RUSH: Can I ask you a quick question? Seriously. How many Republicans right now…? In the midst of this political campaign and the 2016 midterms, how many Republicans have the Clintons or Obama on their radar? No, no. (interruption) I mean, how many…? Are the Clintons an obstacle to the upcoming midterms, the Clintons? No. Is Obama an obstacle in the…? No. I mean, the Clintons and Obama are not even on the radar, except they are today.

I mean, the Clintons announced… Get this: The Clintons announced this nationwide stadium tour, 13 locations. Stadium tour! They’re gonna charge admission for people to come in and spend some time listening to Bill and Hillary reminisce and talk about politics. What…? What if there isn’t a whole lot of interest in that? What if a lot of people aren’t yet buying tickets? I don’t know that they’re on sale at every venue yet, but the Clintons aren’t on anybody’s radar right now.

I mean, the closest that happens is, you know, when Trump goes to a rally and they start talking about the deep state and Hillary and her buds in the FBI trying to shaft Trump on this phony collusion story, the “Lock her up! Lock her up!” But, I mean, the Clintons are not considered political opponents right up, and Obama certainly isn’t. I don’t know.

And now with some of these leftists tweeting, “This is typical! Donald Trump has engendered so much hate and so much anger that life in America is not safe.” It’s just too pat. It’s just… It’s too obvious. It is becoming what informed and educated suspicion about this would tell you that it is. We’ll see. We’ll let time unfold here. In the meantime, we go back to the phones. Andrew in Cleveland, it’s great to have you with us. Hello.

CALLER: Hey, Rush. I’ve been listening to you since I was a kid riding around in the car with my father. It’s a pleasure speaking to you.

RUSH: Well, thank you! I appreciate that. Thank you very much.

CALLER: Rush, you know, you talk about this passing the smell test. I’m sure the Drive-By spin on this will be that we have a dangerous, deranged right-winger out there putting these bombs in the mail. You know, if that really were the case, where’s does a redneck, right-wing hill bully – which, I’m sure, that’s the way it will be spun by the media. Where did they get the mailing addresses of a Bill and Hillary, George Soros, and Barack Hussein O? That information is just not out there for the masses to obtain. Point being, there was never any intent for these devices to make their way to the intended targets.

Whoever put them in the mail… I don’t know if it’s right for me to point fingers in certainty, but my gut is telling me this is a left wing smoke screen wanting for them to be discovered. The Democrats, they’ve proven time and time again there are simply no lows that they won’t stoop to. Everything they’ve tried to do to derail Trump, the hot mic video that came out during his presidential campaign to Russia, to… They’ve even gone so far as to try to ruin the life of Judge Kavanaugh. Nothing has worked.

RUSH: Well –

CALLER: What makes you think that they wouldn’t stoop to something this low? It just doesn’t pass the smell test.

RUSH: Along those lines, if you want to look at it that way, it doesn’t make any sense for a Republican or conservative to do this. If they really care about winning these elections, this makes no sense to do. This is gonna be instant fodder for the Democrats and the media to blame it on Trump and his supporters and/or his… It doesn’t make any sense for you a Republican or conservative to do this, if they care about the elections. None whatsoever. But flip that! Flip that around.

Would it make a lot of sense for a Democrat operative or Democrat-inculcated lunatic to do it? Because things are not working out the way they thought. Do not forget this. It’s why I’ve spent so much time dwelling on this today and the psychology that’s attached to this. This is not going the way they have assured us for the last nine months it was gonna go. More importantly, it’s not going the way they believed it was gonna go. They believe their lies, remember.

They believe their pollsters. If the pollsters tell ’em there’s a big blue wave based on a generic ballot, they believe it. They get it in their heads, and they believe it, and they start reporting it, and it just compounds itself. And it becomes even more intensely believed. It becomes gospel — and then it doesn’t. And then the things that are supposed to cement it, like the Kavanaugh trick backfires, and these mobs are backfiring. They are not achieving their objectives.

So if you flip this around, you’ve got this mob of people flooding the border by intention. There’s no way that helps the Democrats, and the Democrats, as I said… Let me grab the tweet here. It’s really strange, ladies and gentlemen. I’m gonna quote the creepy, porn star lawyer. But here’s Michael Avenatti: “There is too much at stake in the midterms for the Dems to allow the Repubs to use the caravan, which is so obviously a set-up, as a wedge issue. It is time for the Dems to step up and be strong on border security.

