Assad Wants a Billion to Get Rid of Weapons

by Rush Limbaugh - Sep 19,2013

RUSH: Bashar Assad wants $1 billion to get rid of his chemical weapons. You talk about a shakedown? Bashar says it’s gonna take him a year and $1 billion to get rid of his weapons.

ASSAD: As I say, the relation depends on the credibility of the administration. We never looked at the United States as enemy. We never looked at the American people as enemy. We always like to have good relations with every country in the world, first of all, the United States, because they’re the greatest country in the world. That’s normal. That’s self-evident.

RUSH: Really? (chuckles) Putin doesn’t think so! (laughing) Not anymore. (impression) “Greatest country in the world, United States. Of course, we love Americans. American policy. They want us to have no nukes? We’ll have no nukes! They want no chemical weapons? We’ll have no chemical weapons. But it’s going to cost you. We want $1 billion.” Here’s the next bite, number 18.

ASSAD: It needs a lot of money. It needs about 1 billion. Eh, it’s very detrimental to the environment. If the American administration is ready to pay those (sic) money and to take responsibility of bringing toxic materials to the United States, why don’t they do it?

RUSH: Man, do these people know how to play us or what? Their chemical weapons are very bad for the environment (impression), “and we need a lot of money. It needs about a billion dollar, a billion dollar, very detrimental to the environment! Is the American administration ready to pay those money, pay those money $1 billion to take our chemical weapons?” What, we’re gonna take the weapons? Is that part of the new deal, we’re gonna buy ’em now? (chuckling) One year to get rid of ’em, $1 billion to get rid of ’em and we’re gonna get ’em? That’s not gonna happen, Putin’s gonna get ’em and they’re gonna go to his Hezbollah.

But I don’t doubt Bashar’s gonna get his billion, because Obama buys everything he needs.
