RUSH: Here’s Pelosi at her press conference just a moment ago. She could not be more proud of what she has done.

PELOSI: One week ago, on January 6th, there was an active insurrection perpetrated on the Capitol of the United States incentivized by the president of the United States.

RUSH: It’s a lie. It’s a lie.

PELOSI: One week later, Wednesday to Wednesday, that president was impeached in a bipartisan way —

RUSH: Yeah.

PELOSI: — by the House of Representatives —

RUSH: Right!

PELOSI: — so urgent was the matter.

RUSH: Yeah?

PELOSI: — they’re now working on the — taking this to trial —

RUSH: Right.

PELOSI: — and then they… You’ll be the first to know, uh, w-when we, uh… um, announce that we’re going over there.

RUSH: You know, you better hurry up. You can’t do this when he leaves office. You better hurry up with this. It’s so urgent, she hasn’t even sent it to the Senate yet. “They’re working on taking this to trial, and when they do, you’ll be the first to know when we announce that we are going over there.”

She means to the Senate. “So urgent was the matter.” They just want to be able to say they impeached Trump twice. No president’s ever been impeached twice. They’re doing everything they can to hammer this guy into a political and maybe even an actual death. I don’t know. I have never seen anything like this.

And I’m telling you, folks, it means they are scared to death of the guy. They think that he’s going to rise from whatever ashes they create. They know there are at least 74 million of you that voted for him who are not abandoning him. They had hoped to affect that, to create that. They haven’t been able to, and they know it, and they’re deathly worried about all this.

“Did CNN Accidentally Prove That Trump Did NOT Call for Violence at the Capitol?” It’s a PJ Media story by Matt Margolis. It’s so obvious. Trump was guilty before he even took the oath of office in 2016. The pattern of accusing Trump of heinous crimes that he did not commit is so well established that the presumption must be Trump is innocent of anything Democrats claim he did ’cause they haven’t proved a damn thing.

So how long is it gonna be before Rasputin Jack bans this story on Twitter? “The political left and their allies in the mainstream media have gloated over the second impeachment of Trump. In record time, an article of impeachment alleging President Trump incited an insurrection at the U.S. Capitol were filed and approved by the House…

“But according to a new report from CNN, ‘Evidence uncovered so far, including weapons and tactics seen on surveillance video, suggests a level of planning that has led investigators,'” i.e., the FBI, “‘to believe the attack on the U.S. Capitol was not just a protest that spiraled out of control, a federal law enforcement official says.’

“This completely undermines the entire case Democrats made for impeaching Trump. CNN’s story also seems to support other reports that that the FBI had warned Capitol Police a day before the assault that there was evidence that an attack on the Capitol was expected…”

A day before it. CNN reports that investigators were given a heads-up a day before that an assault was coming, long before Trump ever made his so-called insurrection speech. You’re being lied to left and right by everybody on the left yet again.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Let’s start here with Evan Perez at CNN. This is the story, I think, that CNN does and accidentally proves that Trump did not call for violence at the Capitol. This bite means that Trump did not incite it. It’s yesterday, CNN Newsroom, a report by the senior justice correspondent Evan Perez about the investigation into the attack on the Capitol last week.

PEREZ: The indications that they’re getting, certainly from the evidence that the FBI and prosecutors are now in possession of, indicates that there were people who left the rally where the president was speaking outside of the White House. They could not bring any weapons anywhere close to where the president was. They left a little early and then they went to go retrieve some of the items that then were used in the assault on the Capitol and that includes things like crowbars, we saw people with sledgehammers, people with climbing ropes and climbing gear. People who clearly had trained and know exactly how to use these to get into a building. And so that’s what’s leading law enforcement to increasingly believe that there had to be a greater level of planning than was first thought.

RUSH: This guy doesn’t get it. He really doesn’t get it. This is the story CNN accidentally — Evan Perez does not realize what he reported. Trump didn’t call for any of that. Somebody go get me the words of Trump demanding people get climbing equipment, go out and find crowbars, sledgehammers, climbing ropes, climbing gear. Trump didn’t incite all that. He never once uttered any of those words. He never once asked people to engage in that kind of behavior. They even reported at CNN that people left before Trump’s speech was even over, which blows up the timeline that Trump’s speech caused all that happened.

Folks, it’s the big — I don’t know how we categorize this in terms of is it the big lie or was the Russian hoax lie bigger than this, but whatever, we are not getting the truth out of these people. In other words, in order to destroy Donald Trump, they have to lie. In order to ruin Donald Trump, they have to lie. They have to lie about him, they have to lie about you, they have to lie about all of us. I just look at this, and I marvel. This reporter doesn’t have a clue that his report essentially exonerates Trump.

