RUSH: Folks, I’ve said this before, it’s just too easy. The American left and the media is simply out of its mind over my characterization of the Obama presidency as graffiti on the walls of history. They’re claiming that this is not even well disguised race-baiting, and they’re claiming that it’s race-baiting for two reasons. A, only blacks write graffiti. Now, that’s palpably untrue. Graffiti is an art form that has been popularized by the poor, regardless of their skin color. The other reason they’re upset over this is because I refer to Obama and his gang. (laughing) They’re assuming that I am making a racial comment here. And then they didn’t like what Micheale put on our website, our graphic designer, our website art depicting this, Obama as graffiti on Mount Rushmore. I mean, it’s too easy. It’s too easy. Brian Maloney, Radio Equalizer, is right. He thinks they have a bounty on me, whoever it is, is gonna be made a lot of money if they come up with the way to get me, quote, unquote, fired or off the air.

They’re upset about this Clyburn business, this Driving Miss Nancy, that still has ’em over the moon, they still can’t figure this out, and I have been borne out as accurate about this, this Congressional Black Caucus is withholding its support of Pelosi, placing Clyburn in this make up leadership position, the number three. They’re not using the word, but they want to make sure it’s not a token appointment. We got the audio sound bites here. What’s wrong with gangs? I mean, for crying out loud, you got the Russian gangs, you got Greek gangs, you got Italian gangs, got Irish gangs. But somehow Obama’s gang — (laughing) — I don’t know, folks, I love it.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Let’s go to the audio sound bites here, we’re gonna go to MSNBC Sergeant Schultz’s show. I read the transcript of the sound bite. I haven’t yet heard it. I read the transcript, I’m scratching my head. They really are just plain dumb. It’s no more complicated than that. It’s like Reagan once said, ‘There aren’t complex solutions. The solutions to our problems are very simple. They’re just hard.’ Well, it’s not complex to understand why the left is where it is and why MSNBC’s where it is. There is just no other word for it. I mean you could be polite and say ignorant, but it’s not that they don’t know, it’s not that they’re not informed. We’re talking the IQ meter here. I feel uncomfortable saying this. Listen to this sound bite of Sheila Jackson Lee. Now, remember, Sheila Jackson Lee, she took over for Mickey Leland, who was killed in a plane crash in Ethiopia, she’s a congresswoman from Texas. And when the Mars rover was running around on the surface of Mars she was there at NASA headquarters and said, (paraphrasing) ‘Will the thing go over to where the astronauts left the flag?’

Now, astronauts have not been to Mars. There is no astronaut-planted flag on Mars. It happens to be on the moon. It’s kind of like Algore walking into a museum and pointing, ‘Who was that?’ ‘That’s Benjamin Franklin, Mr. Vice President.’ ‘Well, who’s that?’ ‘That’s Thomas Jefferson, Mr. Vice President.’ He was in Monticello, at Thomas Jefferson’s house. ‘Who’s that?’ ‘Thomas Jefferson.’ So here you go. Sergeant Schultz on his show last night talking about me, of course, and this ethnic slur of racism with the Driving Miss Nancy. And now they are convinced here that calling Sergeant Schultz Sergeant Schultz is an ethnic slur. Yes, my friends, here’s the sound bite. Sergeant Schultz says to Sheila Jackson Lee, ‘There’s no question Limbaugh has targeted you, Jim Clyburn. It’s been deplorable, been despicable, whatever adjective you want to use.’

LEE: You’ve been called a Sergeant Schultz. I don’t know that to be your name. You have a name that may be ethnically connected to being a sergeant, I’m not sure what that is but I find that insulting as well. I would say to Rush Limbaugh’s listeners, we all have distinctive dictation, we have accents. There are Southern accents. There are Midwestern accents. There are accents that indicate that you may have been an immigrant. I frankly find the take on various vernacular as absolutely outrageous.

