RUSH: That’s right, Trey Gowdy is going to head it up. That’s going to make it work. Boehner just announced a Select Committee, that’s what I’m talking about, to look into Benghazi. A House Select Committee to look at what’s going on in Benghazi because the Regime keeps lying about it, and they’re going to put Trey Gowdy in charge of it. That means there will be no BS permitted by any of the witnesses.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Yeah, hey dude, that was like two years ago, dude. Hey, dude, where do we go to get our ambassador back? You know, we have a bunch of kids in this Regime. We have a bunch of kids that probably shave twice a week and if they wanted to grow a beard they couldn’t. They look like vegans. No offense, Snerdley. Really. They’re all pajama boys.

Every damn one of them that’s a spokesman for whatever department, they look like pajama boys. These are the guys that got kicked around in junior high and high school, they’re getting their revenge now. These are the guys that were punked, that were made fun of, laughed at, and now they’re getting their revenge on everybody. Anyway, there I go bringing up something that happened two years ago. What’s wrong with dudes like me and Fox News?

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Dude, where is my ambassador? Where do I go to get my ambassador back? Last night on Special Report with Bret Baier they had a discussion about the Benghazi talking points controversy with Former National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor, who looks to be about 19. It looks like he and Jay Carney were separated at birth.

Bret Baier said, “According to the e-mails and the timeline, the CIA circulates new talking points after theyÂ’ve removed the mention of Al Qaeda, and then at 6:21,” on the day the Benghazi attack is happening, “the White House, you, add a line about the administration warning of September 10th social media reports calling for demonstrations. True?”

VIETOR: Uhh, I believe so.

BAIER: Did you also change “attacks” to “demonstrations” in the talking points?

VIETOR: Maybe. I donÂ’t really remember.

BAIER: You donÂ’t remember?

VIETOR: Dude, this was like two years ago. WeÂ’re still talking about the most mundane process.

BAIER: Dude, it is the thing that everybody is talking about.

RUSH: Dude, this is only two years ago. We’re still talking about the most mundane process. And Baier said, “Dude, it’s the thing everybody is talking about.” So Vietor goes on and his objective here is to make it look like anybody interested in this is a nut. Anybody who cares about this is an absolute lunatic. “Dude, it was like two years ago. We’re still talking about the most mundane process.”

So Baier said, “People on the ground testified that they knew where the ambassador was, that they were very military in their precision. It was not guys coming to protest. They had mortars and heavy weapons.” This was a terror attack. It was not protest. It was not because of any sort of video. It was not a protest because of what happened in Cairo.

VIETOR: I was in the Situation Room that night, okay. And we didn’t know, uhh, where the ambassador was definitively. In fact, there —

BAIER: Was the president in the Situation Room?

VIETOR: No. And the fact that your network at one time reported that he watched video feed of the attack as it was ongoing is part of what I think has been —

BAIER: Okay. Well let me —

VIETOR: — a pattern of inaccurate —

BAIER: Let me get to the bottom of it then. Where was the president?

VIETOR: In the White House.

RUSH: Now, this is fascinating, because the administration line on this for the last two years has been this: This is a Fox News story. Nobody but Fox cares about this. This is a Fox story. The other networks know there’s nothing here. This is just get Obama time. The GOP’s become the Get Obama Party and Fox is the agent of the Get Obama Party and that’s all you guys care about. This is a Fox News story. Come on, dude, nobody’s talking about this anymore.

