We Have Not Lost the Pop Culture

RUSH: By the way, folks, we have not lost the pop culture. Many people think that we’ve lost it, but we haven’t. We have not lost it. We still have a toehold in the pop culture. Last night at the CMA Awards in Nashville, here is co-host Brad Paisley. Listen.

PAISLEY: Why isn’t our government doing something about this? I’ll be the first one to say it: President Obama does not care about Postpartum Taylor Swift Disorder.

AUDIENCE: (laughter)


UNDERWOOD: I’m pretty sure that’s why the Democrats lost the Senate. But, I mean —

AUDIENCE: (roaring laughter and applause)

RUSH: That was Carrie Underwood: “I’m pretty sure that’s why the Democrats lost the Senate,” and the place erupted. We have not lost all of the pop culture. You should have seen it. The place erupted, and there were two or three other jokes about Democrats and Obama, and it was overwhelmingly loved and applauded by the audience in Nashville.