RUSH: Folks, I can’t keep a straight face. ‘I frankly find the take on various vernacular as absolutely outrageous.’ Play it again, Sam, listen to this. If you can make sense of this, help me out here.

RUSH: (laughing) What she’s saying is, (imitating Lee) ‘I don’t know what he’s talking about, I don’t know what he means, calling you Sergeant Schultz, but I don’t like it. It’s absolutely outrageous the vernacular Limbaugh is using. And I, frankly, find the take on various vernacular as absolutely outrageous.’ Here is another quote from Sheila Jackson Lee. She said it this year. ‘Victory had been achieved,’ by the United States in Vietnam. She went on to state today, ‘Today, we have two Vietnams, side by side, North and South, exchanging and working.’ Side by side, North and South, two Vietnams exchanging and working. She doesn’t get the Sergeant Schultz business. Somehow this is outrageous vernacular. How would you describe this, other than hilarious? She’s an elected member of Congress. She’s a member of the Democrat Party, which, of course, folks, is a criminal enterprise simply disguised as a political party. Take a look at GM IPO if you have any doubts about that. That’s what I’m trying to tell you, Snerdley, I don’t know how else to describe this. (laughing) I mean, ethnically, vernacular challenged, or whatever she’s upset about.

Now, let’s move on because the charge of racism, blatant racism, race-baiting has been made against me because of the Obama presidency being graffiti on the walls of American history. (laughing) She must not have ever seen Hogan’s Heroes. Maybe she didn’t have a TV growing up. I don’t know. Whatever, it’s insulting. Since I’m calling him Sergeant Schultz, it has to be insulting. It’s a throwaway. It’s not even that creative. Frankly, I’m a little embarrassed it’s all I can come up with. But, nevertheless, they’re all upset here over the Driving Miss Nancy comment and the graffiti on the walls of American history.

Now, what was the Driving Miss Nancy thing all about? Martin Frost goes on MSNBC, says, (paraphrasing) ‘Look, it’s about a car. If you’re in the leadership, you get a car and a driver, get a lot of perks.’ Steny Hoyer, rich white guy, number two. He was in a race with Jim Clyburn, who was the majority whip, who did a good job. You know, and I’ve said this throughout, from a Democrat standpoint, Clyburn did a good job as majority whip. And I said that this is the Democrat Party, it’s clear who’s gonna win this. Before the vote we know Steny Hoyer is gonna be the guy. There’s no doubt, and it’s turned out that was the way it happened. And to smooth it over they’ve created a leadership position for Clyburn with a car, driver, and the perks. But the Congressional Black Caucus is not certain that this is kosher. We have a montage here, Clyburn, Emanuel Cleaver, and Barbara Lee discussing this new position.

CLYBURN: We got to see exactly what the portfolio is for this number three position.

CLEAVER: And we don’t know exactly what Jim Clyburn’s portfolio will look like.

LEE: We want to make sure that the portfolio is what it should be.

RUSH: Translate this for you: We want to make sure that it’s not just a token gig. We want to make sure that he’s actually being given something meaningful here. Last night on CNN Barbara Lee appeared, John King questioned: ‘House Democrats are supposed to meet tomorrow to move on your leadership Congressional Black Caucus on the question of whether Nancy Pelosi is to stay on as your leader. Would you like a change?’

LEE: As we speak, we’re discussing with Speaker Pelosi the entire leadership team, what makes sense in terms of moving forward to ensure that jobs are created for the country, and that the economic recovery becomes real.

RUSH: It sounds to me like they’re not happy with the leadership of the Democrat Party. It sounds to me like they’re worried here that they’re being aced out of things? Did I not call this? I did. Hundred percent right on the bull’s-eye.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Casa Grande, Arizona, Rob, thank you for waiting, sir. You are next. Hi.

CALLER: Hi, Rush. How are you?

RUSH: Very good, thank you.

CALLER: I’m a little nervous talking to you. Yeah, I’m an airline pilot, and I have some strong feelings as well as a lot of my comrades about these new enhanced TSA procedures with the body scan and the hand pat down.

