RUSH: I mentioned this on Tuesday and it bears repeating. Gallup did a poll of 1,500 adults. Get this: Less than a third of Democrats say they’re “extremely proud” to be Americans — less than a third — and 74% of Republicans say they are extremely proud to be Americans. Compared to only 32% of Democrats.

And, sadly, this won’t come as a surprise. Only 33% of non-whites say they’re extremely proud, compared with 54% of white Americans.

Now, there are plenty of reasons for the dismal showing among Democrats, none of them good. The main reason is the way liberals view the country.

We see a great, free nation full of promise, opportunity, and goodness. They see the exact opposite. They see abject misery, oppression — an endless parade of victims.

Unfortunately, liberals spread their negative view of America everywhere. It’s the hallmark of education, Hollywood, the news media, and even in government.

You know, it wasn’t too long ago that we had a Democrat first lady who said the first time she was truly proud of her country was when her husband was elected. For most Democrats, even that wasn’t enough! That was Obama; they can’t do any better than that.
