RUSH: The former mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel, has a brother, Ezekiel — nicknamed Zeke — who’s a medical doctor. He was one of the chief architects of Obamacare. Zeke chairs the Department of Medical Ethics and Health Policy at the University of Pennsylvania.

Five years ago, The Atlantic magazine published an article he wrote. It was entitled: “Why I Hope to Die at 75.” He said Americans live too long in a diminished state. He doubted whether older Americans’ consumption of resources is worth their meager contribution to society.

Well, now that he’s 62, Dr. Emanuel was asked what he thinks now. He says he hasn’t changed his mind.

He says only a very small number of people over 75 are active, engaged, and creative. He criticizes Americans for claiming that “children are our most valuable resource,” when we don’t act that way. He thinks it’s terrible that the government spends way more on the health needs of senior citizens than on kids. Well, kids don’t get sick, you id…? (laughing)

Dr. Emanuel intends to practice what he preaches. When he turns 75, he’s planning to call Bernie Sanders and say, “Hey, can you abort me?” He wishes more of you would do the same. After 75, skip medical care, go away somewhere, and die — after calling a Democrat president or candidate — quickly, so more tax money can be used “for the children.”

Now you know what passes for leftist “medical ethics” these days. You have been warned.