RUSH: The pat downs, the love pats.

CALLER: The love pats, exactly. You know, in order for me to go to work, I have to choose between having a picture taken of me naked, or being felt up and molested. I’m not alone in this. The pilots union, the national pilots union has sent out messages saying that we advise everybody not to go through the rapid scan, the back scattering imaging system. They want to use up as many resources as possible by having agents pat us all down and hopefully that will do something, but all the pilots are on board with all the passengers, it’s just not right, it’s taking away our civil liberties.

RUSH: Let me ask you a question.

CALLER: Sure.

RUSH: As a pilot.

CALLER: Yeah.

RUSH: I want you to tell me the truth.

CALLER: Sure.

RUSH: Even if you get through the scanner.

CALLER: Huh-uh.

RUSH: Even if you get through the pat down.

CALLER: Huh-uh.

RUSH: You can still crash the plane, right?

CALLER: Absolutely.

RUSH: Okay. So what’s the point in patting you down? What is the point of subjecting you? You can still drive the plane into the ground.

CALLER: That’s exactly right. And I talked to a lot of guys I work with about this, and I’ve come to the conclusion that they’re using us as an example, that they can put us through that kind of treatment, then what foot does a passenger have to stand on that they have to be put through it.

RUSH: You know what, they better start screening for people that don’t like Bristol Palin on Dancing with the Stars, because people are shooting out their own television sets.

CALLER: Yeah.

RUSH: Can you imagine if one of these wackos got on your flight?

CALLER: Yeah. (laughing)

RUSH: You just have to flash a picture of Bristol Palin at the checkpoint and see what people do.

CALLER: That’s right. That’s right.

RUSH: Now, seriously, folks, you think I’m being flippant here, but I’m not. What kind of logic is it where you’re gonna put the pilots through this, and they can pass with flying colors, and if somebody’s bought you off or if somebody’s kidnapped your daughter, whatever it is, if you want to fly that plane into the ground, you can do it.

CALLER: Yeah, that’s right, and, you know, I’ll tell you what. I won’t subject my little girl and my boy to that pat-down. We’ll drive. You know, I won’t let ’em go through it, she’s three years old, and I don’t know what to tell you.

RUSH: I know. This is a miniature revolt out there, and what they’re saying is, ‘Hey, if you don’t like it, don’t fly.’

CALLER: Yeah. That’s right.

RUSH: Now, what I want to know — and we asked this yesterday, but it is a valid question — is your airline upset about any of this? I mean, if a lot of people have the attitude you just said, ‘My kid’s not gonna fly. They’re not patting my kids down.’ Your airline can’t possibly like this.

CALLER: Well, we got a message from one of the management, we have like an in-house union, my airline isn’t part of the major national union, but the in-house union talked to one of the management guys and said, ‘We’re advising all of our pilots to not go through the back scanner, to do the pat-down and it’ll take more time, but it might delay flights and it might cancel flights,’ and the management pilot said, ‘We don’t think you guys should have to go through, either.’

RUSH: Yeah.

CALLER: So that’s the only official word that we’ve gotten.

RUSH: No, no, no. I didn’t make myself clear. If Big Sis, if the government says, ‘If you don’t like it, don’t fly,’ what does Mr. Airline CEO or Mr. Airline shareholder say about this? The government’s targeting his business with this. And there’s a simple way to stop this stuff, it’s called profiling. We’re not doing what’s simple here. The solutions are simple. They’re just hard for some people to stomach.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: It’s a little Ohio Players, Love Rollercoaster. By the way, the Democrats just reelected Pelosi (laughing) as their leader. And here’s the story. Wait, what did I do with it? Communist Party USA. Yep, right here. Let’s see. ‘[Communist] Progressive Caucus… Will Now Have a More Prominent Role Within[.]’ It’s like Stalin said (paraphrase): ‘We may have fewer communists, but they’re pure.’ This is the Communist Party newspaper, Communist Party USA Political Action Committee, Joelle Fishman, and I got a picture of her here. ‘Lenin observed that no strike is lost, because workers learn from the experience and become stronger… The Progressive Caucus, which lost only three members out of 80, will now have a more prominent role within the smaller minority Democratic caucus. Co-chair Raul Grijalva of Arizona, who was among those targeted by the right-wing because of his stands for immigration reform, defeated his Tea Party opponent with an outpouring of support from labor, peace,’ and other communist groups. ‘The new political landscape will demand a lot of street heat and unity and tactics to enlarge the coalition and keep the Republicans in check[.]’ This is off the Communist Party USA. They’re very happy.

