Axelrod and Obama Have Decided to Use Limbaugh Again

by Rush Limbaugh - Nov 10,2016

RUSH: David Axelrod.  And get audio sound bite number 25 standing by.  I was at home last night, as I usually am, minding my own business, and I get a note: “David Axelrod’s talking about you on TV.”

“Yeah?” I had to write back, “Saying what, what did he say?” “He’s reminding everybody how you said you hoped Obama failed.”  I said, “I knew it.” You know what I think, folks? (hysterical laughing) “You want to hear what I think? I think Obama and Hillary’s calls for magnanimity are phony.  I don’t think they mean it.  I don’t think they believe it at all.  They’re ticked.  Don’t you understand how mad they are?  Holy cow! Obama just everything he stands for, just jammed right back down his little throat! Ha! Ha!

“You think he’s happy and smiling about it? He’s mad as — and Hillary? She was gonna be the queen! Ho! Ho!  I just love seeing it in my mind.  She was gonna be Queen Hillary! It was gonna be a coronation, and look what happened. She has to swallow the rope line with — with — with –with Huma as they leave the hall? Oh!  And now they then go out and they talk about how we need to work together? ‘Donald Trump, he’s a great American, and we need to come together and we need to work together to put America back together,'” blah, blah, blah.

I was suspicious of that when I heard it, and then when I heard that Axelrod’s on TV reminding everything that I said, “I hope he fails.”

I do not doubt for a minute — I really don’t — that they had a strategy session and they said, “Look, we’re gonna use Limbaugh again. We’re gonna contrast ourselves to Limbaugh.  Limbaugh’s out there, he said he hoped Obama fails, and we’re gonna go out there and we’re gonna be so much better than Limbaugh. We’re gonna look like we care about unity and we’re gonna win this thing back.”

So they went out and did it. (interruption) You don’t think so?  All right.  Well, here’s a little bit of Obama this afternoon at the White House after he had his meeting with Trump, or I guess the end of the meeting with Trump.  And I think when I said I hope he fails — by the way, they all know what I meant.  And even Axelrod was told last night: No, no, Limbaugh didn’t want the country to fail.  He wanted the agenda to fail.  Limbaugh didn’t want socialism to win.  That’s what he meant.  They knew that.  Everybody knows what I meant.  They just take the occasion of what I said to misrepresent it, lie about it, so forth, but here’s Obama.  You tell me that that is still not on his mind.

OBAMA:  I believe that it is important for all of us, regardless of party and regardless of political preferences, to now come together, work together —

RUSH:  Stop the tape.  (laughing)  You think he believes that, folks?  If you do I’ve got a lake in Michigan I’m gonna buy today and sell you tomorrow.  Do you really (laughing) believe it’s important for us regardless of party and political preferences to come together?  This is the guy that told Trump he’s the KKK.  This is the guy saying Trump doesn’t have the temperament to be president.  This is the guy who’s out there lying through his teeth.  Do you really think now that they’ve lost that they want to come together? (laughing) Start it from the top again if I can handle it again.

OBAMA:  I believe that it is important for all of us, regardless of party and regardless of political preferences to now come together, work together, to deal with the many challenges that we face.  And, in the meantime, Michelle has had a chance to greet the incoming first lady and we had an excellent conversation with her as well. And we want to make sure that they feel welcome as they prepare to make this transition.  And most of all, I want to emphasize to you —

RUSH:  Listen.

OBAMA:  — Mr. President-elect —

RUSH:  Listen.

OBAMA:  — that we now are gonna want to do everything we can to help you succeed, because if you succeed, then the country succeeds.

RUSH:  It’s still on his mind.  “If you succeed, then the country succeeds.”  That is a direct repudiation of, “I hope he fails.”  And here he is, he’s talking to Trump, and he’s saying (imitating Obama), “Now, I want to emphasize you, Mr. President-elect, that we’re gonna wanna do everything we can to help you succeed.”  No, they’re not.  (laughing)  Come on.  They’re already plotting ways to get Trump’s plane with flat tires and anything else they can do to interrupt where Trump’s going.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Here’s Axelrod, and it was Jeff Lord on CNN last night.  This is during Anderson Cooper 99.

AXELROD:  One of the things that I remember from 2009 that kind of stunned me was two things.  One was Rush Limbaugh saying when Obama took office, I am rooting for him to fail.  I want him to fail.  And the second, frankly, were people like Donald Trump, who challenged the president’s right to be there, challenged his citizenship.  I don’t raise that to be provocative; I raise it because many people — I believe what you believe, which is we have one president at a time, we all have to hope for success.  It’s the success of the country.  But there are a lot of people who say, well, gee, they didn’t give Barack Obama that chance.

RUSH:  Right.  They know what I meant.  Axelrod knows full well. Obama knows, they all know what I meant.  I wanted him to fail implementing his agenda.  So should we all have wanted that, especially looking back in hindsight.  I should be credited and lauded for guts and courage today instead of being reamed over the coals for it, because I was right.  President Obama succeeding as a president, in my view, would have been the same thing as great damage being done to the country, and it has been.  Anyway, here’s Jeff Lord.  It’s a futile effort because they know they’re misrepresenting what I said.  They know exactly what I meant.  But Jeff Lord tried to straighten it out.

LORD:  I want to answer for Rush here.  When he said that, what he was saying was that he believed Senator Obama, President-elect Obama was going to move the country towards the socialist left, and he hoped he failed in that attempt.  He’s frequently said since that he didn’t fail in the attempt.  He didn’t want him to fail in the sense that I think this is being used.  He was totally misunderstood —

AXELROD:  So he meant it in a nice way.

LORD:  No.  No.  What he meant is, as a conservative, he didn’t want the country, the president to take the country to the far left.

RUSH:  They know.  They’re using it.  And that’s why — folks, you may think I’m off my rocker, but I’m not.  They coordinate everything.  And Hillary and Obama being magnanimous and then Axelrod going out there on CNN last night, it’s a way for them to try to set themselves as a step above, better people, finer, nicer people and all that, when they don’t mean it.  You watch.

By the way, I’m starting to see other people steal this from me.  I’m seeing other people now on Fox talk about this.  I heard it twice today.  Obama’s gonna stay in Washington and he’s gonna stay in Washington because if the next president tries to unravel his agenda, Obama’s gonna go to the media and try to stop it.  I’ve only been pointing it out for two years, but the point is that is gonna happen, and then let’s hear about unity then.  Obama doesn’t mean any of this and neither did Hillary.

She is livid that she lost.  You do not know how livid.  It was an entitlement to her.  And stop and think.  You know, the Drive-By Media, for all the unfairness that we think that they dish out to us, imagine yourself, a true blue Democrat believing Nate Silver, believing all these people, believing the media, all the pollsters, can you imagine how betrayed you feel today?  They had Democrat voters thinking this was gonna be one of the biggest landslide wins ever.

They had people thinking this was a slam dunk, really didn’t even need to go through the election except as a formality.  You talk about being misled and angry as a result, you can’t convince me they are not still fit to be tied.  And this magnanimity is the public face that decorum says you wear.  But it is a mask.  And do not doubt me.
