RUSH: Hillary Clinton says — and I can’t wait ’til the Millennials find this out. Hillary Clinton, she defined smart power. Remember this? It was a speech that she gave at Georgetown University, foreign policy speech and press conference, the event was half empty. This is back in, what was it, December, almost a year ago, December 5th of 2014. She shows up at Georgetown, foreign policy press conference, and nobody’s there. The room is half full. I remember commenting at the time, she can’t sell a book, she can’t draw people to a book signing, and my constant refrain, “Why are people afraid of her?” I think the reason people are afraid of her is ’cause they know the Clintons are a corrupt bunch of people that will engage in any activity. It’s not a fair fight, plus there’s a D by her name.

But, anyway, here’s what she said at this foreign policy press conference. And I just want to remind you of this in light of what happened this past weekend. Hillary said (imitating Hillary), “This is what we call smart power, using every possible tool and partner to advance peace and security, leaving no one on the sidelines, showing respect even for one’s enemies, trying to understand, and insofar as psychologically possible, empathize with the perspective and point of view of our enemies.” That’s a year ago, that’s Hillary Clinton. I can’t wait, I hope somebody makes an ad out of that before the week is over and keeps running it all the way up to the presidential campaign. “Smart power, showing respect for one’s enemies.”

And none other than that great foreign policy expert, Madonna, is out basically echoing this. Madonna said (imitating Madonna), “We must love these people. We must show them the love. We must teach them Vogue. We must do everything we can to show them how much we care for them, and that will disarm them. They think we hate them. They think that we despise ’em. If we show them that we mean them no harm, they will drop every bit of this.”

There are people that believe this. You would not believe — and I’m gonna share it with you before the program’s over. You would not believe some of the stuff being stated by this same group of college nuts, these propagandized kids. “We must understand, these people are just seeking their own place in the world. It’s not for us to blame them,” blah, blah, blah. Bernie Sanders at the Democrat debate actually said that all of this is happening because of climate change. Now, I know you’re thinking, climate change, what’s that have to do with it? Well, climate change is the reason for all the migration, you see. It’s getting really hot in the desert. It’s getting really hot where these people live, and they’re moving to northern Europe to cool off. They’re going to Germany and Sweden and the Scandinavian countries and Greece. They’re going there to cool off because it’s so hot where they live.

He says this as though he genuinely believes it, and I think he probably does. He does believe it. We’re dealing with Froot Loops here. And they’re led by a guy, Barack Hussein O, who just is an unmitigated disaster. And whatever you think of his intellect and so forth, he is incapable of leading. He’s incapable of identifying the problem, and that’s being generous.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: I want to give you the audio sound bite before we get to Obama. I mentioned this, and I want you to hear it. It’s Hillary Clinton December 3rd, 2014, Georgetown University, foreign policy press conference. This is the place that’s only barely half full. This is what Hillary said, the portion of her remarks, this is how she defines smart power and what it would be, how she would use it were she president.

HILLARY: This is what we call smart power. Using every possible tool and partner to advance peace and security; leaving no one on the sidelines; showing respect even for one’s enemies; trying to understand and insofar as psychologically possible, empathize with their perspective and point of view, helping to define the problems, determine the solutions. That is what we believe in the twenty-first century will change, change the prospects for peace.

RUSH: That’s Hillary Clinton almost a year ago explaining smart power. Every possible tool to advance peace and security. Of course none of this applies when talking about Republicans or conservatives. As far as they are concerned, we will not be interested in their perspective or their point of view, and we will not help to understand and define their problems and look for solutions. No, we’re only talking about Islamists here. That’s essentially what she’s saying.
