RUSH: Are we about ready to go here? Yeah, yeah, good. Okay, hi, folks, how are you? It’s the EIB Network and the Rush Limbaugh program, and we are at 800-282-2882. Our e-mail address if you want to be on the pr — well, well, well, the phone numbers if you want to be on the program. The e-mail address is if you hope that I see what you send and then comment on it. And that is ElRushbo@eibnet.com.

I hope everybody had a good weekend. One of the things I find during campaigns is that on weekends we’re not here, and there’s two days of rampant media corruption with no real counterweight to it. So Mondays we refocus everybody. Monday we keep people bucked up. That’s with a “B.” Mondays we make sure that you don’t get lackadaisical and so forth. So that’s what a large part of today is gonna be.

Did you see, our old buddy Noel Sheppard at NewsBusters had this over the weekend: “CNN political reporter Peter Hamby sent an Obama campaign donation request form to his Twitter followers.” I got it right here. Peter Hamby: “Wisconsin officially a battleground: President Obama going to Milwaukee next weekend,” and then there’s a donor form. Well, we’re not surprised. It’s blatant now. Here’s a CNN reporter fundraising for President Obama. It’s right here. It’s an Obama-Biden form, a smiling picture of Obama there, and the link goes to a donation page to join Obama at a fundraiser in Milwaukee on Saturday, September 22nd. That follows a big fundraising party with Jay-Z and Beyonce tomorrow and an appearance on Letterman tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the protests, even the regime says that the protests at our installations overseas are going to be prolonged, and they are going to increase. The regime actually said this. I don’t know if you call it corruption. It’s just straight flat-out…

(interruption)

What? Well, they’re leveling off, but they’re gonna continue. They’re not gonna end any time soon. Because, you know, the filmmaker that’s all spontaneous. I’m not asking you what you believe. I’m telling you what’s happening out there. I’m telling you what the regime is seeing, or, rather, what they’re saying. But since it’s Monday, some things I need to remind you of, folks. Mitt Romney has done nothing to harm the US economy. Obama, on the other hand, is at war with the US economy. Mitt Romney has done nothing to harm the middle class. Obama is destroying it.

Mitt Romney has done nothing to harm education. Obama has defunded school choice in Washington, DC. He has refused to speak out against the striking teachers in Chicago. That’s going into its second week now. And now the media, and others, “Why doesn’t he speak out? Why isn’t he speaking out?” I’ll tell you. It’s because…

(interruption)

No, no. I boxed him out. It’s a victory for the EIB Network. On day two or three of this strike, whenever it was, I predicted that he would go… Look, the union people are his buddies, big donors, Chicago, Rahm Emanuel, come on, anybody believe these people are out to hurt Obama? No way.

So I predicted loudly and clearly, a number of times, that this thing was a setup — or could be, might be a setup — so Obama could go in and rescue everybody. The children, the schools, school lunch, school breakfast, school dinner, school snacks. He’d save the day, get the teachers their raise (but not as much as they wanted), and bail out Rahm Emanuel. He’d make it look like Obama had the magic from 2008 and can solve anything!

I made the prediction, and of course the media — dutifully, predictably — fell right in line. “That’s crazy! Limbaugh’s wrong. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Obama would never politicize this. Why, this is a powder keg! This is the last thing Obama wants.” I marveled and I laughed as the media told me, and their audiences, that I was wrong, that I didn’t know what I was talking about.

But in the process, we actually ran a little contest here for callers. “Why do I really do this?” I said if somebody could tell me, we’ll give you a prize. I was willing, on this one occasion — as the magician — to give up the trick. And a caller got it. He said, “Rush, it’s very simple. By you predicting Obama will do it, it lessens the likelihood that he will do it, because he doesn’t want you to look like you know what you’re talking about. He doesn’t want you to be correct.”

So Obama has defunded school choice in Washington.

He hasn’t spoken up about the teachers strike — and I just told you why.

Romney, by the way, hasn’t done anything to harm General Motors or Chrysler. Obama destroys the investors and the bondholders, including the pension funds. He ripped off the taxpayers for tens of billions of dollars. Romney has done none of this. By the way: “General Motors Pushing US to Sell Stake — The Treasury Department is resisting General Motors’ push for the government to sell off its stake…” General Motors wants the government out of GM, and the regime is saying no. Obama is saying, “No, we’re staying in.” General Motors wants ’em out. That’s a story from MarketWatch.

What?

(interruption)

Now?

(interruption)

Right now?

(interruption)

You think we should? Okay, folks. I’m told that there is a press conference now at the White House.

(interruption)

You think I should JIP it? I don’t know how long it’s gonna go. We have a spot break coming up here. When we ever do JIP the guy? All right. Folks, there’s a press conference. Our microphones are always there at the White House. There’s an impromptu press conference at the White House now. President Obama, I guess, is soon to be coming out.

(playing of Obama spoof)

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: El Rushbo, the EIB Network, back now to the impromptu press conference going on, the president at the White House.

(playing of spoof)

RUSH: Obama had an impromptu press conference at the White House. Our microphones were there. President Obama and a willingly compliant, collaborative, corrupt media — as you heard — are making it clear, ladies and gentlemen, that the filmmaker and his YouTube video is solely responsible. Not just for the riots and the assassinations in the Mideast and the attacks on American installations. No! What did we learn today?

We learned just now that the filmmaker is responsible for rising gas prices, that that YouTube video is directly related — according to Obama and what he said Bernanke told him — to continuingly high (“stubbornly high,” I believe he said) unemployment. We learned a considerable amount today. The filmmaker is responsible for much, much more than simply the unrest in the Middle East. By the way, there have now been anti-US protests in 21 different countries. That means there’s one protest for every mention of Obama killing Osama at the Democrat convention.
