RUSH: I’m not really sure I know what this Biden thing is. I really don’t know what this is yet. Well, I don’t know if it’s real. With the Democrat Party I don’t know when we’re being scammed. The odds are we’re being scammed most of the time. I don’t know if this Biden thing is for real or if it is to distract people until Hillary gets her act together. I don’t know if it really is true that Obama is trying to take Hillary out for all of the obvious reasons, they don’t get along. What I know is is that Hillary has had now her third coming out, her third introduction.

The Washington Post: “After a Wilting Summer, Clinton Hopes For a Fall Rebound.” She’s already introduced herself three times. She’s already kicked off her campaign three times. We’re coming up on the fourth time now. Now we’ve got the inspectors general who have turned over a couple of e-mails to the CIA, and the CIA has confirmed that she was trafficking in classified, secret information.

Now we got Biden marching with the union boys and Trumka is all excited about it. And another poll showing that Biden’s already pulled ahead of Bernie Sanders in one poll. But even if it’s Biden, it’s stunning to me this is all they’ve got. Hillary? I don’t know. I still don’t see it being anybody else but Hillary, but I would not mind if it weren’t, don’t misunderstand. Just in the long game here, I don’t, ’cause I don’t see an Obama surfacing in this campaign, like happened last time. Anyway, time will tell.

Grab sound bite number eight. To show where the real action was in the presidential campaign, we go to TMZ. Last night, the TMZ network. Harvey Levin (who is the host, the executive producer, the owner and the leading debt holder of the network) and cohosts Charles Latibeaudiere and Evan Rosenblum, and an unidentified producer had this little exchange about Tom Brady. You know why? There was a picture taken of Tom Brady’s locker at Gillette Stadium. You know what was in that locker? A “Make America Great Again!” cap. A red “Make America Great Again!” cap. It was a Trump “Make America Great Again!” cap, and it was in Tom Brady’s locker at Gillette Stadium, and that was the real news last night and today.

LATIBEAUDIERE: You would think this means that he’s a supporter, right?

ROSENBLUM: This is gonna help put Donald Trump over the top.

PRODUCER: Oh my God.

ROSENBLUM: Because if Tom Brady is signing off on Trump, he can win Massachusetts.

LEVIN: He can win all of New England. New Hampshire —

PRODUCER: You guys are underestimating how polarizing —

LATIBEAUDIERE: — when the New Hampshire primary comes around.

PRODUCER: — the Patriots are!

LEVIN: You said the exact same thing about Donald Trump —

PRODUCER: What?

LEVIN: — that he was polarizing, and look what’s happened in the polls.

ROSENBLUM: By the way, Donald Trump has invested a lot of years into Tom Brady. They’ve been friends for a long time, and even when Tom was at his lowest and it was popular for people to dump on Tom Brady and say, “You’re a cheater,” Trump held strong; said, “He’s innocent. I believe in him,” and look how that paid off —

LEVIN: (laughing)

ROSENBLUM: — with the endorsement from Tom Brady. It’s huge.

RUSH: Brady does a weekly contractual appearance on a radio station in Boston, once a week. Usually it’s Monday or Tuesday following Sunday’s games. He was asked about this today.

BRADY: I’ve known him since 2002. I judged one of his beauty pageants, so I’ve known him for a long time. He always gives me a call and different types of motivational speeches at different times. Now that he’s running for president, he sent me a hat. Am I gonna vote for him? That’s a good question. He’s a good friend and we’ve had a lot of time on the golf course together over the years. I mean, it’s pretty amazing what he’s been able to accomplish as an entrepreneur and then really as a television star and now running for political office. He’s obviously appealing to a lot of people.

RUSH: So the TMZ gang thinks that if he’s wearing a Trump camp, if he’s got it in his locker, that means if Brady endorses Trump and that Trump’s gonna win Massachusetts and maybe all of New England. Now, last Thursday at Trump Tower, Trump had a press conference and was asked about Brady. We were JIPping it so we heard it, but here it is repeated.

TRUMP: Tom Brady is a very good friend of mine. He’s a great guy, for those of you that don’t know him. He’s a very honorable guy and an honest guy and a truly great athlete. He is really a very good friend of mine, and I just spoke to him a little while ago. He’s so thrilled and so happy. Tom Brady, I think what they’ve done is terrible, and he’s been exonerated, as I understand it, ’cause I just heard about it. But I’m very happy for Tom.

RUSH: Look, I don’t want to prick the balloon here, but he wasn’t exonerated. I mean, I realize not gonna make any friends here, but the judge who ruled in the case simply said that the commissioner did not have this all-encompassing power to suspend Brady, given that there was so little evidence implicating him in the league’s own report, the Wells report. When that thing first came out remember I found a paragraph at the end of it on page whatever it was and I quoted it to you.

The Wells report itself said that there’s nothing in here that conclusively proves Brady knew. I said, “Well, that’s the rest of this matter, then? If they couldn’t conclude that Brady was directly involved in the deflation of the footballs, then what’s the rest of this report have to do?” The judge focused in on that and said the commissioner did not have the authority, but did not exonerate Brady. He did not say Brady was innocent, ’cause that wasn’t what was being reviewed in court. I don’t mean to be a nitpicker here, but that’s the fact.
