Shouldn’t the Accuracy Rating Really be Higher?

by Rush Limbaugh - Jul 18,2013

RUSH: Here’s Jeff in Minneapolis. Hi, Jeff. Welcome to the program. Great to have you.

CALLER: Hi, Rush. I’ve been listening to you since ’93 since my older brother kind of got me hooked on to you, and I know that you are documented to be, is it 98.7 now, I think it went up, percent always right?

RUSH: Right now it’s been documented as almost always right 99.7% of the time.

CALLER: 99.7. Well, my question is, I’ve been listening to you now, what, 20 years, why is it so low?

RUSH: Well, it’s not really low. At this level, when you are —

CALLER: Yeah?

RUSH: — by virtue of official opinion audits almost always right 99.7% of the time, I have to be right maybe —

CALLER: A lot.

RUSH: — I mean 100% right for a year to move it up one-tenth of a point. I mean, when you’re almost always right 50% of the time, then you don’t have to be right very often to move it up.

CALLER: Right.

RUSH: But when you’re at the level I’m at, in fact in ’93, when you said you were listening, I’d have to look it up, but I think it was like 96-point-something back then. That’s how slow the process is.

CALLER: I used to watch you a lot in college, your TV show, and boy, it was rough there watching you in college on a TV with all the other people around you. But, boy, I’m impressed with that number and I’m surprised that it has not gone up a little bit higher over the years.

RUSH: Well —

CALLER: I know it’s hard, but —

RUSH: Look, I know, and I appreciate this. I myself have — you know, I’ve never said this, but I’ve disputed the Sullivan Group’s audits a couple times. I mean, there have been — see, the problem is it doesn’t matter if I’m really profoundly right when everybody else is wrong. There’s no extra credit for that. Even when I’m the only one who got it, there’s no extra credit for it. And I’ve disputed them I think a couple of times, and they’ve showed me the data. And they’ve been right.
