CALLER: Hi, Rush. It’s an honor to talk to you.
RUSH: Thank you very much, sir. I appreciate that.
CALLER: I wanted to talk about the Rush Revere books, but I wanted to let you know I really appreciate your show. I started listening to you in the early nineties when I was in my teens working in a field and just sort of the last few years have grown up with it. And I just really felt like I got to know you a little better when I listen to you — or saw you — on the William Shatner interview. I heard a caller go on about that and I pulled it up and it was very inspiring to hear you talk about the things you’ve overcome, and so I just want to thank you for that interview.
RUSH: Thank you.
CALLER: It was really good.
RUSH: You looked up the Shatner interview, huh?
CALLER: Yes, sir.
RUSH: I’m flattered.
CALLER: It was awesome.
RUSH: I enjoyed it. That was one of my favorite interviews I’ve done, and I’m glad you took the time to look that up.
CALLER: Yes, I’d heard another caller go on about it. I’ve always been a fan of Mr. Shatner, and I thought, “Huh. Okay,” and I pulled it up, and sure enough I was glad I watched. It was really good. I basically just want to say thanks for the Rush Revere books you’ve written. I have five kids between ages one and 13. I knew you had talent. But I didn’t know how they would relate to it as far as you relating to kids and I was pleasantly surprised. I knew it would be good, but I wasn’t expecting it to be that good ’cause the kids actually laugh through it and actually enjoy it. They actually learn something. They’re getting to hear something they really enjoy and learn something.
RUSH: Well, you are really making my day here. This has been a good week for me in terms of the nice things that people are saying to me. That’s very flattering, and I appreciate it very much, because when I hear that kids of your age like the book, that’s exactly what was the aim. That’s the objective. They will… They’re not through liking books. Look, I’m so hamstrung here. I’m chomping at the bit, and it won’t be long, folks. It won’t be long. But it’s heartwarming and I really appreciate your sentiments. Thank you very much.
