RUSH: So how about Barack Obama, how about this guy? You’ve got all these Democrats, these Democrat incumbents, and they’re running for reelection, and they don’t want him anywhere near them. They’re doing everything they can to distance themselves from his policies, because the polling data is what it is. We talked yesterday about people who think the country’s wandering aimlessly, no direction, things are spiraling out of control.

There’s no accountability. There’s no reliability. Everything, all these traditions, all these institutions that people used to be able to count on and rely on have gone kaput now. There’s no trust in these institutions, most of them in government, most of them being run by the Regime. So the polling data is not good and all these Democrats running for office don’t want Obama anywhere near them. One did ask him in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, a black Democrat candidate running for governor of Maryland, Obama shows up there, and a primarily black audience heckled him and walked out before he was finished. So what’s Obama do?

How many times have we discussed on this program that Obama really doesn’t care about anybody but himself? He doesn’t care about the Democrat Party, except to the extent that it can help him. He’s out there saying (imitating Obama), “Hey, hey, these people that are running away from me, hey, they all voted with me. They’re my henchmen. They’re the ones that made what I wanted to do possible.” He’s just throwing ’em all under the bus. (laughing)

He’s throwing them all overboard, every one of them. And they’re trying to do it with respect. I mean, he is the POTUS. They’re trying to be respectful when they let it be known, primarily to voters, that they are not on the same page with Obama anymore. They’re trying to be respectful when they ask him not to show up. Obviously he’s taking this very badly. Obviously he’s taking this very personal, ’cause he goes out there and says (imitating Obama), “Hey, hey, these are all my henchmen.” That’s what he called them. (laughing) “They’re all my henchmen. These are the guys that are voting for what I believe in. These are the guys that helped me accomplish what we’ve accomplished here.” Bam, anvil.

I mean, this is like the Road Runner and the coyote, and the Democrats are the coyote, and the Acme Anvil Company made one that just kaboomed ’em on the top of the head, thrown by Obama off the cliff after he tossed them over.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Grab audio sound bite number eight, Friday, make sure that this is — yeah, yeah, yeah.

I mentioned at the top of the program that Barack Obama is out there throwing incumbent Democrats running for reelection overboard. These Democrats don’t want to be anywhere near him; they don’t want him anywhere near them. They are distancing themselves from his policies. They are distancing themselves from him. It is well known that his approval numbers are way down. The bloom is off the rose. Obama 2014 bears no resemblance to Obama 2008. These incumbent Democrats look at Obama as a drag. They have expressly said they don’t want him to campaign for them.

So, naturally, Obama’s being asked about this. And his answer is to throw them all overboard. He appeared on the radio yesterday.
He went on a radio show that has a very small, almost nonexistent audience. And I’m sure it’s maybe partly because this show’s audience is so tiny that he thought he could perhaps get away with saying this. Maybe not. Maybe he knew. Nah. He knew. He knew despite the tininess of the particular show’s audience he went on that it would be reported. I just want you to hear it from him.

He throws them overboard and he basically gives the Republican opponents of these Democrats a huge gift, to a certain extent. Now, I want to couch this by reminding everybody, the Drive-By Media is going nuts over this. They think this a huge Obama gaffe. They think that this is very inconsiderate. Why would Obama do this? In fact, the Washington Post headline: “Obama Giftwraps Another Sound Bite For Republicans.” I’m not so sure it’s that big a deal, particularly with low-information voters. But here’s the sound bite from which the supposed Republican sound bite could be taken.

OBAMA: A lot of the states that are contested this time are states that I didn’t win. And so some of the candidates there, you know, it is difficult for them to have me in the state because the Republicans will use that to try to fan Republican turnout. The bottom line is, though, these are all folks who vote with me. They have supported my agenda in Congress. They are on the right side of minimum wage. They are on the right side of fair pay. They are on the right side of rebuilding our infrastructure. They’re on the right side of early childhood education. These are folks who are strong allies and supporters of me, and I tell them, I said, “You know what, you do what you need to win.”

RUSH: So the Democrats are out saying they have nothing to do with Obama. Some of them are actually going to great pains to distance themselves from Obama. It’s Al Sharpton’s radio show. He goes on Sharpton’s radio show (paraphrasing), “Oh, no, these people love me. They’ve made my agenda possible. Why, these people vote with me on everything. These people agree with me on everything. They’re just doing what they have to do to win.” It’s a major, major, major insult to these people. The real question is how many ordinary, everyday, average voters are gonna — even if the Republicans do put a commercial together based on this.

The only thing I’m saying is that many things the Drive-By Media gets all excited about in many instances are things that don’t even get a rise out of average people. By average, I mean people not in the politics-is-everything world. My point is, I don’t know how damaging this really is to these Democrat incumbents. The media who care greatly about this, ’cause the media just can’t abide the Republicans winning here, they just can’t abide it, they’re gonna look at this, “Oh, my God, look at the weapon this guy just gave the Republicans.”

I’m not sure it’s that big a deal. It could be. I’m putting myself in the shoes of people that pay scant attention to this kind of thing until a week or two before the election. It may not even be on their radar. And people are gonna vote against Democrats, have already made up their mind to do so anyway. Nothing is gonna change the overall attitude about the country’s state and the future. But we’ll see.
