RUSH: Obama last week, he’s out there campaigning. He’s not even on the ballot. He’s out there campaigning for other people.

He tells the audience — which is, by the way, stocked. They put out casting calls for actors at Obama’s appearances now. He says (doing impression), ‘Don’t — don’t — don’t make me look bad! Don’t make me look bad out there.’ The problem is he’s already done that himself. He solved the problem of his supporters making him look bad. He beat ’em to it. Unemployment? The deficit? I’ll bet you the real unemployment in this country is closer to 20%. They say that the U6 is 17.1% or 17.5%. I’ll bet it’s closer to 20% unemployment. And Obama and people at the regime are trying to tell everybody that 10%, 9.6% to 10% is ‘the new norm.’ So now… We have a spy, ladies and gentlemen. Our staff is everywhere. We have a spy that gets regular dispatches from Obama’s website, Organizing for America. Our spy… Well, I can’t give the spy’s name because then the Organize for America people will know it.

But ‘Dear [Spy]: ‘This is a threat to our democracy…’ This is a dispatch in the e-mail from Organizing for America, which is Obama’s website. ”This is a threat to our democracy…And if we just stand by and allow the special interests to silence anybody who’s got the guts to stand up to them, our country’s going to be a very different place.’ That’s what the President just said about the Chamber of Commerce, a right-wing group spending $75 million to beat Democrats this fall, and reportedly taking money from foreign corporations — some even owned by foreign governments.’ Are you kidding me? Obama is the only man on the planet that thinks he still looks good, and to come out with this, the Chamber of Commerce?

You want to smear the Chamber of Commerce as ‘a right-wing foreign group’ that has been infiltrated? I don’t care what Obama’s supporters do to not make him look bad, they can’t overcome himself making himself look bad. In just two years this guy has accomplished the impossible. He’s made himself look worse than Jimmy Carter, and you can only do that by trying. And he’s managed to pull it off. He did it without the help of Bill Ayers. He did it without the help of Jeremiah Wright. I mean, Barack Obama is a self-made failure, and now to come out with this business? It got so bad… Let me play couple sound bites. This is an ad they played on Face the Nation. Bob Schieffer played a DNC ad for David Axelrod yesterday on Slay the Nation.

PAID ANNOUNCER: (silly dramatic music) Karl Rove! Ed Gillespie! They’re Bush cronies. The US Chamber of Commerce. They’re shills for big business. And they’re stealing our democracy —

RUSH: What a laugh.

PAID ANNOUNCER: — spending millions from secret donors to elect Republicans to do their bidding in Congress. It appears they even have taken secret foreign money to influence our elections. It’s incredible: Republicans benefiting from secret foreign money. Tell the Bush crowd and the Chamber of Commerce: Stop stealing our democracy! The Democratic National Committee is responsible for the content of this advertising.

RUSH: Even the New York Times — even the Times! — has run a piece saying there is no foreign money; this is a baseless charge. Bob Schieffer, who’s eager to spread the Obama agenda at CBS News, basically said to David Axelrod, ‘Is this the best you’ve got for me this morning?’ And Axelrod says, ‘Yeah! They’ve gotta prove that there isn’t foreign money involved.’ Well, how do you prove a negative? Here’s Schieffer after that ad to Axelrod.

SCHIEFFER: Do you…? (groans) I guess I would put it this way: If the only (chuckles) charge three weeks into the election that the Democrats have to make is that somehow this may or may not be foreign money coming into the campaign, is that the best you can do?

RUSH: Here’s Bob Schieffer. You know, he’s desperate for Obama to come back and the Democrats to wipe the Republican slate clean. He’s really hoping for big stuff from The Messiah, and he says to Axelrod, ‘Is this the best you’ve got for me?’ That’s how weak it is, that not even the State-Controlled Media can get on board.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: So here’s Obama and Axelrod out there with this charge that the Chamber of Commerce is a bunch of foreign infiltrators. It’s like saying the Rotary Club. It’s like saying the Lions Club. It’s like saying the VFW. I mean, this is bottom-of-the-barrel, desperation, conspiracy stuff. And of course the media… Well, not all. Even Bob Schieffer. I mean… Folks, here. Grab number 11 again. This is hilarious. Axelrod comes on TV and Schieffer plays this ad, and you have to know — put yourself in Schieffer’s position. This is not looking good for Schieffer, CBS, the whole State-Controlled Media. All the polls say it’s going to be a Republican sweep in November. These guys are hoping that Obama — ‘Mr. Brilliant,’ The Messiah — has got some magic he’s gonna pull out of his hat and make sure this Republican sweep doesn’t happen. They got Axelrod coming on the show and they’re just busting buttons with so much anticipation. It’s Christmas morning to them: Axelrod coming on to announce the grand strategery to make sure the Republicans win nothing. They play that ad: Foreign money that’s corrupted the Chamber of Commerce and Bob Schieffer says…

SCHIEFFER: Do you…? (groans) I guess I would put it this way: If the only (chuckles) charge three weeks into the election that the Democrats have to make is that somehow this may or may not be foreign money coming into the campaign, is that the best you can do?

