“Did you watch the Saturday Night Live 40th anniversary show? They wanted me on that show one time, and, boy, I must tell you, I almost did it, and had I done it, it would have been one of the biggest career mistakes I’ve ever made. They just wanted me as a punching bag or whatever. My instincts, they’ve never steered me wrong, said, ‘Don’t do this.'”

“I thought I saw myself on TV there, but it was Wolf Blitzer. Never mind. How could I have possibly thought that was me?”

“So I checked the e-mail, and bunch of people, ‘So, Rush, what’s wrong with an Ivy League education? Don’t you know that parents all over this country would love to send their kids there?’ Yeah. I know that. And I’m telling you, your kid would be better off not going there. If you care about education versus liberal indoctrination, because that’s what we’re talking about here.”

“I’m all for education. Education ideally happens every moment of the day for people. Education is something that should never stop. The Limbaugh Institute, there are no graduates and no degrees ’cause the learning never stops here. You know, education’s a pretty big umbrella.”

“This is so classic. Government comes along under the guise of fairness, fixes something, gonna make it fair, gonna make it equal, gonna make it affordable, maybe even make it free. What they end up doing is blowing it all to hell, screwing it up worse than it’s ever been screwed up, then their voters bellyache and complain about it. And the same Democrats come back and demand that something be done, because their voters need a second chance. And I’ll tell you, they can’t blame the Republicans for this because there isn’t a Republican fingerprint on Obamacare.”

“There’s one reason why this is a holiday. It had nothing to do with our country deciding that we wanted to show reverence for our presidents, Lincoln, Washington, or all of them. Nothing to do with that. The ski industry wanted a three-day weekend.”

“Is Brian Williams skiing today? It doesn’t matter. By the end of the day he will have been.”

“Ordinary people, the people that make the country work, it’s all about being able to relate to them. And the inside-the-Beltway elites not only can’t relate, they don’t want to.”

“The Ivy League, even if you go into science it’s gonna be liberalism, because liberalism’s corrupted every aspect of education there is. So even if you go into science in the Ivy League, you are going to be inundated with the global warming, the climate change mumbo jumbo.”

“If the classroom had windows it was torture. ‘Cause I’d look through the windows and I would see everybody driving around, walking, that to me was the essence of freedom, and I was in lock down. So, anyway, it’s not for everybody.”

“College, it’s too expensive to just take those four years off while you figure what you want to do and go through the motions of going to this class or that class, because that’s what it always was to a lot of people.”

“The Democrat Party and the Democrat Party alone gave us Obamacare. There wasn’t a single Republican vote for it.”

“Government comes along under the guise of fairness, fixes something, gonna make it fair, gonna make it equal, gonna make it affordable, maybe even make it free. What they end up doing is blowing it all to hell, screwing it up worse than it’s ever been screwed up, then their voters bellyache and complain about it, and the same Democrats come back and demand that something be done, because their voters need a second chance.”

“They knew exactly what Obamacare was gonna do. They might not know the details, but they new exactly what this was: government taking over health care.”

“Blackmail is blackmail. If you keep paying it, the blackmailer is gonna keep demanding it, and it’s gotten to the point this is nothing more than media, Democrat Party blackmail. It’s either the government shutdown, which is the biggie, or it’s the War on Women.”

“One of the things to observe here is that the Democrats in the Senate refusing to sign this bill, or to vote for it, refusing to vote for the Department of Homeland Security funding bill, I mean, you could say, and you can say it pretty accurately, that the Democrats are willing to put our country at risk in order to preserve the opportunity for Obama to give illegal aliens work permits and Social Security numbers and voter registration cards. That’s what this all adds up to.”
