RUSH: New York Magazine. Look at this. “Obama Had a Secret Plan in Case Trump Rejected the 2016 Election Results.” Is this not hilarious, looking back? Let’s retrace steps. It was the last debate between the Trumpster and the Hildebeast. And Chris Wallace was the moderator. And Wallace asked Trump if he, right then, would swear, pledge, to accept the election results. And Trump said (summarized), “No. I’m not gonna sit here and tell you right now that I will accept the results of the election.
“I’m not gonna do that until the election comes and we’ve counted the votes.” They wanted… I think the objective was to be able to create a sound bite, “Trump acknowledges he thinks he will lose election!” That’s what they were hoping before. “Mr. Trump, will you acknowledge that you’ll accept the results of the election?” “Of course! I’m a great American. Yes.” Bango. Since at that time, everybody thought that Hillary was gonna win in a landslide, then the sound bite would be and the headline be:
“Trump Acknowledges Likely Defeat in Upcoming Election!”
But Trump crossed ’em up. He said (paraphrased), “No. I don’t know what kind of shenanigans these people are gonna play. I’m not gonna concede anything tonight.” Hillary Clinton gets in gear. (impression) “This is the biggest threat to our democracy that we have ever had! I can’t believe he’s saying this. This is unreal.” So then Obama (we didn’t know until recently) devised a secret plan in case Trump rejected the election results, and guess what the plan was? The plan was, if Trump wins, to steal the election away from him!
“In October 2016, senior staff in the Obama White House discussed what they should do if Hillary Clinton won the November election and Donald Trump refused to accept the result as legitimate. They had cause to be worried. At that time, Trump had openly speculated that the election might be ‘rigged.’ During his final debate with Clinton on October 19, he said that his opponent ‘should never have been allowed to run’ and declined to answer the question of whether he would concede.
“‘I’ll keep you in suspense,’ the Republican nominee said. ‘It wasn’t a hypothetical,’ Ben Rhodes, Obama’s senior aide and speechwriter, told Intelligencer,” the New York Magazine column. “‘Trump was already saying it on the campaign trail.'” Ben Rhodes seems to have a problem with English. Trump was asked a hypothetical question: “What will you do if Hillary wins?” To which he gave an answer based on a hypothetical premise!
“The Obama White House plan, according to interviews with Rhodes and Jen Psaki, Obama’s communications director, called for congressional Republicans, former presidents, and former Cabinet-level officials including Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice, to try and forestall a political crisis by validating the election results.” So, is this not funny looking back? They’re hell-bent in making sure that Trump conceeds, despite being dead certain Hillary was gonna win!
And if Trump refused to concede, they were gonna call Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice and a bunch of ex-presidents, and they were going to get them to validate the election result, in addition to the official count state by state, in addition to the U.S. Congress certifying the election. That apparently wasn’t gonna be enough. They had to go get Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice. “In the event that Trump tried to dispute a Clinton victory, they would affirm the result as well as the conclusions reached by the U.S. intelligence community that Russian interference in the election sought to favor Trump…”
So we are now learning… We’re not learning anything. We are having our suspicions confirmed. They hatched this Russia plot way before the election even took place, and no matter what happened, no matter what the outcome was, they’re gonna use it! If Trump lost, they were still gonna use it to say that, even though trump lost, he tried to steal this election from Hillary! And it was… That was gonna validate her election even more.
That was gonna make her an even bigger star, an even bigger hero. She overcame not just Trump, she overcame Putin, she overcame the oligarchs, she overcame Russia. That’s what their plan was, and then it got turned upside down. Hillary lost and she refused to concede! Remember, she refused to go away! They refused to acknowledge that Trump had won! It immediately became, “Trump didn’t win; the Russians stole it! And to this day, there’s no evidence for it.
But there’s Obama. This story in New York Magazine, they think they’re doing an attaboy here. They think they’re really praising Obama. They’re admitting that there was a conspiracy behind the scenes dealing with this election and trying to handle whatever outcome ended up happening to the benefit of Hillary Clinton. Somebody send this story over to Robert Mueller. He may not find out about this. Ha!