Now, over at the Washington Post, there’s a story: ‘House Democrats Meet Privately to Regroup After Midterm Election Losses.’ One Democrat loser is quoted in this story as saying Pelosi is the ‘face of our defeat.’ That’s Allen Boyd. And then they went to Heath Shuler, and he’s from Tennessee — I’m sorry, North Carolina. Heath Shuler from North Carolina. He was Pelosi’s lone challenger for minority leader. He said, ‘When I played in the NFL, and you lost significantly, you were replaced’ — that’s true, that’s why he’s in Congress — ‘and I had that conversation direct with her.’ He’s a former Redskins quarterback. He was a high draft choice; didn’t pan out. But Pelosi’s — (laughing) — you gotta love it. They kept the same leadership. In fact, the Congressional Black Caucus, just moments ago, signed off, gave their stamp of approval to Clyburn’s new leadership position. So whatever she did in there, she brought it off, folks. I’ll tell you what — (interruption) Well, yeah, Clyburn is driving his own car now — well, no, no, somebody is driving Mr. Clyburn now. It all worked out.

Speaking of that, if you missed the first hour, the American left is in a tizzy today. This is from Mediaite: ‘Rush Limbaugh Race-Bait du Jour:’ — he-he-he — ‘Obama and ‘Gang’ are ‘Graffiti’ on Walls of American History.’ (laughing) This is Andrew Sullivan. Andrew Sullivan, The Atlantic, is fit to be tied because apparently graffiti means black, and so does gang, to him. Anyway, ‘Conservative radio host and serial race-baiter Rush Limbaugh has done it again. To no one’s surprise, Limbaugh accompanied a rant about how Barack Obama’s presidency is ‘graffiti on the walls of American history” — I love the line, I must tell you — ‘with both a reference to Obama’s ‘gang,’ and a mock-up of a ‘tagged’ Mount Rushmore on his website. The Atlantic’s Andrew Sullivan calls Rush out for his worn-out tactics, but fails to put a fine enough point on it. Rush Limbaugh is not only a race-baiter, he is a coward. Listen to the segment after the jump.’ And this on Mediaite. Yeah, it’s a blog that Dan Abrams, used to be at PMSNBC, started. Oh, boy, Dan Abrams. Dan Abrams. (interruption) Yeah, he had a show, a legal show on MSNBC, six o’clock. I think he did. I think Dan Abrams was the general manager, he ran the place. Sergeant Schultz now has his show. Same audience, too. (laughing)

I gotta go back for people that didn’t hear this. We gotta find Sheila Jackson Lee. I think it’s sound bite number five, grab number five. If you missed this, this is last night on Sergeant Schultz’s show on MSNBC, this is Sheila Jackson Lee, congresswoman, Democrat from Texas. And Sergeant Schultz said, ‘There’s no question Limbaugh has targeted you, he’s targeted James Clyburn, it’s been deplorable, despicable, whatever adjective you want to use.’

