RUSH: Now, this is not going to surprise anybody. Well, it might surprise some people on Fox. It might surprise some people on MSNBC. ‘ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis Praises Socialism, Bashes Conservatives at Socialist Youth Conference — Over 150 youth and student activists gathered at Norman Thomas High School in New York City from March 5-7, 2010. Young Democratic Socialists (YDS) activists and progressive youth converged to discuss how to amplify left-wing pressure on the establishment. These young radicals came from Texas, Indiana to Kansas, Florida, Rhode Island, Oregon and more. Bertha Lewis spoke at the Winter Conference of the Young Democratic Socialists in March. The ACORN CEO praised socialism and attacked conservatives in her talk.’ I only mention this because we have some people holding out, even on our side of the media, ‘He’s not a socialist. He’s not a socialist.’ It’s right out in front of everybody’s eyes. It’s happening right in front of everybody’s eyes. They’re not even bothering to hide it. So whenever they ballyhoo themselves in this way we point it out.

RUSH: We have the audio of Bertha Lewis, New York City, ACORN, chief executive officer of the group, held a-press conference. Here’s a portion of what she said.
LEWIS: Let me just say, any group that says I’m young, I’m Democratic, and I’m a socialist is alright with me. (applause) You know, that’s no light thing to do, to actually say, ‘I’m a socialist.’ As you guys know, right now we are living in a time which is going to dwarf the McCarthy era, it is going to dwarf the internment during WWII.
RUSH: What is she talking about? What in the world? We’re living in a time which is going to dwarf the McCarthy era, it is going to dwarf the internment during World War II. What am I missing here? Bertha Lewis is the same person who said people have a right to housing. ACORN is right in the middle of the subprime mortgage crisis. But her guy, a fellow socialist, is running the country. Who’s gonna get interned? McCarthy era, gonna dwarf the internment during World War II? Here’s the next sound bite.
LEWIS: We are right now in a time that is going to dwarf the era of Jim Crow and segregation. They are coming, and they are coming after you and they are going to be brutal and (unintelligible). They’ve already shown it to you. Organize, get out into the street. You really have got to circle the wagons. This is not rhetoric of hyperbole. This is real, this rise of this tea party so-called movement. Bowel movement in my estimation (laughter).
RUSH: Oh, the tea party’s a bowel movement! We can perfectly entertain talk like that, yes, in the new civility that is Obama’s America. So here’s Bertha Lewis, ACORN’s CEO warning young socialists about the racist tea party movement. Oh, I get it now. So the tea party is going to be interning socialists. The tea party is going to come and they’re going to take you away and they’re going to put you in a camp somewhere. Now, isn’t Bertha Lewis engaging here in dangerous rhetoric? Do you think Bertha Lewis’ words might be encouraging somebody to violence? Isn’t that what Slick Willie said about me and the tea party? These people, folks, I’ll tell you, it is breathtaking. It is really a Mars-Venus circumstance.

CALLER: Thanks, Rush. It’s great to talk to you. I want to get back to Bertha Lewis for a second. She’s always amusing, but this whole thing about internment camps. Do you think that’s just left-wing projection? Because I’m wondering, you know, they haven’t really… When’s the last time we had White House proxies accusing commentators like yourself of sedition? That’s pretty new.
RUSH: Yeah.
CALLER: Maybe she’s really thinking about that in the back of her mind when she claims that they’re coming to get her. She’s thinking, ‘A-ha! They’re going to come and get him.’
RUSH: Even so, who is the ‘They’?
CALLER: Yeah, right.
RUSH: Who is coming to get Bertha Lewis to intern her? She’s gotta mean the tea party people. That’s what she’s talking about.
CALLER: Yeah.
RUSH: But if anybody’s going to be interning anybody it’s the regime!
CALLER: Where are you gonna go? Are you going to have, like, an offshore pirate radio station?
RUSH: Oh, if it came to that —
CALLER: You know, you gotta think about that now. What’s your backup plan?
RUSH: Well, I got two backup plans.
CALLER: (chuckling)
RUSH: One of them’s all Australia.
CALLER: All right!
