RUSH: Now, as to the Oprah and Obama stunt, just a couple things. You know, Oprah used two of Mrs. Clinton’s stunts. She wore a pantsuit, and she pretended to be black. Well, I know Oprah’s black, Mr. Snerdley, but to Democrats, black isn’t black, because Bill Clinton is black. He was the first black president. Oprah had to go up there and pretend, she did, she did the same voice that Hillary did down there before the Selma crowd. The pundits are pondering or bloviating how much or how little The Oprah will affect the Obama campaign, but the real tea leaf here is The Oprah’s effect on the Clinton campaign, and in one word it’s panic.

Al Hunt writes for Bloomberg now, has this piece today about the panic that has beset and befallen the Clinton campaign. The Barbra Streisand thing didn’t work. Shortly after Obama announced The Oprah, the Clinton people went out and polled people to find out, ‘Who among celebrities would you like to see endorse Hillary?’ And it came back, BS, Barbra Streisand. Have you heard anything from Barbra Streisand? No. So what happened? They rushed out mother Rodham and they rushed out daughter Rodham, rushed out Chelsea, who, up ’til now is supposed to be off-limits, you can’t ask ’em about Chelsea, and you can’t ask Chelsea about her parents, off-limits. But there was a picture of Chelsea and Mrs. Rodham at a Clinton rally, and I saw a little cartoon, bubbles placed on the picture saying, ‘I hate Oprah.’ ‘I do, too,’ they were saying it to each other. Then, of course, we have Andrew Young. Could we go to audio sound bite number five, Mister Broadcast Engineer? This is recently posted at NewsmakersLive.com. It’s a website that focuses on African-American issues. Former UN ambassador Andrew Young the guest. An audience member says, ‘Two words, ‘Barack Obama.’ Would you care to comment?’

YOUNG: I want Barack Obama to be president… (applause) …in 2016. (laughter) Barack Obama does not have the support network yet to get to be president. The Clintons have — he’s — he’s smart, he’s brilliant. But you cannot be president alone. Hillary Clinton, first of all, has Bill behind her, and Bill is every bit as black as Barack. He’s probably gone with more black women than Barack.

RUSH: They’re applauding this! Now, he said, I’m fooling, I’m teasing, or whatever. But was he? This is fascinating. When Andrew Young says that Bill Clinton has gone with more black women than Barack has, and it is something that is a credit to Hillary Clinton? This was a campaign appearance for Hillary Clinton, and here he’s talking about, yeah, Clinton, been with more black women than Barack, and that’s supposed to be a favorable thing for Hillary! Not to mention, what does it say about black women and not to mention what does it say about Bill Clinton? What it says to me is that Bill Clinton is a soap opera figure to these people. The appeal that I think that these people have for Clinton, or that Clinton has to them, is not policy-related, it’s nothing to do with that. I think, as pop culture in our society has become, as our culture has become, Clinton has been made larger than life. He’s a force of nature. He’s constantly in trouble; he has this big mystique about who’s he dating today and then who’s he going to be dating tomorrow, and that has redounded to people’s curiosity.

So this offered by Andrew Young is considered a compliment. This is something that’s supposed to boost Hillary while denigrating Barack. Barack hasn’t slept around with as many black women as Bill Clinton has. (interruption) What, Mr. Snerdley, what? Of course, it’s totally disgusting! This is the point I’m trying to make! It’s totally disgusting. It’s who these people are, though. Did you hear the applause that he got? I’m trying to tell you that there’s no reason to fear the Clintons based on the American people loving their policy. It’s a soap opera, they want to watch it every day. It’s like a car crash, they want to be there. They want to see these two survive it. There’s no deep support for — hell, Bill Clinton never got more than 49% of the vote in this country. Where is all this backup for the fact that he’s loved and adored by the people of this country? Here’s another further comment from Andrew Young at the same forum.

