Flashback: Hillary Screech on Dissent

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: We're gonna go back to the Grooveyard of Forgotten Favorites, one of everybody's favorite audio sound bites of all time.

Mrs. Clinton, back in the days when the Democrats started speaking out loudly and publicly about the war in Iraq -- back when it all started and in 2003, 2004, they were just getting ginned up -- and people were starting to say it may not be good. "You know, politics stops at the water's edge. When it comes to war, we're supposed to be united. Mrs. Clinton, I don't think that you..." This is back in the heady days when she was gonna be the Democrat nominee.

I forget where this was. It was someplace in the Northeast. It was a campaign appearance. Remember this, and keep in mind as you listen to this that the whole media narrative yesterday and today is that Romney shouldn'ta said a thing. He should shut up. He doesn't know what he's doing. He doesn't know what he's saying. He's shooting before he's aiming. But Mrs. Clinton had a whole different approach...

HILLARY 2003 (screeching): I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration, somehow you're not patriotic, and we should stand up and say, "WE ARE AMERICANS AND WE HAVE A RIGHT TO DEBATE AND DISAGREE WITH ANY ADMINISTRATION!"

RUSH: When I first heard that... Well, never mind, but that's Hillary Clinton. The year on that is April 2003. That's exactly what I thought it was. But Romney, of course, can't say a word. He's "shooting before he aims."
