RUSH: Starting in Charleston, South Carolina. This is Charity, and it’s great to have you here. Hi.

CALLER: Hi. How are you?

RUSH: Oh, I’m fine. Thanks very much.

CALLER: I just have a question about the football players that are suing about concussions. That’s their job. They get paid for that, right?

RUSH: Ah. They didn’t know.

CALLER: Well —

RUSH: The league was not up front and honest with them of the potential dangers involved from concussions as a result of playing football.

CALLER: Well, I’ve had plenty of concussions at my job, and you can trust me when I say that nobody warned me about the dangers of concussions before I got hired.

RUSH: What did you do in your job that caused you to get concussions?

CALLER: I gallop racehorses, and I work at a training center. We break babies and gallop horses.

RUSH: Oh, wow. So you’ve had concussions dealing with horses. You’ve probably fallen, you’ve been kicked, that kind of thing?

CALLER: Yeah, exactly. Exactly. When you’re breaking babies, it’s pretty much a given.

RUSH: Well look, things that need to happen… If I even go there, I’m gonna get creamed and I would have to recount the history of the concussion lawsuit in the NFL, and that would make people mad. You don’t have an organization… Have you had anybody commit suicide that works in your business because of a concussion?

CALLER: Suicide, yeah. What about Chris Antley?

RUSH: Uh —

CALLER: There have been plenty of people. Plenty of people.

RUSH: Well, then, you need organize, and you need to go get some trial lawyers, and you need to go to the media and claim that your employers never told you about any of this.

CALLER: There you go. That’s what we should do, because there’s no such thing as common sense.

RUSH: Everybody knows that horse owners are filthy rich. You see ’em. They drink mint juleps at the Kentucky Derby while you’re drinking, what, beer down in the paddock.

CALLER: We break horses for plenty of football players. They should be sympathetic to our cause for sure.

RUSH: Well, I think because of the —

CALLER: (laughing)

RUSH: The point that you’re making is, “Look, there are a lot of people getting hurt. Why are they suing?” That’s because there’s a big pile of money there.
