RUSH: From TheHill.com. Here’s the headline: “Is a Wave Election Forming for Democrats? — Democrats are increasingly bullish about the prospect of a wave election in 2018 amid backlash against the” House Republicans for repealing Obamacare. And, of course, all the mess with Trump. Now, it’s true to say, is it not, that practically every election the Democrats think that they’re gonna win it in a landslide?

They were gonna win 2016 in a landslide. Hillary was gonna mop the floor with Trump. They go in… But now they really believe, folks — because they believe their media, and they believe everybody in America believes their media. And they believe, therefore, that everybody, now, hates Trump, that everybody is dissatisfied with the election results in 2016.

They believe that every American realizes they’ve made a mistake. They think that every American realizes Trump was a disaster, the Republicans are a disaster. They believe that practically every voting American now wishes they had voted Hillary and voted Democrat. And they are telling themselves it’s gonna lead to them regaining the House, regaining the Senate in 2018.

Okay. Well, you would think that they’re raising money left and right, wouldn’t you? You would think this big momentum for Democrats to be back in power, why, people must be donating to the Democrats left and right.

Well, the Democrat National Committee reported its worst April of fundraising since 2009. On Monday, yesterday, according to the Federal Election Commission, the DNC reported taking in $4.7 million last month. Now, this is admittedly an off year for fundraising. But last year the DNC raised $8.5 million and nearly five million in 2015. Between 2010 and 2014, they received anywhere from $6.3 to 14.4 million per year.

The Republican National Committee’s April numbers more than doubled the DNC numbers. The RNC reported raising $9.6 million in April. They have $41 million on cash. The Democrats have $8.8 million on hand in cash and raised 4.7. So the Democrats have all this momentum. They have all this spirit. They have all this unity. They have all this purpose. They have all this resolve. Everybody hates Trump. Everybody hates the Republicans. The Republicans have a crazy guy for president. But when you look at the mother’s milk of politics, and that’s money, the Democrats don’t have any, compared to the Republicans.

So where is this wave? How is this wave gonna happen? Where is all this momentum? Where is all this unity? Where is all this spirit? From The Daily Caller today: “Bernie Supporters: The Democratic Party Is In ‘Absolute Crisis’ — Influential organizers who supported Sen. Bernie Sanders during the 2016 presidential primary still think that the Democratic Party is in an ‘absolute crisis,’ according to an interview published Sunday. ‘They are a party in absolute crisis and denial,’ leader of the California Nurse’s Association RoseAnn DeMoro told the Bee about Democratic leadership. ‘They are too comfortable.’

‘”Democrats moved to the right for so long that they were basically centrists,’ Democratic delegate Mike Van Gorder said. ‘It absolutely needs to change.'” These Democrats think the DNC has gone too far to the right. Anyway, there isn’t any evidence of a wave other than what these Democrats are telling themselves.

Trump’s approval number is actually climbing again. It’s up to 46%. The Democrats are not raising any money, and yet they’re convinced that they’re gonna sweep the floor in 2018. On the other side of this, however, is this. Just cleared about an hour and 10 minutes ago. It’s a story from TheHill.com, and it is a poll from SurveyUSA. It’s about the special election in the Georgia House race. The Pajama Boy, Jon Ossoff versus the Republican, Karen Handel. This is Georgia 6. It was Newt’s district. And in this latest poll from SurveyUSA, Ossoff is up seven points over Republican Karen Handel.

This is about the same lead that Hillary had over Trump throughout the entire campaign. Now, this poll is one of the only things the Democrats have that might tell them they’re gonna be in a wave election. There have been two previous special elections this year, and they all said each of these elections is gonna show that the public has turned on Trump and want us back, and the Republicans won both. The Democrats lost.

The Democrats are already counting Ossoff as a winner. This election will be on June the 20th. Fifty-one percent of likely and actual voters in Georgia say they would vote for Ossoff if the election were today. Forty-four percent say they’d vote for Handel. Six percent are undecided. YouGov, SurveyUSA, you name it, these polling groups all had Hillary up by the same margin, six or seven points. I don’t know if this is accurate or not. But the Democrats are looking at this and they’re salivating.

Now, I will say this, folks. I try to be a beacon of optimism here. But if this Pajama Boy guy, who doesn’t even live in the district, if he actually wins this in the district that sent Tom Price and Newt Gingrich, then the Republicans are in trouble. And, by the way, if this happens, I’m gonna tell you, if the Republicans start losing these elections, it’s not gonna be because of the Democrats.

You know why it’s gonna happen. It’s gonna happen because Trump voters are fed up with Trump getting no support from his own party in Washington. Make book on it. If this Georgia district election actually goes that way, it’s not gonna be ’cause people prefer this Pajama Boy guy. It’s gonna be other reasons completely.