YOUNG: If you read about the Clintons, when Clinton decided to run, Hillary sat on the defense committee, and that’s what they called it. And you know what it was? It was to go around and neutralize all the women that he’d ever been involved with. She got her friends to be on the defense committee to protect him from the attacks.

RUSH: What attacks? If they were true — did you hear what he just said? It was to go around and neutralize all the women he’d ever been involved with. This was an endorsement, a campaign appearance for Hillary Clinton. Bimbo eruptions unit, and she ran it. We were told all those years that Betsy Wright ran it, but we know that Hillary was in charge of it, and that’s what she has 35 years of experience at. October 18th, 2007, on my program, this is me.

RUSH ARCHIVE: Hillary Clinton and her allies repeatedly say she has 35 years of relevant experience. Now, she’s only been an elected official seven years, but the drumbeat of sound bites and statements touting the 35-year figure appears to have paid off. Even her Democrat rivals prefer to assail her electability rather than her experience. Well, what experience does she have? You know, folks, she’s got 35 years experience in bimbo eruptions, and I’m not trying to be funny.

RUSH: I’ve just had it confirmed, you’ve just had it confirmed by Andrew Young, who said over the weekend, you know what it was, you know what Hillary Clinton decided, set up a defense committee, and that’s what they called it, it was to go around and neutralize all the women he had ever been involved with. She got her friends to be on the defense committee to protect him from the attacks. Bill Clinton’s been with more black women than Barack has.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: The staff on the other side of the glass, folks, are just all paranoid now because when I said that Oprah pulled a couple of Hillary stunts, that the first thing she did was wear a pantsuit, and then she pretended to be black, went on to say, I know, I know Oprah’s black, but to Democrats black isn’t black because Bill Clinton is black, as Andrew Young has just confirmed. So these guys are all convinced in there that the Drive-Bys are going to purposely take me out of context and report that I said Oprah isn’t black. Well, who does that? Media Matters for America. Media Matters, a Clinton front group; and as such, anything that harms Oprah and Obama, they’ll probably praise it. (laughing)

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: This is Darren in Morrisville, North Carolina, glad you called, sir. Welcome to the EIB Network.

CALLER: Oh, Rush, I’m a trucker, I’m on the road, and I don’t want you to think you’ve won me over or anything, but I have been a fan of Andrew Young for many years, and it is gone now. I am done with it. I am sick, sick to my stomach right now. I could spit fire. What he said regarding Bill Clinton having been with more black women than Obama, it’s first insulting and demeaning to black women, first of all. Next of all, it should reflect on what kind of man Bill Clinton is. I am now disgusted with the whole Clinton family. I hate to say that. You haven’t won me over, but I am just letting you know I am right now as angry as I could ever be —

RUSH: Darren —

CALLER: — at Andrew Young. I don’t even want to say his name.

RUSH: I may not have won you over, but I’m close.

CALLER: Well, maybe so. Maybe so. Because I’m seeing how we — I’ve been listening to you for a few weeks now. I’ve heard you a few years ago, shut you off. I turned you back on, and just actually passed through town. But the point I’m trying to make is, I’m insulted right now.

RUSH: So am I.

CALLER: Don’t want to have anything —

RUSH: I think every Democrat, I think every person ought to be insulted by this that hears this. It’s insulting to black women, number one. Did it ever insult you, by the way, that Bill Clinton was considered the first black president? And that people like Maya Angelou bestowed that title on him?

CALLER: No, it didn’t really bother me because I know what is meant by it, what they’re trying to say, you know, but right now, this —

RUSH: It was a fraud. It was a scam. Clinton didn’t do anything for black people.

CALLER: Well, that’s what I’m trying to say. I’m now beginning to see something that I hadn’t thought of before, of the way in which we are being used, and now the term saying that he’s the first black president, now I don’t want to come close to it. He’s beginning to make me hate. That right there, Andrew Young has shown me something by that comment. I don’t know where I’m going to go right now. I’m going to have to think about things —

RUSH: Well, I gotta tell you this. When AP ran the story about Andrew Young, I think it was AP, somebody that ran a story, saw it on the Internet yesterday over the weekend, they ran a picture of Bill Clinton in a South Carolina restaurant surrounded by black women wanting his autograph and just basically ogling him.

