Rush 24/7 Morning Update: I Don’t Buy It

by Rush Limbaugh - Jan 15,2018

RUSH: Over the weekend, the entire nation was buzzing about the 38 minutes when terrified Hawaii residents believed they were about to be nuked.

Shortly after 8  Saturday morning, Hawaiians woke to an emergency alert telling them to “seek immediate shelter” because of an “inbound ballistic missile threat,” with the added emphasis: “This is not a drill.”

As we now know, it was a false alarm. The threat was not real but the panic was very, very real. The missile warning was broadcast over TV and radio stations by the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency. Petrified people abandoned their cars, rushed to shelters, even hid in storm drains.

For 38 excruciating minutes, nobody knew what was happening or if Hawaii would be blown off the map! When it eventually became clear the alert was a mistake, outrage set in.

But all the outraged citizens of Hawaii should be satisfied to learn that there is accountability. The Civil Defense employee who accidentally pressed the wrong buttons reportedly “feels really bad.” Emergency management officials say he didn’t do it on purpose. He feels terrible about it. And just as important, he is going to be “retrained.” That’s right. He’ll be “counseled and drilled” so this never happens again.

Do you believe this, folks? I’m sorry, I don’t. I don’t believe 38 minutes went by without any truth getting out; I don’t believe this guy only had to hit one button. I’m not buying any of this.