“I was in the Situation Room that night we didn’t know where the ambassador definitely was.” And then Baier says, “Was the president in the Situation Room?” and Vietor, I think without thinking because he’s so focused on humiliating and embarrassing Baier and Fox here. Because remember, where Obama was still remains one of the big questions. So Bret Baier says, “Was the president in the Situation Room?” And Vietor says, “No. And in fact your network at one time reported that he watched video feed of the attack as it was going on is part of what I think has been a pattern of inaccurate –“

And Baier said, “Well, okay, let me get to the bottom of it then. Was the president in the White House?” The president was not in the Situation Room. Well, I don’t know about you, but that’s pretty big to me. You have a United States consulate that’s under assault. You have an ambassador under assault. Whether they knew where he was specifically at any moment in time or not, the president knew full well, he’d been told by Hillary and Leon Panetta, the last time we knew was 5:00 p.m. and then after that he’s off the grid and Vietor is saying, no, he wasn’t in the Situation Room. He thinks that he’s got Fox over a barrel by pointing out: You guys once reported that the president watched video, a live feed in the Situation Room, when he wasn’t even in the Situation Room.

So Vietor thinks, “A ha! I scored a point! I showed that Fox was wrong!” In the process, Vietor has admitted that the president didn’t care enough to show up to The Situation Room to follow what was going on. So then Baier, who was undeterred, asked, “Well, was he in the White House?” Now I think this is why…

We have a sound bite earlier from Joe Klein and Jeff Greenfield at the 92nd Street Y and both said the only real newscast left in America is this show, the Bret Baier 6:00 p.m. news hour on Fox. I think this is one of the reasons they said it. Bret Baier kept pursuing it. Had Bret Baier hosted that presidential debate where this came up, he would have asked Obama this question (as opposed to Candy Crowley who didn’t care).

He would have asked, “Where were you, Mr. President, when Benghazi was going down? Were you in the White House? Were you in The Situation Room? Where were you?” Well, he asked Tommy Vietor. They continued talking and Bret Baier continued to find out where the president was.

BAIER: Where was the president?

VIETOR: In the White House.

BAIER: He wasn’t in the Situation Room?

VIETOR: Uhh, at what point in the evening? I mean, he was constantly —

BAIER: Any point in the evening. When Hillary Clinton talks to him by phone at 10:00 p.m., he’s where?

VIETOR: I don’t know. I don’t have a tracking device on him in the residence.

BAIER: But you were in the Situation Room —

VIETOR: I was in the White House. Yes.

BAIER: — and he wasn’t there?

VIETOR: I was in the White House.

BAIER: And the president wasn’t in the Situation Room?

VIETOR: Not in the room I was in.

RUSH: Do you hear the snarky attitude from this little guy? I know these people think Fox is the enemy. I understand all that. I understand human nature. But this is the White House. This is beneath it. This is not adult behavior. This snarky kid, an uber-ultra leftist who buys into the notion that Fox is the focus of modern evil, and that everything they do is a lie, and that everything they do is made up.

This little guy believes every word of that. He’s no different than somebody posting blind, nameless idiotic thoughts on Twitter 50,000 times a day. Play the sound bite again. I don’t even want to do an impression. Just listen to the smarmy, snarky almost arrogant and condescending tone in Vietor’s voice. Bret Baier asks, again, “Where was the president?”

RUSH: “I don’t know. I don’t have a tracking device. I don’t keep track of him. I don’t know where he is; I don’t care. Why do you care? You’re just an idiot. You’re just a right-wing nut. I don’t care where he is! What does it matter where he is? Why are we even talking about Benghazi, dude? It was two years ago, dude. Why are we even talking about it? I wasn’t in The Situation Room. He wasn’t there. I can’t track him in the residence. I have no idea what he’s doing. Why do you care?”

That kind of smarminess and arrogant condescension… I don’t know. Those are two human characteristics that just rub me raw.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: This little pajama boy guy, he was in the Situation Room but Obama wasn’t. So pajama boy number three was in The Situation Room. He didn’t know where the president was. He was in The Situation Room. Some former spokesperson was in there but didn’t know where Obama was, and they didn’t know where the ambassador was. (Vietor impression) “I don’t know where he was.

“I don’t have a tracking advice on the president in the residence. I don’t know where he was, and you can’t make me tell you. I actually know where he was but you can’t make me tell you where he was. You can spank me. You can do whatever you want. You can make me sit in the corner and make me eat my peas but I’m not going to tell you!”

