RUSH: We’re gonna start in Lynchburg, Virginia. This is Peter. Thank you for waiting, sir. I appreciate your patience. Hello.

CALLER: Thank you, Rush. I heard this weekend on Meet the Depressed Chuck Todd say that what Barack Obama was doing in Iraq was Bush-like in strategy.

RUSH: I didn’t see Meet the Depressed. I heard they’re gonna fire David Gregory and put F. Chuck in as the host.

CALLER: Well, I’m afraid F. Chuck’s probably lost his mind, ’cause after I got done pulling my hair out after I heard that, I kind of wondered what about this is anything but Bush-like? The fact that we don’t have a presence there would have been a deterrence, so this hit-and-run strategy that Barack Obama is using against the —

RUSH: Yeah, but, see, this is exactly what I’m talking about. This is the kind of BS that we got for five years from everybody in the media, every network, every big newspaper, this is the kind of stuff we got. F. Chuck Todd on TV covering, in this case, Obama’s rear end. “Whoa, yeah, well, this is just the Bush foreign policy, and this is nothing more than George Bush and so forth.” This is an effort to give Obama credit, ’cause he’s out there on Saturday blaming Bush for this.

Remember, F. Chuck is the same guy, when the NBC News/Wall Street Journal approval poll came out last week, one week ago today, shows Obama at a record low 40, F. Chuck didn’t talk about that. F. Chuck talked about how the poll showed that everybody is so mad at Washington and so mad at the Republicans in the House. He didn’t mention Obama’s number, and neither did Brian Williams. So this is simply CYA.

And I did see, it’s in The Politico, that F. Chuck is gonna get the gig at the end of the year and that Gregory is out and that he’s not gonna stay at NBC. He’s gonna have to go somewhere else. He’ll get hired. Failures in the news media, that’s one of the biggest launching pads you can have to climb the ladder of success. Liberal media failure guarantees you a prominent new job, ’cause they can’t afford shame or discredit to be showered upon the industry.
