RUSH: Sal in San Diego. I’m glad you waited, sir. You’re next on the Rush Limbaugh program. Hello.

CALLER: Hello, Rush. Mega dittos from sunny San Diego.

RUSH: Thank you, sir.

CALLER: I just wanted to mention that I started listening to you back when you were having technical difficulties on the air with your hearing, and I was wondering if the talent on loan from God was coming to an end. I’m glad it didn’t.

RUSH: When you started listening to me, I was having my hearing loss, and you were wondering if the talent on loan from God was coming to an end?

CALLER: Yes, sir.

RUSH: Well, obviously not.

CALLER: Correct, correct. So that’s why I kept listening to see when it was gonna come to an end, and it didn’t, so that’s good news.

RUSH: It’s miraculous news. It’s great. Is your name Sal? You are from San Diego, right?

CALLER: Yes, sir.

RUSH: Okay, ’cause it says here you wanted to talk about Obama being an example to people.

CALLER: Yes, yes. I did have a question and a comment, and wanted to ask that question.

RUSH: Yeah. Well, time is dwindling, is the reason I bring that up.

CALLER: Okay. I just wanted to mention that when you made a statement back about five or six months ago about the president’s missed opportunity… (static flare)

RUSH: I didn’t get that. What missed opportunity? (interruption) Snerdley, I think you got scammed there. Either that or he just choked ’cause he’s nervous. Why did you take…? (interruption) I don’t know. I… (interruption) No, he didn’t hang up. That was a gunshot! That was a gunshot. He didn’t hang up. I know gunshots when I hear ’em on the phone, and he didn’t hang up. I heard it. That was a gunshot. And he’s gone, right? (interruption)

Oh, no.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Folks, I’m happy to inform you that Sal in San Diego was not shot 20 minutes ago. That’s not why we lost his cell. He’s back. His cell phone battery died or his connection or something. So Sal, we’re happy to hear you didn’t get shot, and welcome back to the program. What’s up?

CALLER: Thank you, Rush. I’ll get to my question. You had made a statement about five or six months ago about the president’s missed opportunity. This was about the time that you had mentioned that if Republican allegations started coming out at about this time, close to the next election, because the Democrats were cleaning house by convicting or causing some of their people to resign because of bad things going on, on their end. Because the president is a big example of what you mentioned, and my question is, is the president setting a precedent for working people that it is okay to slouch on the job by playing golf. Or, for all the unemployed people, since there’s no work, might as well take a hobby and maybe golf was it?

RUSH: Well, the honest answer to that question is, Sal, he doesn’t care about the unemployed. I’m sorry. He just doesn’t care. This is a president who flaunts his access to the good life. He flaunts it. He wears it proudly. He’s in your face, our face, about it. He and his wife flying to the same place on two separate jumbo jets four hours apart, in one vacation example. I think the president buys into his own myths, and one of the myths that’s out there is that we’re in an economic recovery and that job creation is happening.

The president lives in a buzz world, in a PR world, an image world, not in reality. And if his media will report what his Regime says, that there’s an economic recovery going on, and that jobs are being found now, then that’s all that matters. What you can make people think, what impression you can make or leave, what image you can create. But even when we were acknowledged to be at the low point of a recession, with no job creation, Obama was still partying, and the excuse was, “Well, the American people want to see their president keeping an even keel. They know he works hard. They need to see him taking time off, to understand that he’s recharging mentally and emotionally,” and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Sending a signal to the unemployed that he doesn’t care. I don’t think he cares.

I don’t think he cares about the problems with Obamacare, not the individual problems. He doesn’t care about that. All he cares is that it’s the law of the land. That was his objective. He got it passed and signed. That’s the objective. And, in time, whether you like it or not isn’t gonna matter. The government’s gonna be in total control of your health and health care. That’s all that matters. How we get there, bumps in the road, it’s fine. Whatever it takes, end result, but little bumps in the road, individual suffering, nah, not that big a deal.

Look, I mentioned earlier in the program Luis Gutierrez, the Democrat from Illinois just can barely contain himself. He’s running around all over telling everybody to get ready ’cause Obama, by Labor Day — folks, that’s just a week. Labor Day is Monday. Is that right? Is that right? By Monday, by this weekend or Monday, he’s going to grant amnesty to at least five million illegals, executive order. Luis Gutierrez is running around happily telling anybody who will listen, telling everybody to get ready. What’s that gonna do for the job market? That’s the end of any deportations, if that happens. I mean, it’s gonna set this country ablaze in a whole host of ways. He doesn’t care.

This is where, when people say the job’s beneath him and he’s so far above us, and he’s so far down the road we cannot even hope to keep up, I mean, this kind of thing is where that’s true. He doesn’t care about any of the things that aren’t working. They’re just all part of the process to get where he wants this country to end up being. In fact, some people are gonna have to experience a little pain, damn it. They deserve to. This country’s had it too easy for way too long. This country, compared to the rest of the world, life has been a piece of cake. It’s about time we found out what real suffering is. It’s about time some people in this country found out what hard life is really all about. I think some of this is programmed into this transformation.