Here is Robby Mook. Robby Mook was on CBS This Morning. He is the former Hillary Clinton campaign manager back in 2016. And the question: “Joe Biden wants to pass this massive relief package, but the Senate also has to consider an impeachment trial. How are they gonna do both?” The massive relief package is for COVID-19. So that’s what they got on the table. Do they take care of the American people with COVID-19 relief or do they go get Trump again, impeach him for the second time? Here’s the answer from Robby Mook.

MOOK: From what I’m hearing, they’re gonna try to get this impeachment done as quickly as they responsibly can because I think there is tremendous urgency to get to work on the COVID relief packages, the president-elect said last night. This is not partisan, I think, in their minds, by the way. This is really about creating a consequence and accountability for the president inciting this riot.

RUSH: Again, that’s just all over the place incoherent. The president didn’t incite anything. And CNN has inadvertently established that. But they’ve got their mantra. They have their narrative, and they are sticking to it. Do you believe — this ought to awaken a whole lot of you out there. You know, it’s not being reported, folks, and I’m not trying to be a downer here. There’s a great story coming up I have here from Peter Navarro who just went off on the Fox Business Channel about what is being done to Trump. But I have to tell you that — and you know it maybe better than I do. You know how bad it is?

I got two birthday cards here, and I told the staff, “Is there money in either? ‘Cause if there’s no money in here I’m not opening them.” And there was no money. The staff is hurting. No money in my birthday cards. Let me get serious. The amount of unemployment, the number of businesses that have been destroyed in Democrat blue states — oh. And how about this? Mr. Snerdley, have you heard about this?

Governor Cuomo in New York and Governor Lightweight in Illinois want to open up bars and restaurants inside service immediately. They don’t even want to wait for Plugs’ inauguration. Man, oh, man, was this predictable. New York City and Chicago, 372,000 small businesses destroyed, dead. Thank you, Democrats, 372,000 and counting. Now they want to open up bars and restaurants for inside service. They’re saying things like this lockdown can’t go on. We’ve gotta fix this. Well, this has been the case for over a year.

They’ve been chomping at the bit. They know they’re destroying their own cities, but they did it as loyal foot soldiers in a way of getting back at, maybe damaging and harming Donald Trump. But man, oh, man, the state of the U.S. economy is sad. And it’s all been done on purpose. It has all been done on purpose largely by Democrats. I know there were Republican votes for all of the spending on COVID relief, but it wouldn’t have been necessary if they had not shut down the country.

It was never necessary to do that, but they did it. It was never necessary. Have you seen in the U.K. where they’re talking about maybe masks forever? That people who live in the U.K. might face a mandate of wearing a mask for the rest of their lives. Such is the nature of the outbreak there. Now, you know what that means. That’s just another step that the left is taking in trying to control people.

I mentioned earlier that the Democrats are gonna have to hurry if they want this impeachment article of Trump’s to mean anything. Here’s Professor Dershowitz this morning. NewsMax TV national report. Question: “Mitch McConnell said that he would not rush the trial in the Senate before the president leaves office. It would happen after Biden is inaugurated. So this might sound like kind of an odd question, Professor, but when Trump is no longer president, can he still be impeached?”

DERSHOWITZ: Categorically “no.” The Congress only has authority over sitting presidents. The Constitution says that impeachment is to see if the president shall be removed. If the president can’t be removed, Congress has no jurisdiction. If they could do that, they could impeach you and me. I’m over 35 and I can run for president. So can they haul me in front of the Senate, impeach me, and say, “Now, Dershowitz, you can no longer run for president”? Can they now impeach Barack Obama? Can they now impeach Bill Clinton? It’s absurd.

RUSH: Well, that’s what they’re trying to say they can do, but that’s why I said they’re gonna have to hurry because Dershowitz is right here. You can’t impeach — look at the Constitution. The whole impeach section does not talk about ex-presidents, former presidents. They can’t do it. So that’s why I say Pelosi had better hurry, but here’s the Turtle, Cocaine Mitch, said that there isn’t gonna be a trial before Biden is inaugurated, which means that all this is nothing but academics. (interruption) Yeah, that’s true. Governor Cuomo, Governor Lightweight know that the cities — New York, Chicago, Seattle, Portland – they’re probably gonna be bailed out by the Democrat Congress.

