Sweet Justice for Rick Sanchez

by Rush Limbaugh - Oct 4,2010

RUSH: Rick Sanchez, ladies and gentlemen, idiocy on parade, it finally shows up on somebody else’s show. This is a shame. I mean, normally whatever you say on satellite radio, nobody ever hears. So he goes on satellite radio and actually somebody hears what he has to say, the most unkind cut of all. He was on Sirius XM satellite radio, a program called Stand Up with Pete Dominick. Sanchez, former host of the show Rick’s List, was the guest, and he said this about Jon Stewart, Comedy Central.

SANCHEZ: I think Jon Stewart’s a bigot. I’m telling you that everybody who runs CNN is a lot like Stewart. A lot of people who run all the other networks are a lot like Stewart. And to imply that somehow they, the people in this country who are Jewish are an oppressed minority? Yeah. I can’t see somebody not getting a job somewhere because they’re Jewish.

RUSH: Now, what brought this on? You might be asking, what brought this on? What brought it on is that Sanchez cannot take any criticism whatsoever. This is a guy who can run out and dish it to everybody, but he can’t take Jon Stewart making fun of him. Now, Jon Stewart benefits from a lot of buzz that makes his audience and his show seem larger than it actually is. I mean look at the numbers for Stewart’s show on Comedy Central. It’s not that big, a million people or what have you. I guess in the niche in the cable universe it’s pretty big. It’s much bigger than Sanchez’s show. Sanchez is, what, 200,000 if he’s lucky, on CNN. He just couldn’t take it, couldn’t take being criticized, couldn’t take being made fun of. And he lets it out of the bag ’cause he thinks that Stewart’s Jewish and all these other people are Jewish and they’re making fun of Sanchez. He so desperately wants to be part of their clique. Sanchez so desperately wanted to be in the ruling class, but he says these Stewart types, including the CNN management, they look at him as a Cuban, as an Hispanic, and they make fun of him. And of course the making fun of him was justified. The guy’s an idiot. You know the word annals? He pronounces it ‘anals,’ not on purpose. Not on purpose.

I’ve met Sanchez. I’ve met him. And believe me, folks, you’ve heard me say, an order of fries short of a Happy Meal. Bingo. Elevator doesn’t go to the top floor. But anyway, to run around and say this, the only thing he could say, ‘I didn’t think anybody would hear me. It’s satellite radio.’ No, Snerdley, this is nothing personal. I just find it amazing that the guy, he can’t take it. His entire career is spent being critical and making fun of other people. But I mean, for crying out loud, to be made fun of by Jon Stewart? He ought to be thankful somebody’s talking about him. If I were Sanchez I’d be paying Stewart: Thank you, ’cause I’m Rick Sanchez and I’m a nobody and yet you’re still talking about me. He was fired that quick. Well, did you hear what CNN said? CNN said, ‘Rick Sanchez no longer works here. We thank him for his efforts.’ They got him out of there real fast. Now, there are some people who think CNN blew this, that they had a chance in firing Sanchez to explain who they are. ‘We don’t stand up for bigotry. We don’t stand up for anti-Semitism. We at CNN,’ blah, blah. But because they’re such politically correct libs they really didn’t know what to do here except get rid of the guy, but they really couldn’t explain why. They just knew that something here was wrong, and rather than defend him, they got the old broom out, Elmira Gulched him and he got out of there.

Now, Sanchez has talked about me. Sanchez was part of the cabal in the media that spread false quotes, things I have never said during the ill-fated attempt to be part of the group buying the St. Louis Rams. This is from October 13th of 2009, practically almost one year ago when all that was going down.

SANCHEZ: One of the quotes that’s been attributed to Rush Limbaugh, is ‘Slavery built the South. I’m not saying that we should bring it back. I’m just saying that it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.’ Among the news organizations that reported that yesterday was our show at three o’clock. Limbaugh’s response to this is — and we want to be fair to Rush — he says, ‘We’ve gone back, we’ve looked at everything else, and there is not even an inkling that any of the words in that quote are accurate. It is outrageous.’ So Rush Limbaugh is denying that that quote has come from him. Obviously, that does not take away the fact that there are other quotes [that] have been attributed to Rush Limbaugh which many people in the African-American community and many other minority communities do find offensive.

RUSH: Isn’t it amazing? You can look at this almost as sweet justice. So the guy, in admitting that I was a victim of made-up quotes and nevertheless repeats them. And after he repeats them, ‘Okay, Rush says he didn’t say it, but we know he thinks it and we know he said things similar to it,’ and so good riddance, Sanchez. We’ll see what happens. Who will hire him? He was at the bottom of the barrel at CNN, but don’t say he didn’t have a future. They hired Eliot Spitzer. I mean here’s a guy, Client No. 9, they put Spitzer on primetime. MSNBC, there are plenty of places that might find Sanchez welcome. Never know. We’re not gonna be keeping a sharp eye on it, but this is just one of these sweet justice kind of things. There are plenty of anti-Semitic, bigoted news outlets on the left that would welcome an anti-Semitic bigot, plus an idiot. I mean you gotta be an idiot to be in the Drive-By Media these days and he fits totally.
