Environmentalist wackos and so-called “green energy advocates” are hopping mad over the tax-cut framework agreement that Obama worked out with Republicans because it doesn’t include one of their favorite handouts.
Missing from the deal is an extension of a Treasury Department grant program that’s funneled billions of dollars to “green projects.” The American Wind Energy Association and the Solar Energy Industries Association are among the groups reportedly dismayed that the spigot of taxpayer money funding green energy projects might be turned off. They warn that tens of thousands of jobs are at risk.
Republicans point out that, yes, the grants are producing jobs in China, and inother foreign countries. No matter; the green advocates are furious, and are demanding theDemocrats draw a line in the sand to make sure their federal handouts continue.
The entire tax deal is not a slam dunk. TheDemocrats are already chomping mad at Obama for signing onto it and many of them are demanding changes. This green energy wrinkle is just one more item of contention.
Look, folks. If “green energy” was all it’s cracked up to be, and you, the American consumer wanted it, the taxpayers wouldn’t have to fund it out of little known Treasury grants. The underlying premise, global warming, is a hoax anyway. It’s a fraud.
In this case, the answer is notblowing in the wind: it’s right in front of our noses. If you want to cut spending, start here with these green boobs.