Biden’s proposal is $2 trillion in new spending. The vast majority of that goes to bailing out Democrat cities. You knew this was gonna happen, which is why Biden can’t even agree to a $2,000 check. Only $1,400 ’cause they’ve gotta have the money, which we don’t have anyway, to bail out the cities. Never mind Biden promised $2,000 throughout his campaign, $2,000 to every American. Now it’s down to $1,400 ’cause they gotta bail out these Democrat cities who were very loyal and did everything they were asked to do in terms of damaging, harming, destroying, Donald Trump.

RUSH: All right. Here you go. Another one. This is the Washington Post on January 12. “FBI Report Warned of ‘War’ at Capitol, Contradicting Claims There Was No Indication of Looming Violence.” This is the FBI. The Washington Post is reporting that the “FBI warned of ‘war’ at the Capitol” long before Trump gave his speech. They’ve been saying that there was no indication of violence until Trump gave his speech. That’s just BS. It is an entire lie — and the Washington Post and CNN now prove it.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Let’s go to Long Island. This is Phil. You’re next, sir. Great to have you Open Line Friday. Hi.

CALLER: Hey, Rush. God bless you on your birthday there, I want to say that first. You know, there’s a couple things I would like to go over. I was there last Wednesday, but before we get to that, you know, we gotta remember one thing. Cuomo is a fearmonger, number one. And number two, when the White House was being attacked and the president asks for the National Guard to be sent from New York, he wouldn’t send them like a few other Democratic governors.

With that being said, when I was there last Wednesday, after the president spoke, there was already a march planned to go to the Capitol. That was planned days in advance and it was a peaceful protest and we were also supposed to go to the Supreme Court as well. When I got to the front of the Capitol, that would be about 1:40, 1:45, we went around the side towards the back where the Supreme Court faces, and there was no violence going on, no fighting going on, nobody storming the building. There was people up on the stairs, and nobody was attacking Capitol police officers.

If anybody looks at the footage of the back of the Capitol for that day, they’ll see none of that nonsense happening. There might have been some pushing and shoving around 4 o’clock as I was leaving on the side, but nothing like that happened. I also noticed there was two kids with a megaphone that came walking through the crowd at the top of those steps, and they said, “Look at that window, you can get in there, there’s only four cops that –”

RUSH: Now, wait a minute. Are you saying that — you can’t be saying this. You’re saying there was no violence at the Capitol that day?

CALLER: On the backside, facing the Supreme Court, there was no attacks on Capitol Police. Look at all the footage from the backside of the Capitol. It was also peaceful protesters back there.

RUSH: All right. But there was elsewhere, so what is —

CALLER: In the front. In the front.

RUSH: Yeah.

CALLER: A whole ‘nother place you can’t see. But when I got there, I went around the side toward the train station by the back, and there was no barricade, there was nobody storming —

RUSH: So to tie all this together. What’s the point?

CALLER: The point is that there was two separate things going on. Of course, if that was what they said all Trump supporters were doing, it’s not true. There was people in the back standing next to Capitol Police. Nobody was attacking them. Nobody was breaking through windows. Nobody was rioting. There was about eight cars —

RUSH: Okay. Okay. So you’re basically saying the Trump people were peaceful, they weren’t engaging in anything destructive or damaging, that it was the Antifa, Black Lives Matter people that were doing that and the media is lying to everybody about it. That’s your point, right?

CALLER: Rush, that’s one of my points. The point I’m making is they’re not showing the backside where there was no violence. There was no violence on the backside of the Capitol. There was eight cars parked there, no windows broken, none of them turned over —

RUSH: Okay, but your point is that peaceful Trump people were on the backside.

CALLER: Absolutely.

RUSH: All right.

CALLER: And now when that report came out last night that said that they got that guy from Utah there, that he went out and bought a hat and he was supposedly a journalist and they caught him trying to incite people, when I was up on the steps, on the backside, and I didn’t break through any Capitol Police, the steps were wide open back there. When I was up there, there was two preppie looking kids with a megaphone trying to get people to attack the cops and break through a window. And I said to them, “What are you doing? You’re inciting a riot here. That’s wrong. Why would you do that here?” They shut their mouths and they walked away from me and I followed a little bit and made sure nobody attacked those cops but I would love to go through the footage and point those two kids out and if those two kids were doing it and that guy in the front was doing it, there was a lot more of them doing.

RUSH: All right. All right. All right. We’re starting to get repetitive here. We’re looking for two kids, needle in a haystack and so forth. I appreciate the call, Phil. Thanks much.

Daniel, New Mexico. Great to have you on the program. Hello.