CALLER: Well, so be it, that’s the way it is, it’s almost like —

RUSH: Yeah, in the Drive-By Media context, in the Andrew Young world, somehow, this is the perversion here, Darren, is this is supposed to be helpful to Mrs. Clinton, this is supposed to be something that is going to rally black support for Mrs. Clinton and her husband. That’s what the perversion to me is.

CALLER: No, my support is gone now. I may go toward Barack now, but I wasn’t strong on him, but even now just the whole party apparatus has now made me sick and to see those silly women, to hear those stupid women in the background laughing at this.

RUSH: Let me ask you a question. Darren, do you own your truck? You said you’re a trucker, do you own your truck?

CALLER: No, I don’t.

RUSH: You don’t. Well, too bad.

CALLER: No, I just work for a company.

RUSH: Well, because we’d love to have you. A lot of truckers are entrepreneurs, and entrepreneurs understand the need to get government out of their lives in terms of regulation and so forth. You’ll probably own a truck someday, Darren, you will probably advance to the point you’ll be able to buy a truck and start your own company, when that happens, based on all these other things you’ve said, you might be tempted to join us.

CALLER: Well, you know, Rush, I’m going to say something. I remember a number of years ago having a discussion with a friend, and he said we, as black people, we’re like stupid sheep sometimes in how we just follow. And I argued with him and said, we have to stick together, but, you know what? He began to make some sense in what he said. And I hate to say that about my own people, how we follow so blindly this party that is really just molesting us, and that’s what I’m looking at, we’re being molested right now, and, like I say, I don’t know where I’m going to go, but I’m —

RUSH: When you say your people, I understand what you mean, I really do. But you know what my sincere dream is in my large beating heart, is that when you someday down the road in your future, when you say ‘my people,’ that you’re talking about the American people as a whole, not one group or any other group. I know your heritage and I know how tough it is to separate yourself, and I’m not suggesting you do it, but when we’re all as Americans in this together and we consider all of us to be our people, that’s when things happen for the better.

CALLER: Well, I want to say that Andrew Young is no longer my people. I’m excluding him.

RUSH: Well, I’m glad to hear from you. I don’t blame you. I can totally, totally understand this. It is profoundly insulting, even if he wants to say it’s a joke. But beyond all that, it illustrates what the real affection and admiration for Bill Clinton is. He’s a rogue! He lives a life supposedly that a lot of other guys wish they could live. By the way, I will also say this to you, Darren. Even though Andrew Young said that Bill Clinton’s been with more black women than Barack has, Barack has been married to more black women than Bill Clinton has. The number is one.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: By the way, minor little correction here. Ahem, ahem. Clearing of the throat, a little William F. Buckley impersonation. (clearing throat loudly) It was not Maya Angelou who referred to Bill Clinton as the first black president; it was Toni Morrison. What is she, a playwright or something? She’s an author, a distant relative of Maya Angelou? Distant relative of you, Mr. Snerdley? Toni Morrison is a distant relative? Congratulations, because you have separated nicely in a number of ways. But I want you to listen to what she said, when Toni Morrison — and, Darren, I know you’re still out there in your truck. I want you to listen, when Toni Morrison labeled Clinton the first black president, when you listen to what she said; it doesn’t sound like it’s positives. Remember this? Morrison caused a stir when she called Bill Clinton the first black president, saying, quote, ‘Clinton displays almost every trope of blackness: single-parent household, born poor, working-class, saxophone playing, McDonald’s- and junk food-loving boy from Arkansas.’ This opinion was adopted by Clinton supporters like the Congressional Black Caucus, ridiculed by critics. I think this is on Wikipedia. (interruption) I know it’s called profiling in other places. In this case, it is every trope of blackness. There’s nothing in there about distinguished achievement. So it’s mind-boggling.

