Last Keeper of Odd Knowledge

by Rush Limbaugh - Jun 13,2008

RUSH: Bill in Oxford, Massachusetts, I’m glad you called, sir. Welcome to the EIB.

CALLER: Thank you, Rush, and, yes, I knew all that stuff. I’ve been listening to you for 19 years, and I am the sole surviving member of the Keepers of Odd Knowledge Society here in Massachusetts. So, yes, I knew all that.

RUSH: Well, I haven’t had any official communiques from the Keepers of Odd Knowledge Society.

CALLER: I’m the only one left, and once again I’m calling from Massachusetts, so I think you can understand that my blinds are down and I only smoke my cigars in the house.

RUSH: Well, your wife does not object?

CALLER: She doesn’t dare. But that’s another story. She actually is a government employee, and so I’m not going to mention her name. But I’m calling to do something that you don’t like to hear. I’m calling to applaud you. And I know that only because it’s Open Line Friday that you’ll submit yourself to the accolades that I’m about to bestow upon you.

RUSH: Your accolades are going to have to wait because I can gather here you’re not going to be able to get them in in ten seconds, because we have to go to a hard break. Can you hang on through the —

CALLER: Yes, I will, sir.

RUSH: — commercial for the accolades? This does make me uncomfortable. The audience is well aware that I don’t like myself being discussed and complimented and so on. I’m working on it, though.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: And we go back to Oxford, Massachusetts, and the alleged lone surviving member of the Keepers of Odd Knowledge Society. Bill, you were going to shower me with accolades, and you know that I’m uncomfortable with this.

CALLER: Yes, I do. And please, allow me to apologize in advance for what I’m about to say. When I get off the phone, I’m going to be calling our US representative, John Olver, who, by the way, was the determining vote against the Peterson bill yesterday in the House of Representatives to keep us from drilling offshore, but I’m going to call him nonetheless to ask him to, again, nominate you for the Nobel Peace Prize for two different reasons, the first reason being your support of the Keep Our Own Kids Safe initiative. I think it’s critical for the health and well-being of our children in this society.

RUSH: The dangers of soccer are something more people need to be aware of, you’re absolutely right.

CALLER: Yeah, not enough people know it Rush and if it weren’t for you, I’m not certain anybody would. But above and beyond that, about, I don’t know, 30, 40 minutes ago, you invested a tremendous amount of money, I mean airtime is not free, to help a citizen of ours in the state of Texas who had been subjected to mercury vapor poisoning. And the public service announcement and the time that you invested in helping the majority of the American public that listen to you and understand you, that needs to be rewarded. So I wanted to applaud you and thank you as a citizen.

RUSH: Well, I very much appreciate that. Quite observant of you. Most people would not look at both of these instances that you’ve cited as something worthy of praise. But I’m glad that you did and you flatter me, I thank you very much.

CALLER: Frankly, it’s not flattering. It ain’t bragging if it’s true, and, sir, chin up and thank you from all of us.

RUSH: Thank you very, very much. I appreciate it. It’s Bill from Oxford, Massachusetts, the last surviving member of the Keepers of Odd Knowledge Society which was formed in Maine prior to even the Bilderbergers.