CALLER: Mega dittos, Rush, for healing and New Year’s and birthday. The impeachment, the second impeachment is just like when Obamacare was signed and Nancy Pelosi grabbed that giant mallet, gavel, and walked down the National Mall. This is a big F-U to all of us 75 million that voted for Trump —

RUSH: That’s right.

CALLER: — and to let us know our place —

RUSH: Yep.

CALLER: — and who’s in charge. They’re in charge, and we are not. That’s their message to us. Now, we don’t have to accept that message.

RUSH: What are you gonna do?

CALLER: Well, we can get the Tea Party reorganized. We could start — I had an idea, call it the 75, 75 million. If we could get 10% of those people to write letters to corporations, CBS, ABC, NBC, 7.5 million letters, handwritten, emailed, whatever, you don’t think that wouldn’t get noticed? A peaceful protest of letter writing —

RUSH: I don’t think you’d ever hear about it.

CALLER: — telling them who we are.

RUSH: I don’t think you’d ever hear about it. I don’t think they would open a single one of them once they found out what was going on.

CALLER: They probably would not, but then you go to the sponsors — Coca-Cola, Ford, GM, the national sponsors, and let them know.

RUSH: Yeah…

CALLER: People can cancel their Amazon Prime account. Netflix did the Obamas. Cancel Netflix, and a lot of people did.

RUSH: Have you heard what’s going on at Harvard?

CALLER: No, I have not.

RUSH: Harvard students, current students, undergraduates are demanding that any Harvard graduate who worked for Trump, like Kayleigh McEnany, have her degree taken away from her. They are demanding, the students are demanding that anybody that went to Harvard who got a degree — and hers is in law. She’s got an advanced law degree from Harvard — they’re demanding that those degrees be canceled and taken away. Do you think Harvard will do this?

CALLER: How the hell did they get into Harvard not knowing the First Amendment?

RUSH: Because the First Amendment’s not a factor anymore.

CALLER: Then how the hell did they get into Harvard? They are not that smart if they are demanding people’s rights be taken away.

RUSH: I don’t know. You’re talking about they’re not that smart. I think it’s another great example of how they’re always a step ahead. These are the students demanding this, not the faculty. The faculty will be next. The faculty, “Oh, yeah, this is a great idea.” This is the students demanding this. Now, what if Harvard does it? What if Harvard says, “You know what? We’re under a lot of pressure here and we may have made a mistake in credentialing these people with our precious Harvard degrees when we didn’t know who they were, and they might have misled us and misrepresented who they are.”

With the way things are going, I can see something like this actually happening. A lot of people, “Come on, Rush.” We’ve been saying for 30 years, “Come on, Rush, that will never happen” while we’re watching everything we thought would never happen, happen, right in front of our faces, right in front of our eyes. So I’ll take it back. You think 7.5 million people writing letters to Coke and Pepsi will have some kind of an impact.

I think Coke and Pepsi have already been threatened that if they show any kind of support for anybody that had anything to do with Trump their advertising will not be accepted. Their purchases will not be honored, and they’ll have nowhere to advertise their product. For everybody in the past that you thought ran the show, it’s not the case anymore. Advertisers don’t run the show. They used to. And in certain circumstances if you could get advertisers to participate in a boycott, then, yeah, you could say that they’re running the show, but still, somebody is organizing that. Somebody is still telling the advertisers what to do.

The advertisers are not behaving organically. And the left is way ahead. And whatever you think in terms of conventional wisdom, if you’re thinking along the lines of conventional wisdom, you’re admitting that you’re a couple steps behind of where things really are right now.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Representative Matt Gaetz of Florida, a Republican, was speaking from the floor of the House.

GAETZ: Before the rioters tore through that glass, Speaker Pelosi stood at that rostrum and tore through the president’s State of the Union speech, inciting anger, resentment, division. I denounce political violence from all ends of the spectrum, but make no mistake, the left in America has incited far more political violence than the right. For months, our cities burned, police stations burned, our businesses were shattered, and they said nothing. Or they cheer-led for it and they fundraised for it. Now some have cited the metaphor (commotion starts) that the president lit the flame. Well, they lit actual flames. (jeers start) Actual fires.

RUSH: Matt Gaetz on fire on the House floor. Now, he’s right. Pelosi did have her copy of the president’s State of the Union message, and she started ripping it page by page, ripping it to shreds. Do you know when she did that? She did that right after the president awarded me the Presidential Medal of Freedom. That’s what set her off, because of me getting that medal that night, and she was cheered and praised for it. It was infantile. It was childish. It was immature. But that’s the left, and they applauded her for. But that’s what Gaetz is talking about.