RUSH: I mean, Schieffer is almost embarrassed. ‘Is that all you got for me today?’ This from the party of Charlie Trie! Let’s not forget, Charlie Trie and John Huang. Was it Charlie Trie that owned the Chinese restaurant in Little Rock? Yeah, Charlie Trie, John Huang. Tom Brokaw went to find the Huang bunch in China. The Peoples Liberation Army was sending missiles and rockets into the Long Beach Harbor. All those money orders! Foreign money? I mean, they were corrupting nuns. Remember Algore said there’s ‘no controlling legal authority.’ The White House coffers, for crying out loud! They were selling the Lincoln Bedroom. And of course the media glossed over Obama in his campaign when he accepted Allah knows how many credit card donations of under $200. You know, that’s the limit. (interruption)

No ‘Allah knows.’ Lord knows, Allah knows. It’s a little, play on the Imam Obama. Anyway, the way that you get around having to identify all your donors is to make ’em $200 donations or less. All these credit card donations of $200 million? Remember, it was revolutionary! ‘Why, we’ve never seen anything like this amount of money raised on the Internet!’ Well, where did it come from? Nobody knew. They didn’t have to disclose any of that. This resulted in the possibility of millions in foreign donations to the Obama campaign. These were amounts in odd dollars and cents, which indicated donations had been made using a foreign exchange rate. And of course lest we forgot Obama’s campaign knowingly turned off the automatic address-check verification on credit card donations so they wouldn’t know where these donations were coming from. So it’s a case of projection. When the left, when the Democrats accuses you of doing something, it’s generally something they’re doing themselves, and that’s how they know that it’s been done. BP? BP were big donors to Obama. You know this? BP is a foreign company. BP is over there in the UK — and BP, for all their effort, they donated all this money he still shuck ’em down for a $20 million slush fund and still we have the drilling moratorium. Foreign money? Here’s Axelrod responding to Schieffer and actually calling the Chamber of Commerce ‘a threat to democracy.’

AXELROD: The Republican Party and these interest groups who are now the major force in some of these campaigns want to turn the clock back to the very same policies that got us into this mess in the first place; that, eh, exploded our deficits, that put the special interests in control to write their own rules — the oil industry, Wall Street, insurance industry — that presided over economic policies that punish the middle class. Why is the oil industry, the, uhhh, Wall Street and others, spending this kind of money to defeat candidates and elect others in this sort of secretive way? And, eh, uh, you know, that is a threat to our democracy.

RUSH: The oil business contributed to your guy! BP. We just mentioned it. They’re huge donors to Obama. Hell, folks, Obama took money from Hamas, the terrorist group in Gaza, and who knows wherever else. The Associated Press. This is stunning. ‘A new Democratic TV ad all but accuses the U.S. Chamber of Commerce of using foreign funds to secretly back Republican congressional candidates, igniting a furious round of denials and counter-accusations from Republicans. Democrats presented no evidence to substantiate the charge.’ This is unheard of. Normally the way this works is Axelrod and Obama make a charge, the State-Run Media pick it up and run to the Republicans demanding that they deny this and show proof that they have not accepted foreign money. But here the AP says ‘Democrats presented no evidence…’

Normally, you know, it’s ‘the seriousness of the charge.’ The ‘nature of the evidence’ is irrelevant. If the charge is against a conservative or Republican, that’s all that matters: ‘How serious is the charge? And the evidence? Nah, doesn’t matter. The charge is serious; that’s why gotta look into it.’ Well, that template’s been thrown upside down here. ‘The Democratic National Committee ad, issued barely three weeks from elections in which their hold on House and Senate majorities appears shaky, calls the chamber ‘shills for big business’ and says it is spending millions from anonymous donors to help GOP candidates. ‘It appears they’re even taking secret foreign money to influence our elections,’ the ad says. … The commercial’s allegations echo remarks that President Barack Obama made in a speech last week.’