“We cannot once again be painted as weak and then lose.” There’s a translation for this, in addition to what he’s saying here: You Democrats have got to stop opposing Trump just to oppose Trump. So here’s a caravan. Here’s a mob of people that are illegal immigrants that have all kinds of bad actors in them, and now we know this to be true, and now we know from a couple of sources that Venezuela sponsored and paid for this.

If that’s true, then Venezuela also means Iran and the ChiComs, folks. A lot of people on our side have jumped to say George Soros. Eh, maybe. But Mike Pence says it’s Venezuela, some other people are saying it’s Venezuela. If it’s Venezuela, it’s also Iran and the ChiComs. Regardless, we have this mob of people storming the American border. There’s no reasonable American that wants to just open the floodgates and let those people in for whatever else is gonna follow behind.

This is not where the American people are right now. The only common-sensical thing to do is to oppose this. But because Trump opposes it, the Democrats instinctively have to say they’re in favor of it. They are that demented. Whatever Trump is for, they’re gonna be against. Whatever Trump is against, they’re for. Avenatti is saying (summarized), “Come on, you guys. Step up and be strong on border security. This doesn’t help us! A mob of 7,000, 10,000 people storming the gates, demanding to be let in? That doesn’t help us.”

What Avenatti is saying is, “All this is doing is illustrate what we support on a day-to-day trickle kind of basis, and the American people are opposed to it.” My point is none of this is panning out the way it was planned. No blue wave. Look, don’t misunderstand. I don’t know what’s gonna happen. I’m not saying that the Democrats may not win the House, but I don’t think they’re going to. I’m sticking with the prediction I made on Hannity’s show last Thursday night.

I do not see it, ’cause I never fall for left-wing media conventional wisdom or the standard, ordinary groupthink narrative of the moment, whatever it is. But it’s more than that. There’s nothing happening in America right now that argues electing Democrats! Not en masse. Maybe an individual race here, district based on local things. But en masse? There’s no reason to vote Democrat. They’re not even giving people reasons to vote for them. All they’re trying to do is get people to say no to Republicans, say no to Trump, because Trump’s what?

He’s a boor. He tweets. He’s a bad guy. Whatever he is. The stunts Democrats are pulling, destroying Kavanaugh and his family, sending ricin (what looked like ricin) to Susan Collins, all these mobs? There’s nothing the Democrats are doing that’s the kind of thing you do to build a movement, in a decent society — and I still believe that we have one. I believe our decent society is under siege every day. Our decent, standard, good old normalcy is under assault every day, led by pop culture leftists in Hollywood, in Silicon Valley, in the Drive-By Media.

We’re under assault every day. But they have not overturned it yet. They have not gotten to the point where indecency and abnormality have replaced normal. There’s just nothing out there, to me, that would have people excited about voting for Democrats, because even the Democrats are not pushing that. They’re trying to get people to vote against Trump, against Republicans. I just… I don’t see it.

We’ll find out if my instincts are off the charts or not in less than a couple of weeks. But my point is the Democrats don’t see it happening, and that’s what really matters. They’re the ones panicking. So you flip this scenario: What sense does it make for a conservative Republican to gum up the works here by sending a bunch of bombs that are not gonna go off and that are gonna be discovered? It doesn’t make any sense in any way, shape, manner, or form.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Look, here we go. Here we have a freelance journalist. I’ve not heard of her but I’m gonna make her famous. Her name is Alessandra Bocchi, and she writes for il Giornale, First Things and more. So she’s a freelancer out there, and she tweeted the following: “As a journalist, my job is to be skeptical.” No, it’s not, Alessandra. As a journalist your job is to be a left-wing partisan hack. I’m glad you’re resisting that. Alessandra Bocchi: “As a journalist, my job is to be skeptical. Terrorist attacks are committed during times of desperation, not victory.

“People who’ve won against Obama/Clintons/Soros have no reason to attack them now, when they’ve all but become irrelevant.” Exactly my point! I asked it just a moment ago: Who on our side’s worried about the Clintons? We’re laughing at ’em. A nationwide stadium tour with Bill and Hillary? (chuckling) Are they gonna have the bimbo eruption section where those babes get comped? And Obama? Folks, Obama? I’m telling you, he can’t draw crowds. He’s out there trying to claim credit for this economy when he wouldn’t know how to create it!

