RUSH: This is Paul in Raleigh, North Carolina. Welcome, and great to have you here. Hi.

CALLER: Hey, Rush, thanks for taking my call.

RUSH: Yes, sir.

CALLER: After seeing the photo of the officer on the news there, officer — I can’t think of his name, down there in Ferguson —

RUSH: Darren Wilson.

CALLER: Wilson. Okay. I don’t think he was a bad cop or a racist cop. I think he was a scared cop. After already being in a confrontation —

RUSH: Don’t you understand, that’s racist. From a picture you think he looked scared?

CALLER: No, just from his size and knowing that he already took blows to the head, that’s already been reported. This kid was rushing him, that now is being reported.

RUSH: No, no, no, no. This is a gentle giant. There was no bull rush. His hands were up. He was surrendering, and it’s racist to be afraid of somebody like that if you’re a white cop. Don’t you get it?

CALLER: Well, I’m thinking he was a scared cop and he would do anything that Joe public would have done if he had a gun with him, is protect his life.

RUSH: Yeah, but you see the left’s take on this is that the only reason that trigger was pulled is because Michael Brown’s black. If Michael Brown had been 6-foot-4-inches; if he’d been 290 lbs; if he had just held up a convenience store; if he was bull rushing the cop, everything the same, the cop would not have pulled the trigger on a white guy. That’s the left’s story and they’re gonna manufacture that. They don’t care whether it’s true. That is what happens in America. It’s been happening since the days of slavery, and it’s still happening now, and until everybody believes it, they’re not gonna stop with this investigation. The media’s gonna be in Ferguson longer than CNN tried to find the missing Malaysian jet.

CALLER: Well, that’s another thing. The media’s gonna pack up and take off and those poor people in Ferguson are gonna be left holding the bag.

RUSH: Well, that is the Drive-By Media definition. You’ve got that right. They’ll head on down the road. But I think there’s always gonna be a media contingent. I expect to see Ferguson bureaus established. I wouldn’t be surprised if they put a bureau in Ferguson. Hey, this is not a one-off. You know this kind of thing happens all the time. There’s gonna be another one next week the minute the media gets out of there. Don’t you understand yet how this works? The myth is it happens all the time, so there has to be another one.

Obama’s gotta go there. Didn’t you hear Ann Compton’s question? “Mr. President, why aren’t you going? It’s one thing to send Holder. Why aren’t you going? There are towns all over this country worried about an eruption just like what happened in Ferguson.” Oh, really, Ann? Where? See, there aren’t any. You see, folks, this is a really rare occurrence which is one of the reasons why it’s such a big news story. If it happened all the time it would have been dealt with by now. If it happened all the time it wouldn’t be on the news because they would be dealing with it. But it is so rare, it’s so big news. But the die is cost, so to speak.

How long was Shep Smith and those boys, how long was Anderson Cooper, how long did they stay in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and then how much time did they spend in Houston tracking down the refugees from New Orleans and trying to talk ’em into going back? The media at large, I mean they may pack up and head on down the road to the next hoped-for tragedy, but there’s always gonna be a media contingent here until this thing gets done.

I guarantee you, this is so easy to see, this, quote, unquote, investigation. I mean, they’re even they’re admitting it’s going to take months. This investigation, I predict to you, will terminate shortly after the November elections. Maybe, depending on what the outcome is, right before then. But that’s the target date for this to have been adjudicated and dealt with. I appreciate the call very much.

Joan in Palm Springs, California. What a great place to go play golf. I got some great friends out there.

CALLER: One of your favorite places.

RUSH: Well, it is. It’s sad to see that Obama has bought property there.

CALLER: Oh, I know.

RUSH: But it’s a big enough place that —

CALLER: Well, I live in Rancho Mirage, actually.

RUSH: Oh, you do?

CALLER: Uh-huh.

RUSH: Rancho Mirage, wasn’t that Bob Hope and Sinatra and —

CALLER: Mr. Snerdley didn’t know where that was, so that’s why I said Palm Springs.

RUSH: Well, Rancho Mirage, La Quinta, it’s all Palm Springs, palm desert.

CALLER: That’s why I said it, exactly. I also told him years ago I wanted to be one of your mistresses, long ago, in the eighties, and I thought, “Oh, boy, I have all the qualifications.”

RUSH: (laughing) One of my mistresses.

CALLER: But, anyway, my question is why hasn’t anyone said anything about the storekeeper who was on the video, who was being pushed around by our perp. Or I shouldn’t say perp, I guess.

RUSH: You mean the gentle giant?

CALLER: The gentle — that’s what I was trying to say.

RUSH: The gentle giant.

CALLER: Gentle giant.

RUSH: I know what you’re talking about, the gentle giant.

CALLER: The little man was being pushed out of the way in a store, no one’s ever mentioned him —

RUSH: The gentle giant is leaving the store and somebody comes up to him, it looks like the proprietor, and it looks like he says, “You can’t take that,” and the gentle giant shoves him in the chest and points a finger at him.

CALLER: Hmm. And he’s never been questioned, that we know.

RUSH: Yeah. He may not have been questioned by the media, but I imagine that the police department has found him, and I’m sure that one of the 40 FBI agents in town will find the guy. The storekeeper —

CALLER: And also what he stole was pertinent to what they may have found in his system as well.

RUSH: Yes. Yes. I think the storekeeper is probably afraid for his life.

CALLER: Probably. But so is Mr. Wilson, for crying out loud, getting his name out like that.

RUSH: Oh, yeah, I mean, how about this. The media shows a picture of his house. They draw maps to where Darren Wilson lives. They broadcast his address, and after they do that, then they say, “Oh, my God, we’re sorry, we didn’t mean to.” And then they pull it down. After it’s already cached. All you gotta do is go to Google or YouTube and you can see all of it. When I saw that, and that was over the weekend, it’s just one of the many things, folks, that tells you what’s going on here and tells you what the media, which is the Democrat Party, what their outcome, what their hoped for, angled for outcome is.

Have you seen the home or the address of the family of the gentle giant? We haven’t? Okay. We haven’t. Everybody knows where the police department is and where the mayor’s office is in St. Louis. People have been protesting there. But there’s no reason to put the cop’s address on camera, on TV, in media. There’s no reason to put a map and directions and pictures of the house and so forth, even though he’s not there. They want to make sure they got the right one. I mean, the fact that it’s done is blatant in terms of the purpose, the reason, the motivation.