They go on to recount the history of it, but then they claim there’s no evidence. And the New York Times does the same. No evidence whatsoever. But the charge is out there, and it continues to be made, and Washington Post today: ‘Obama Continues Attack on Chamber of Commerce.’ This is all coordinated. It starts last week, goes through the weekend, and Obama picks it up. Even the Washington Post says it’s an allegation based on zero evidence, and this from the party of John Huang and Charlie Trie and who knows who else. So it’s kind of interesting. You know, they’re also accusing Ed Gillespie and Karl Rove of setting up a group that’s taking foreign money to run around and bash Democrat candidates. Rove and Gillespie, of course, pail in comparison to the amount of money George Soros has raised for Democrats and how it’s spent.

So the Democrats have one set of rules for themselves; if anybody tries to play by the same set of rules, they’re condemned — and the foreign money stuff, that’s… (sigh) I’ll tell you, it’s a sign of how panicked I think that they are. I mean, look at it this way. Special interest money from foreign companies… Let me put it this way. Obama’s problem is not this. Obama’s problem is double-digit unemployment, taxes about to skyrocket, the deficit is out of control, generational theft. People are worried that their kids and grandkids’ lives will not be as prosperous as their own, and to deal with that Obama says special interest money is the big problem? Did special interest money drive up unemployment? Did special interest money raise taxes? Special interest money balloon the deficit? See, if I were the Republicans (and of course I’m not, but if I were) I would mock the heck out of this, but I would do it with big picture facts.

Unemployment remains stuck near 10% — and I’d use the Gallup number, 10.1%. I’d use the U6 number, 17.1%. The Obama-Democrat deficits dwarf whatever deficits Bush had. And Obama has got a sideshow conspiracy theory that the Chamber of Commerce is really a secret foreign operation designed to corrupt and pollute the United States! Even the New York Times can’t get behind this. It’s made to order if the Republicans want to get in gear on this. They’re still a little tepid. They’re a little frightened that they’re going to be called racist if they go after this guy. Plus the theory is when your opponent is making a fool of himself, just stand aside. Get out of the way and let it continue. So there’s that aspect to it, too.

A brief time-out. We’ll get to your phone calls when we come back. El Rushbo serving humanity simply by being here.

Oh, by the way, it’s a holiday, it’s Columbus Day, and — and a lot of people ask me every Monday holiday, ‘Why are you here?’ It’s because nobody ever tells me. I’m not oriented toward holidays. I’m not oriented towards sick days or vacation days. I’m just not. Back in the ol’ days when I interviewed for a job I did not first ask, ‘How many sick days do I get? How many vacation days?’ I didn’t ask any of that, and on these Monday holidays I always feel like I kinda get screwed because nobody tells me that it’s a holiday until I’m already here, and the way I’ve adjusted to this is to say, ‘Well, it’s okay. Only the necessary actually show up. Only the relevant. So it’s cool.’

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Cincinnati, Jason, great to have you on the EIB Network. You are up first. Hello, sir.

CALLER: How are you doing? Thank you very much. Hey, in regards to the foreign money —

RUSH: Hang on just a second.

CALLER: Yes.

RUSH: Nothing against you, just an observation. I want you to notice, folks, every caller asks me how I am and doesn’t wait for the answer. Okay, Jason, what were you going to say?

CALLER: I’m sorry about that.

RUSH: I’m just kidding. I’m in a fun mood today.

CALLER: Hey, in regards to this foreign money, I guess I’m confused. Are we now to believe that after how many years of repressive Republican control and Bush anger and mismanagement, that the foreign money is now saying, ‘We want you guys back in power’? Am I to understand that?

RUSH: That’s an excellent point, because the foreign money was supposed to love Obama. America was hated because of Bush. You’re exactly right. The world hated us, Bush had embarrassed us, and now all of a sudden the foreign money wants Obama gone. Obama himself is admitting it. Obama himself is the source of the story. That’s excellent, Jason. You’ve come up with something that I didn’t come up with myself. That never happens.

CALLER: Well, I’m glad I’m the first one to do that, thank you very much.

RUSH: You bet.

CALLER: Thank you.

RUSH: You bet. Have a wonderful day. It really doesn’t happen much. I gotta recover from this.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: You know, this foreign money business, I’ve just been reminded that Obama during his first State of the Union message, he said that the Citizens United decision would allow foreign governments to influence our elections, and that’s when associate justice Sam Alito shook his head and said ‘untrue.’ Obama had personally insulted the court and they couldn’t say anything back at the State of the Union. That’s how long this has been brewing, but this is the same party — and this is sort of a takeoff on what Jason just pointed out — same party wants us to devise our defense policy based on what foreign countries want us to do at the UN; the same party that wants us to use foreign law to decide Supreme Court cases; the same party wants to allow foreign workers to sneak over the border, work here, and become registered Democrats. Yet somehow foreign money trickling into the Chamber of Commerce is the result of a conspiracy of infiltration and corruption unlike anything we’ve ever seen?
