Eye-Opening Loretta Lynch Testimony

by Rush Limbaugh - Nov 17,2015

RUSH: Okay, this next bite is eye-opening. It’s Loretta Lynch, the attorney general, testifying before the House Judiciary Committee on Department of Justice oversight. So it’s oversight hearings. Randy Forbes, Republican, Virginia, says, “Look, Madam Attorney General, making it clear: Any list that targets a city or state of the US, if you bring terrorists from Guantanamo Bay, wouldn’t it be reasonable to conclude that that can enhance that city’s ability to be one of those targeted lists?” This is about closing Club Gitmo.

This is about relocating Gitmo prisoners in American cities. And the congressman’s asking her: “Well, look, any list that targets a city or state in the US, if you put a Gitmo terrorist there, would it be reasonable to conclude that that could enhance the city’s ability to be one of the targets.” We’re talking about terrorist prisoners. We’re gonna release them. We’re gonna send them to, say, to City A. He’s asking, “Doesn’t that make that city an even bigger target since we’re actually putting a terrorist prisoner in it?”

LYNCH: I think there are any number of factors —

FORBES: Would you not agree that that would be a factor that would enhance that ability?

LYNCH: I think there are any number of factors —

FORBES: Would that be a factor?

LYNCH: There are any number of factors —

FORBES: But you would disagree that that would be one of those many number of factors?

LYNCH: Congressman, I don’t agree or disagree.

RUSH: “I’m not gonna tell you anything, Congressman. You can babble up here all you want. I’m gonna tell you there are a lot of factors!” So Forbes then said, “So you, as the attorney general, do not have an opinion on whether or not bringing terrorists from [Club Gitmo] and locating them in a city or state would have any capability at all of putting that city on a hit list, say, for ISIS? You don’t have an opinion on that?”

LYNCH: Congressman, I think there are any number of factors —

FORBES: I’m asking you would that be one of those factors.

LYNCH: I believe I’ve indicated there’d be any number of —

FORBES: No, you indicated you wouldn’t answer the question, and Madam Attorney General, I think that’s atrocious that you don’t even have an opinion of that.

RUSH: Oh, she’s got an opinion on it, Congressman. She’s just not gonna tell you. What she’s telling you, Congressman, is, “It doesn’t matter. We’re doing this politically. We’re getting this place shut down because Obama promised his voters. We’ve got an election coming up. The Democrat Party base expects that place to be closed. We’re closing it!” Well, what about the impact on terrorism in the locations you’re gonna put these prisoners?

“Oh, there’s any number of factors.” She’s got a pat answer. “I think there are any number of factors.” This is… I don’t know. This borders on insolent, disrespect? I mean, this, “There are any number of factors…” But here again, just to reemphasize, this is the Obama administration telling Congress, “Screw you guys! We’re gonna shut this place down and we’re gonna put ’em somewhere in the United States, and the hell with it. We’ve gotta shut it down because our base demands it be closed, and we haven’t done it yet. We gotta do it by the next election.”

She’s not gonna say that. So then Bob Goodlatte, Republican, Virginia, said, “Do you agree with the FBI director when he says that vetting Syrian refugees is extremely difficult, if not impossible?”

LYNCH: Certainly the… Not only the Department of Justice, but all of our agencies will make everything effort to vet every refugee coming into this country, from the databases, to the interviews that those individuals are subject to, to the biometric screening as well.

GOODLATTE: Let me go on.

LYNCH: Certainly there are challenges to that process because of the situation in Syria.

RUSH: Biometrics? Would biometric screening have identified the Tsarnaevs? What about this little kid and his clock bomb? Well, that’s the point. Biometrics? We’ll know their body fat, though. We’ll know whether climate change has harmed them where they live. They’re not in any database anywhere. There’s no way to vet them. You can’t vet people for whom there aren’t any records.
