Maha, Where Does Oil Come From?

by Rush Limbaugh - May 28,2002

Ladies and gentlemen, we’re now learning that oil exists in previously unknown places – places we didn’t ever think possible. We’re also learning that we may have been wrong about how oil is even formed in the first place. I read two stories during show-prep on Wednesday that just left me in awe on this subject.
One is Bruce Bartlett’s Washington Times piece, “Potential Oil Supply Refill?” Bartlett writes: “Scientists, led by Mahlon Kennicutt of Texas A&M University, speculate that the new oil is surging upward from deposits well below those currently in production. … Although it is not yet known whether this is a worldwide phenomenon or commercially important, the new discovery suggests there may be far more oil and gas within the Earth’s core than previously thought.”
The second article is National Review Online‘s “The Great Attractor” by John Derbyshire, which is about immigration but made me think of our energy needs and those who would send us back into the Dark Ages rather than meet them. We are in a tiny piece of the galaxy that is traveling through the infinite space at 1.3 million mph towards something out there that’s attracting us. We don’t know what it is, he says, and makes the connection to what draws immigrants to this nation.
