We have never invested as much in public education as we should have because we’ve always had kind of a private notion of children: Your kid is yours and totally your responsibility. We haven’t had a very collective notion of these are our children. So part of it is we have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents, or kids belong to their families, and recognize that kids belong to whole communities. Once it’s everybody’s responsibility, and not just the household’s, then we start making better investments.

RUSH: Right. So we’ve gotta get rid of this idea that your family is yours, or your kids are yours. They’re everybody’s. We’re all in this together, and you don’t own them. So she issues a statement: “We do live in a nation where slaveholders took the infants from the arms of my foremothers and sold them for their own profit. We do live in a nation where the government snatched American Indian children from their families and ‘re-educated’ them by forbidding them to speak their language and practice their traditions. But that is not what I was talking about, and you know it.”

Now, here’s a little story. On the surface, it has nothing to do with what you just heard, but it has everything to do with it. Cybercast News Service: “In the message he issued along with his budget proposal on Wednesday morning, President Barack Obama said he wants to see four-year-old children in the United States enrolled in public schools.” Babies, folks. Four year olds in public schools. The president said “America needs to start enrolling four-year-olds to make sure the children are ‘better prepared for the demands of the global economy’ and to help parents save on ‘child-care costs.'”

So we’ve got to get your kids out of your house now at age four and into the public schools, under the guise of relieving you of the oppressive financial pressure. The costs of raising your child. We’re gonna take that kid away. We’re gonna put the kid in public school at age four — your baby, at age four — so that you get relief on the costs. Now, you couple that with Melissa Harris-Perry, and you tell me that these people are not saying what she is saying, and they don’t believe what she believes.

Obama clearly is of the same school of thought that she is. That the idea that children are part of finite families and that children belong to their parents. “Well, we gotta disabuse people of that. Get rid of that idea.” And Mrs. Clinton, by the way, It Takes a Village. This is mainstream American Democrat Party thought, folks.

“After saying the United States needs to ‘equip our citizens with the skills and training’ to fill jobs in manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, Obama said, ‘And that has to start at the earliest possible age.'” You know, like the ChiComs do. They go in and take children away from their homes as babies to train them for the Olympics, or to train them for other things. The president said that not enough American four-year-olds are in school. Too few four-year-olds are enrolled in school. In other words, too many four-year-olds are at home with their parents.

So Melissa Harris-Perry, she’s not off the reservation. She’s not some loon, wacko left extremist. She is mainstream Democrat thought, and she’s being paid big bucks at Tulane to teach your kids, her students, this same gobbledygook. And Columbia University just hired convicted terrorist, right? Yeah, Weather Underground, Kathy Boudin. She’s a murderer.

By the way, there is some common sense. A police organization has written a letter to the president of Columbia and said, “Why the hell did you hire this person?” Ought it not be the onus of the university to explain this kind of a hire? You want to hire a murderer and a terrorist and a Weather Underground veteran to be a distinguished professor at Columbia? So it’s mainstream, folks. And I’m telling you, I’m being optimistic on this. I do not believe that a majority of thought in this country agrees with Melissa Harris-Perry. I do not believe that the majority opinion is that kids don’t belong to their parents.

Do you know anybody who thinks that? Do you in your neighborhood? Of course we know Hillary. Do you know anybody in your neighborhood who believes this? Do you know anybody you work with who believes this? Now, they probably are there, and you just haven’t gotten that out of ’em, and depending on where you work, there probably are people who think that. But you don’t know it. But do you think the majority of people in this country, the majority of parents really think that their kids aren’t theirs? Do you think the majority of parents think that kids ought to be enrolled in public school at age four so they can save expenses? This is really hideous stuff, but it is what goes as mainstream thinking in the Democrat Party.