In fact, the Democrats are the people that have people on their side that love bombs! Bill Ayers! One of Obama’s buddies, in fact. I’m not saying that there’s any connection. Do not misunderstand me. But Alessandra Bocchi is right on the money here. Here’s Mark in Orlando. I guess it’s Orlando in Florida. Great to have here with us, Mark. Hi.

CALLER: Mega dittos, Rush. It’s truly an honor to speak with you. So while I was holding for you, couple things popped in my head –and I’ll get to the point in two seconds. These are all deep state leaders that these, quote-unquote, “bombs” are going to, Hillary and Cuomo and all these guys, and then Brennan. It’s all deep state. And this is right out of the Clintons’ playbook. If you go back in time to I believe it was 2008 when Hillary was going against Hussein Obama, the iron-my-shirt folks started coming out. I don’t know if you recall that or not. I’m sure you do with your memory.

RUSH: Oh, yeah. I think I’m responsible for that because of a joke I used to tell about Hillary.

CALLER: (chuckles) Yeah, and so Michelle Malkin, you know, put that to bed as far as it was a plant.

RUSH: Well, tell people what it was, ’cause I stepped on it. Tell people what it was.

CALLER: Oh, sure, sure. So back in 2008 — in order to garner sympathy and empathy for the Hildebeast — there was a gentleman or series of gentlemen that were walking around the Hillary for President campaign in 2008 with signs saying, “Iron my shirt! Iron my shirt!” of course because, you know, can’t have a woman for president those, you know, those sexists Republicans.

RUSH: Right. “Do what you were born to do, Hillary, and be a domestic! Be a housewife and iron my shirt, then fix dinner and get my slippers.” That kind of thing. Right?

CALLER: It was a plant. It was all nonsense to garner empathy and sympathy.

RUSH: Right! It was Hillary’s plant.

CALLER: “Never let a crisis go to waste.”

RUSH: It was Hillary’s plant! There was nobody legitimately anti-Hillary doing that, right?

CALLER: Correct. Yeah.

RUSH: I’m telling you, I gave ’em the idea. But, anyway, I don’t want to step on it. Keep going with the story.

CALLER: So, anyway, Michelle Malkin came out with a good piece and basically put it to bed from a follow-up that this was a plant and it was all a fascade like everything is with Clintons. A great professor called the Maha Rushie taught me one time with the Clintons there are no coincidences, and there’s nothing that’s set in stone with these people. Everything is manufactured, everything is made up. So I don’t trust them.

You look at Nancy Pelosi down in Miami. For someone who was, quote-unquote, “running for her life,” Nancy Pelosi was taking her time walking down the stairs while somebody is opening the door for her while she was being shouted out. I believe that’s a setup. I don’t want to sound like a conspiracy theorist here, but take a look at it. It’s a bunch of nonsense, and I don’t trust the Democrats. Never have. You never let a good crisis go to waste.

RUSH: Exactly. You’re right about the Clintons: There are no coincidences with them. This is a philosophy that I have extolled for years on this program, asking people to never forget. There are no coincidences. In fact, you know, you say these are all deep state players — Soros, Bill and Hillary, Obama and so forth. It is curious. They’re not even on the radar in the midterms when you get down to it, other than they’re trying to get themselves on the radar. But see, that’s the thing. They’re trying to get noticed.

The Clintons desperately need to be noticed all the time, and Obama is trying to recapture some glory, trying to show everybody he can still move the needle. It isn’t working. Now, the reason I think I’m responsible for the… What was it, “iron my shirt”? I used to at the Rush to Excellence Tour open up, you know, with some funny jokes, lines, stories, and so forth. I would tell people that I had just met Mrs. Clinton the week before and that it was the strangest, strangest thing.

We ended up in an elevator together and just the two of us.

She said, “You know, I could never say this outside this elevator, but for everything you’ve done to my family me, I can’t help it. I find you the most compelling, most interesting guy that I have run across. I’ve wanted to meet you for I don’t know how long ’cause you’re the kind of guy… You know, Mr. Limbaugh, it’s been a long time. I need to feel like a woman. I haven’t been made to feel like a woman, and you know why,” and I’m nodding.

“Sorry. I understand.”

“Could you make me feel like a woman?”

We’re here in the elevator, and I said, “I can give it a shot. Take off your clothes.” So she began to disrobe, and when she got not quite all the way, I said, “Okay, now, fold ’em.”
