RUSH: The other day I described the “legal settlement” Los Angeles negotiated with their homeless. The homeless can remain in the 50-block Skid Row area downtown. The city can remove sofas and refrigerators – if they block the sidewalk – and health hazards like rat-infested items. The city can get rid of them too.

But that won’t solve the city’s problems. Two L.A. Times stories speak for themselves. The first headline. “Rats at the Police Station, Filth on L.A. Streets – Scenes from the Collapse of a City That’s Lost Control.” The police station on Skid Row was cited for unsanitary conditions. An employee was infected with the bacteria that causes typhoid fever.

No point complaining to City Hall, because here’s the second headline. “Homeless Camp’s Feces and Filth Lure Rats to L.A. City Hall.” Conditions there are so unsanitary – including hypodermic needles, human waste, and other filth – that City Hall is overrun with vermin. A pest control company hired by the city recommends that the homeless be kept far away.

Rat-infested Los Angeles — from Los Angeles newspapers — where the Democrats are running this once-great city into the ground, or sewer, depending on how you look at it. It’s incredible.