Let’s hit the phones. Nancy in Cape Coral, Florida. I’m glad you called. Welcome to the EIB Network. Hi

CALLER: Hi, Rush. Thank you. I am so thrilled to speak to you. I’ll get right to the point. I’m so disgusted with this Vietor to begin with. He’s the latest in a chain of many of bald-faced liars. They sit in their chairs and lie to the American people, and they forget they work for us. We pay them. They are there to answer our questions and tell us the truth, and all they do is lie.

It starts at the top and it keeps working its way all the way down, and it’s disgusting to look at it. Then they say, “Oh, Fox News is the only one that is talking about this so it must not be newsworthy.” Fox News is the news. They are the only news. The rest of them don’t talk about it because they’re afraid, because they’re all in the same corner. I’m just sick and tired of listening to these people lie to me.

I don’t know what to do about it. But I’m glad you’re there helping us understand it.

RUSH: Well, that’s really all you need is me here every day to help keep you sane, because that’s about as much as we can hope for. But one thing I want to help you out with.

CALLER: Okay.

RUSH: This Vietor and these people, you name it, they don’t think that they work for you or me. They work for Obama and their job is to protect him not to tell you the truth. You have to understand, these people are all real uber leftists. As such, Nancy, they don’t really think much of you. Your average, everyday leftist has contempt for what he thinks is the idiot, dumkoff average American.

By the time you put these people in positions of bureaucratic power like this, they have arrogance and condescension and they think you can’t even keep up with them. Even if they would respect you, you’re not smart enough to know what they do and how they do it. So the idea that they work for you and owe you anything? “Ha! Ha! What an idiot you are.” That’s not why they’re there.

In this Regime’s case, they’re there specifically to make sure you don’t find out what really goes on. They’re there to make sure that you only get the PR-spun buzz version of what happened. Like Obama today making the unemployment number look like we’ve got one of the biggest roaring economic recoveries ever happening out there that we are all in the midst of.

When the reality is worse than the opposite: 92.5 million Americans are not working. The labor force participation rate is lower than it’s been since 1978, or as low. The lowest since 1978. Obamacare is robbing people of disposable income. People’s wages are stagnant. The reality is not good.

So they can’t tell you the reality. They can’t respect you enough to tell you the truth. No, no, no. They gotta lie to you, and tell you that what you know isn’t true. They have to create this buzz-spin reality that they hope low-information voters glom on to and are inspired to go vote in November because of.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Beth in Orlando, Florida, glad you called, you’re next, hello.

CALLER: Hi, Rush.

RUSH: Hi.

CALLER: I was listening to the interview yesterday with Bret Baier and Tommy… I can’t pronounce his last name. But something really popped out to me in it. He said at one time he was in the Oval Office and Bret Baier said he was in the White House and he made the comment, he said, “I don’t have a tracker on him in the residence.”

RUSH: Right.

CALLER: Basically he knew he was in the residence. He wasn’t in his work environment. He wasn’t in an office. And I’m just taking it from people I know, executives or a person in position of power, if somebody is missing, and he said, he goes, “At that time the ambassador was missing.” And I’m thinking how can a leader of a country or a leader of a corporation or any leader, if one of their people is missing, you go home?

RUSH: It might have been dinnertime with his daughters. He is a family man, don’t you understand. He’s spending time with his family. There’s nothing more important than that.

CALLER: Then the next day he went to the fundraiser.

RUSH: Yeah, in Vegas.

CALLER: It’s just a thing, did he go home to get rest, I don’t know. But I think it was more telling that they do know where he was, but —

RUSH: Let’s grab the sound bite. Let’s listen to it together. Grab sound bite number three, that’s the one you’re talking about. Tommy Vietor, the Former Spokesperson for the National Security Council in the White House. He’s talking with Bret Baier, and Bret Baier has already got Vietor to explain that Obama was never in the Situation Room. And Vietor is saying (paraphrasng), “Well, he wasn’t where I was. He was never in the same room I was. I was in the Situation Room. I don’t know where he was.”
Bret Baier kept pressing. Here’s the sound bite.