LEE: You’ve been called a Sergeant Schultz. I don’t know that to be your name. You have a name that may be ethnically connected to being a sergeant, I’m not sure what that is but I find that insulting as well. I would say —

RUSH: Stop just a second. How is somebody ‘ethical connected to being a sergeant’? How do you get ethnicity out of sergeant? Recue this, Mike. Go to the top. I don’t know how… These are people sitting around, waiting to be offended, waiting to be racially offend, waiting to be mad about something. But it gets even better (paraphrase): ‘You’ve been called a Sergeant Schultz. I don’t know that to be your name. I’m a little sensitive to, you know, ethnically connected to being a sergeant.’ This is gibberish. It is genuine gibberish.

This is a woman who once during the Clinton — folks, I kid you not — impeachment hearings, Sheila Jackson Lee wanted the Bill of Rights read aloud so there would be a written record of them in the Congressional Record. (interruption) You don’t understand? She wanted the Bill of Rights read aloud so there would be a written record of them. (laughing) Don’t make me explain this, because they’ll call me a racist if I have to explain this. I’m not gonna explain it. She wanted a written record of the Bill of Rights, and therefore asked that they be read aloud. I know she can’t help it. This is a woman also, over at NASA watching the Mars rover wander around the surface of Mars, ask NASA officials (paraphrase), ‘Well, will it get over to where the astronauts planted the flag on Mars?’ And, of course, NASA officials, realizing that there are cameras there, and realizing this woman votes on their funding, said, ‘Not this trip.’

Okay, here’s the sound bite where she is outraged over my various ‘vernacular’ at Sergeant Schultz.

RUSH: Okay, ‘ethnically connected being a sergeant,’ finds that outrageous — insulting, I should say — and then the take on various vernacular as absolutely outrageous, wants you people to know that there are accents, Southern, Midwestern, even accents to indicate that you’re an immigrant. What was the immigrant accent? What is… Let’s see. How about this accent (Bill Clinton imitation): ‘I did not have sex a single time with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky, not a single time, and I never asked anybody to lie.’ What accent is that? Horny? (laughing) I’m sorry the week is ending.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Here’s the actual quote from Sheila Jackson Lee on the Mars rover. She actually made the remarks during NASA hearings that she was chairing, and that’s why the NASA guys, I mean this woman’s in charge of their funding and that’s why they said, ‘Not this trip.’ What she actually said in 1997, Sheila Jackson Lee, who, by the way, we have to assume makes sense in her district. They understand her there. ‘In 1997, Sheila Jackson Lee made news during a subcommittee briefing when she asked a NASA scientist if the Mars Pathfinder had photographed the flag that Neil Armstrong had left behind.’ Also, some of the most famous graffiti in the world is ‘Kilroy was here.’ World War II. I’m sure Sergeant Schultz would not understand that reference. I think, you know, Sheila Jackson Lee, she’s asked a question, and she knows that she’s gotta say something for 30 seconds, so syllables come out with words that are like knee-jerk reaction kinda words, like Bush Hitler, things that these people think and say, and some of them make sense when they’re put together and some of them don’t. And then at the end of the 30 seconds you then say you’re outraged, and that’s the sound bite. Then she looks at the camera very pleased with herself.

I first noticed this watching the MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour way back in the late eighties, early nineties. There was a guest by the name of Dimitri Simes from some Washington think tank and he spoke with a very heavy eastern European accent, and I got the biggest chuckle watching this guy because I couldn’t understand what he was saying except when he said Bush’s name. (imitating Simes) ‘(mutter) Bush, (muttering) Bush, (muttering) Bush,’ and he’d look at the camera with a big smile like he was as satisfied as he could be. And the only thing I understood him say was Bush. Folks, I study this stuff, you know, I am in the spoken word business. As you know I’m one of the world’s most renowned mimics, and I make it almost a scientific study of the way people speak and what they say. The way to understand this, Sheila Jackson Lee, when she speaks, it’s like the difference between random typing and writing. If you just sit at a keyboard and start pounding it, versus writing something, and all the while this is happening, Uncle Schultz is sitting there looking like he understands every word of it. Uncle Schultz is nodding with great appreciation and understanding, which of course when Uncle Schultz nods it just encourages Sheila Jackson Lee to continue.
