RUSH: Mike in Jacksonville, great to have you, sir. How are you doing?

CALLER: Hello, Rush, how are you doing? It’s a pleasure talking to you again.

RUSH: Thank you, sir.

CALLER: What these Democrats and leftists hockey pucks don’t understand is they will never separate the glue that holds Donald Trump to his supporters, okay? We voted him in because he promised to make America great again. We also voted him if in because he is an atypical politician who just wouldn’t break the law, whatever. Whatever the law says, Donald Trump’s going to do, okay? And, if you don’t like it, all right, just like I said he’s gonna maybe pass some kind of something, alleviate this situation? He’s gonna send it back to Congress and let Congress vote it over, right? But Donald Trump will not break the law, okay? Whatever the law says, that’s what the law says, right? It’s like jaywalking. I can jaywalk 364 days a year, but on the 365th day, if the cop stops me and gives me a ticket for jaywalking, I can’t say nothing back.

RUSH: Wait, wait, wait. Let me jump in here with a question because none of that… What we’re learning here is that facts and reality and truth don’t matter, so let me just give you a scenario. Let’s say that starting this afternoon the media reports that Donald Trump has just caved and violated his No. 1 campaign promise. He has signed an executive order allowing illegal alien children and their parents to stay in America for as long as they want. What’s gonna be your reaction to that if that’s what they report?

CALLER: I still won’t cave. I still hope… It’s like a chain. The weakest link in a chain… The weakest link is the one that’s gonna break. Well, Donald Trump, he is the weakest link. And as long as he doesn’t break, we will not break, okay? As far as if that will happen? I don’t think so. Donald Trump is not a Barack Obama.

RUSH: Well, look. I happen to be agree with you. I happen to think that the media is not gonna be able to force a break between Trump supporters and Trump. But Trump can! The media can’t but Trump can! I’ve said this from the first days of the campaign. The media did not make Donald Trump. In other words, people don’t love Donald Trump because of what the media said about him. (chuckles) Quite the opposite, in fact.

As such, the media, as they are learning, cannot destroy him. The bond he has with his base voters is real and it is solid, and it’s based on a whole bunch of substantive things. Therefore, they can’t break it; they didn’t create it. They have nothing to do with it! They tried to make sure that people didn’t support Trump from the beginning. The only person that could blow up this relationship is Trump himself.

So that’s what the media is attempting to do, you guys. The media is attempting to force Trump to do things to make you start doubting, to make you start questioning. And when it comes to his No. 1 issue, the thing that got him elected, they all know what it is. It’s this: Illegal immigration. That’s what’s going on here. It remains the focus of all of these deranged leftists to get Trump.