BAIER: And the president was not in the Situation Room?

VIETOR: Not in the room I was in.

RUSH: Now there’s more to this bite than just that, Beth. If a lawyer, if this were taking place in a cross-examination, Vietor would be in big trouble here. Because not only your point, “No, I don’t have a tracking device in the residence.” A lawyer would say, “Well you know he’s in the residence, you just don’t know where?” “No, I didn’t say that. I said I don’t have a tracking device on him.” “Do you have a tracking device on him in the Situation Room?” “I don’t have a tracking device on him, period.” “Then why did you say you don’t have a tracking device on him in the residence? And, then Mr. Vietor, you said that you were in the Situation Room and he wasn’t there.” “No, I said I was in the White House. Yes, I was in the White House.” “And the president wasn’t in the Situation Room?” “Not in the room I was in.” “Wait a minute, Mr. Vietor, where were you? You were not in the residence; you were in the White House; you were or were not in the Situation Room. And you don’t know where the president was?” “I really don’t know.” So you’re very shrewd to pick up on this.

CALLER: I just don’t understand. I don’t know anybody in that situation, he appointed Ambassador Stevens, if I remember correctly, and how if somebody you appointed is missing, how do you go home? I don’t care if your home is in the same building. How do you not sit in there and do everything you can.

RUSH: Look, home is the second floor of the White House. If they have to get you they can. The point is he was off the grid. This guy said he wasn’t in the Situation Room with us. I don’t know where he was. He wasn’t anywhere around. The point, they’re trying to cover it up like it’s no big deal. But your point stands, it really does. The embassy, the consulate is under fire, the ambassador, nobody knows where he is. Everybody knows it’s trouble and Obama basically handed it off. He said to Hillary: You guys handle it. And he’s gone. And he was gone from 5:00 to 10:00 on the anniversary of 9/11. Next day off to Vegas. He’s not packing because valets do that. Presidents do not pack their own bags, do not doubt me.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Back to the phones to Buffalo… Oh, no, he hung up? Okay. I’m going to answer his question anyway. The first part… Apparently Ambassador Stevens, who was killed in Benghazi, was gay? Is that right? (interruption) That’s what we hear. The caller wanted to know, “Why isn’t the gay community upset about it. Here’s an ambassador, appointed by Obama, and Obama doesn’t care. Where is the gay community?”

It’s a perfect, perfect question to once again make the point: “Obama didn’t mean for him to get hurt! He didn’t mean for it to happen. Obama didn’t do it.” Now, if the Republican had appointed the guy, and done this exact same thing, there might be some pressure from the militant gay political apparatus on a Republican president.

“He didn’t care enough because the ambassador was gay,” is what they would say.

“Wait a minute. Did he appoint him?” we’d ask.

“That doesn’t matter! He’s gay. The Republicans don’t care about him!”

But there’s none of that directed towards Obama because Obama didn’t want it to happen. Obama is our friend. There are just differing standards. What else did the guy want to ask? What was the second part of his question? (interruption) “Will Obama be an activist after his term?” Damn straight.

When I heard that Obama is going to live in Washington… Can you name for me a former president that stays there? He’s going to live there and the reason why… This is not hard to figure out. Whether the next president’s a Democrat or Republican, if either of them, whoever it is begins to dismantle what Obama’s done he’s going to go on television every day.

He’s going to have the press corps supporting him just like they do now. He’s going to be president in exile. Whoever the next president is had better figure out before you win: Do you want to put up with this? Because you’re going to have Obama every day or at least every week on TV questioning what you’re doing with the full support of the media.

From down the street!
