RUSH: I mentioned this earlier and I want to run through the details of this. Mollie Hemingway has it from TheFederalist.com: “Incoming Democrat Chairman: Dems Will Go ‘All-In’ on Russia, Impeach Kavanaugh for ‘Perjury.'”  Mollie Hemingway of the Federalist was commuting yesterday. She was on a train (liberals love trains except when right-wingers are riding them) and Jerry Nadler, the former 400-pound chairman of whatever now… He’s down to what, 200? He lost a lot of weight out there.

It looks like somebody stuck a pin in the balloon and, “Psssss.”  He did. He lost a lot of weight out there.  He’s the incoming chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.  He was sitting close to her, and he was talking very loudly on his phone.  He wanted to be heard, I am convinced.  I don’t know that he recognized her, but he wanted to be heard.  I mean, this guy… Have you ever been on a plane or a train and somebody thinks they’re really hot stuff and they start being very, very loud about who they’re talking to?

That’s supposed to impress you — or what they’re saying? That’s supposed to impress you. Who they are is supposed to impress you.  That’s what he was doing.  We all are irritated by people like that.  These are basically insecure people who want to be stars, want to be thought of as recognizable stars.  So he’s out there, he’s making it plain as day who he is, and he’s not trying to hide anything.  He wants to be overheard.  Here’s just one pull quote:

“Nadler said Russia investigations would be under a broad umbrella of holding Trump ‘accountable,’ since it’s a more palatable argument than impeachment, that they would be going ‘all-in,’ and much of what they get to would be ‘depending on what [Robert] Mueller finds,'” and do not doubt me, they think Mueller… They still do. They think Mueller has the goods that Trump colluded with Russia.  Do not doubt me on that.

“Still, he said the Judiciary Committee would only be in a supportive role to Rep. Adam Schiff and the Intelligence Committee, which has ‘a way ahead start on that.’ Still, he said Judiciary ‘will have a role’ in the Russia investigations.” He “revealed plans for House Democrats to investigate and impeach Justice Brett Kavanaugh for alleged perjury and investigate and impeach President Donald Trump for alleged treasonous collusion with Russia.

“In post-election chats with various callers while riding the Acela train from New York to Washington, Nadler gave advice to a newly elected representative and discussed potential 2020 Democratic presidential nominees with another. He also lamented identity politics and the thriving economy…” He “lamented … the thriving economy”? He “worried about Democrats losing working-class voters while gaining elite former Republicans and suburban women.”

Why would he be worried about losing working-class voters while gaining elite former Republicans and suburban women?  Who are these elite Republicans?  Oh, these are the Never Trumpers.  He’s really of the opinion that the Never Trumpers are gonna finally just go all-in and become Democrats and voice open support for Democrat politicians and policies because they hate Trump.  “Nadler was headed to D.C. for a two-day planning session with his staff and Judiciary Committee staff.

“‘We’ve got to figure out what we’re doing,’ he explained in a phone call with a friend. Nadler requested that the friend’s name be concealed on the grounds he is a private citizen.”  So he wanted to be overheard and he’s telling the journalist: Don’t tell anybody here who I’m talking to.  So, in addition, Nadler and his friend “discussed two routes for investigating new Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh. The first is to go after the FBI for how they handled the investigation into unsubstantiated claims he sexually assaulted women.”

Never mind the fact that two of the women have come out and admitted they made it all up.  But Nadler is gonna investigate Kavanaugh for perjury, and then he said of the FBI, “They didn’t even do a half-ass job. They didn’t interview 30 witnesses who said ‘Interview me! I’ve got a lot to say!’” Because they probably figured out they were not witnesses, just a bunch of lying activists!

Remember the purpose that FBI investigation was not an investigation.  The reason the Democrats on the Judiciary Committee in the Senate wanted the FBI to investigate is that was how they were gonna get rid of Kavanaugh.  They were gonna go out and confirm what Blasey Ford was saying.  It blew up in their faces, which is what makes this kind of comical. Except it isn’t comical because they’re still gonna be gunning for Kavanaugh.  Now, I know, we’ll get to whether or not this plays.

I opened the program saying the mobs, the home invaders outside Tucker Carlson’s house and all these things? Is this what people really knowingly wanted to happen?  Is this who they really voted for on Tuesday?  The Democrats think so.  The Democrats think a majority of Americans want these mobs and want these protests and want these home invasions? They think a majority of Americans want all of these illegal immigrants to be granted amnesty and be admitted into the country?  They think you want that.

After they investigate the perjury charges against Kavanaugh, Nadler said “[h]is other plan is to go after Kavanaugh because ‘there’s a real indication that Kavanaugh committed perjury.’ He claimed that the Atlantic published an article about the allegations of a third woman. Then he claimed that when Kavanaugh was ‘asked at a committee hearing under oath when he first heard of the subject, he said, “When I’d heard of the Atlantic article.” But there is an email chain apparently dating from well before that from him about “How can we deal with this?”‘”

So they think they got Kavanaugh committing perjury in his testimony before the committee.  “Nadler was apparently discussing a slightly different claim, since debunked, which is that Kavanaugh perjured himself when he denied hearing of The New Yorker’s disputed allegation involving Deborah Ramirez until the story came out.” This is so in the weeds, and these people really, really believe that Kavanaugh is this human reprobate who got away with it.

The person that Nadler was talking to on the phone “then suggested that impeachment might still be worthwhile because the president elected in 2020 could nominate someone else. Nadler said the problem was that any investigation wouldn’t take long enough to last until the presidential election. ‘There are a finite amount of witnesses. I don’t see why it should take long at all,’ he said. ‘We’re not talking about a 30-year scheme of getting money from Russians via hidden sources — that takes time.’

“That was an apparent reference to Democrat beliefs in a dramatic and unsubstantiated theory that Trump conspired with Russia to steal the 2016 presidential election. He promised it would also be an avenue that Democrats would pursue vigorously at the launch of the new Congress.”  But what about Mueller? I thought Mueller had been doing that and had the goods.  It’s gonna happen “under a broad umbrella of holding Trump ‘accountable,’ since it’s a more palatable argument than impeachment, that they would be going ‘all-in,’ and much of what they get to would be ‘depending on what Mueller finds.'”

Anyway, he was making no effort to hide all this.

He wanted Mollie Hemingway to know everything that was going on.