Here’s Matt in Meadow Creek, Michigan. Matt, I’m glad you called. Nice to have you with us on the EIB Network.

CALLER: Hey, Rush, mega dittos. I’m wondering, where is this outcry in this comparison over this Young comment, when, if we recall not too long ago, Republicans ran an ad against Harold Ford, Jr., that depicted a white girl at the end of the ad saying, ‘Hey, Harold, call me,’ and everybody just went nuts over that.

RUSH: I’m going to try to explain this to you based on a fascinating piece I read over the weekend in the American Thinker by a clinical psychoanalyst or psychologist or something, Stephen Rittenberg is his name, and it’s a very long piece. I don’t even want to try to excerpt it because some of it was a bit over the top. But, this question comes up constantly, ‘Why do the libs excuse people on their side from every form of aberrant behavior or perversion and yet seek to zero in on enemies and call ’em hypocrites or to be critical of them for it?’ Now, the basic theory here is that liberalism itself is a perversion. This is from a psychoanalysis. And, frankly, by the way, I don’t care why they’re the way they are. I just want to beat them. I’m through trying to figure out why they’re the way they are. All I know is that they’re dangerous when they’re in power.

But the bottom line is this, if you want to hear what this guy had to say, and I’ll try to summarize it as best I can. He starts out by explaining, or asking, how in the world is it that American liberals have absolutely no condemnation for the acts of militant jihadists, be it the torture and assassination of Daniel Pearl or others we have seen. He recounts a story that he read in a Pakistan newspaper, this has not appeared in the American media. I think it was — let’s just say an Islamofascist family, I’m not sure where it was, I want to say Israel, Gaza somewhere, I’m not sure I remember. But the point is that a one-year-old boy was strapped with explosives, sent out into a crowd and blown up, and a hundred people died, one hundred Jewish people died. It’s such insignificant news that it doesn’t even make it into the US media, and the reason it doesn’t make it is it doesn’t raise any hackles. This is considered to be a just response to the oppressive power of the Zionist lobby and all, whatever it is that these people think exists. So it goes from the jihadists as a perversion against nature to liberalism. I think it’s a little bit over the top in terms of the analogy, but basically it is this: They want sameness in everybody, and they want no differences.

That’s why affirmative action — that’s why they don’t want any difference between men and women; they don’t want any difference between the genders; they want no judgments on anybody whatsoever, especially themselves. So the people they consider the enemy are not the jihadists, and not the people who strap bombs to their one-year-old babies and blow ’em up. The enemy to liberals are people who would condemn the mores of Bill Clinton. The enemy of liberalism is anybody who would criticize any perverted behavior because a nonjudgmental, anything-goes freedom with themselves in charge is essentially what liberals want. So the real threat that liberals face is not Bill Clinton. They don’t think Bill Clinton’s undermining them. Bill Clinton is expanding their desires. Bill Clinton and jokes like Andrew Young told, ‘He’s been with more black women than Barack,’ that’s a resume enhancement in their perverted world.

You say, ‘Where’s the outrage?’ There isn’t any. They’re all chuckling about it. They’re all saying, ‘What a great guy,’ look at what Clinton’s getting away with, look at what he’s getting away with. He’s being applauded and so forth. And yet activity that’s far less perverted than that is routinely condemned, because it is the condemnation of their enemies that matters most. Clinton’s not an enemy; they don’t consider the jihadists their enemy. They do consider George W. Bush their enemy. Look, I’m really summarizing this and very briefly, and it’s far more intricate and detailed than this. I’ll tell you what, we’ll link to it at RushLimbaugh.com, so you can read this whole thing, because it’s quite lengthy as well. But again, the bottom line, I don’t care, I really don’t care anymore to analyze why they do what they do — it’s just time to beat them.
