Imam: Hasan “Did the Right Thing”

by Rush Limbaugh - May 19,2011

RUSH: Now, I just had sent to me via e-mail a blog post, a blog post from the imam who was at the Falls Church, Virginia, mosque when the 9/11 terrorists and the Hasan guy was there. The imam now lives in Yemen. And the headline on his blog post, if it’s really him, ‘Nidal Hassan [sic] Did the Right Thing — Nidal Hassan [sic] is a hero. He is a man of conscience who could not bear living the contradiction of being a Muslim and serving in an army that is fighting against his own people. This is a contradiction that many Muslims brush aside and just pretend that it doesn’t exist. Any decent Muslim cannot live, understanding properly his duties towards his Creator and his fellow Muslims, and yet serve as a US soldier. The US is leading the war against terrorism which in reality is a war against Islam. Its army is directly invading two Muslim countries and indirectly occupying the rest through its stooges. Nidal opened fire on soldiers who were on their way to be deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. How can there be any dispute about the virtue of what he has done?’ Sounds like the old imam here is jumping to conclusions! Wonder if Obama is going to get on the phone here and try to, you know, dial the guy back.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Peter in Rochester, New York, welcome, sir, to the EIB Network.

CALLER: Rush, ‘for the first time in my adult life I am proud to be’ from New Jersey.

RUSH: (laughing) You’re the first one, man.

CALLER: (laughing)

RUSH: You’re the first one to call and tell us that.

CALLER: God bless your caller from Newman, Virginia. Listen, I’ll get right to the point. I heard over the weekend that there are still around a thousand or thereabouts people of Muslim religion in the armed forces in America. And I wonder what thoughts do you have about that. You know, FDR would round ’em up. Will Obama give each of them a Secret Service detail or what? I mean, it could potentially be a problem.

RUSH: Why do you say that?

CALLER: Well, because of, um… You know, if there’s any of those — even one out of the thousand more is — in contact with these Al-Qaeda thugs, we could have another Fort Hood.

RUSH: Ah, we mustn’t jump to conclusions. Even though he was in contact with the Al-Qaeda people — even though he did attend the mosque with the radical imam with a couple of 9/11 hijackers and even though he shouted, ‘Allahu Akbar!’ when he opened fire, even though he was ‘Palestinian,’ even though he told everybody a couple days before he was going to miss ’em — we really shouldn’t jump to conclusions on this.

CALLER: Yeah, all of that is just coincidence.

RUSH: Well…

CALLER: (laughing) Right?

RUSH: No. It’s not just coincidence. No. It means quite a lot. We just can’t jump to the conclusion of what it means. We have to take our time getting there and find out how we can blame ourselves for all of that having happened. And that’s what’s taking place now. I gotta run. I’m glad you called and I can understand how exhilarated you feel, even if only temporarily, to be proud to be from New Jersey.
