Caller: This Show Opened My Eyes

by Rush Limbaugh - Oct 29,2012

RUSH: Here is Brian in Los Angeles, and I’m glad you called, sir. It’s great to have you here. Hi.

CALLER: Hello, Rush. How are you doing today?

RUSH: Very well. Thank you.

CALLER: I just wanted to let you know what a profound impact you’ve had on my life. I’ve only been listening for about three months, and I really haven’t followed politics not at all in my life. But because of you and my in-laws as well — they kind of pushed me in your direction — we ended up watching… Excuse me, I’m a little nervous. But we ended up last night watching 2016, and an eye opener it was. I think it even goes beyond a Democratic-and-Republican issue. It’s an American issue.

RUSH: Yeah.

CALLER: And it was frightening, to tell you the truth. It was absolutely frightening.

RUSH: So you weren’t following politics at all your whole life. How old are you now?

CALLER: Forty-eight. (chuckles)

RUSH: You’re 48. What was it? What was it that made you think you ought to get into it?

CALLER: Well, you. You and the information that you cite. You know, you don’t BS anybody.

RUSH: Yeah, but how did you come across me? You’re out there avoiding politics. How did you come across me? Your in-laws?

CALLER: Yeah, my in-laws. They’re Republican. Actually, they’ve always voted Republican. They’re actually registered as independents.

RUSH: So what they’re probably telling you is, “You’ve got to listen to this Rush guy. You’ve got to.” And youÂ’re saying, “No, no. I don’t like politics. I don’t want any politics. ItÂ’s the same old bunch of liars. I don’t want to get into it.” But they respond, “You gotta listen to this Rush guy,” and you finally did?

CALLER: Yeah. You know, I’ve been a union member for many, many years —

RUSH: A-ha.

CALLER: — and it’s always been pushed as far as, you know, Democratic, Democratic, Democratic.

RUSH: Yeah, yeah.

CALLER: I’ve ignored that, too, because I didn’t necessarily drink that Kool-Aid either.

RUSH: You know, that’s okay. You’re here now. You’re here now. That’s what counts. And it’s great to have you here. ItÂ’s great to have you in our audience. Thank you very much, Brian.
