RUSH: This is our 10-year-old little girl from Cynthiana, Kentucky. Jensen, thank you. I appreciate your holding on for so long and waiting. How are you?

CALLER: Good.

RUSH: Well, that’s great. What’s up?

CALLER: Well, I just wanted to thank you and everybody at Two If By Tea for sending the books to my school.

RUSH: Oh, you’re at one of the schools we sent a whole bunch of books to?

CALLER: Yes.

RUSH: How many did you get?

CALLER: I think we got 60.

RUSH: Yeah, 60 books. We sent out a lot. We sent like 10,000 or 15,000 books out to schools as a charitable donation to schools across the country. Well, that’s great. I’m glad to hear from somebody at a school who got a shipment of them. Have you read it?

CALLER: Yes.

RUSH: Are you finished with it?

CALLER: Yes.

RUSH: And I’m assuming, ’cause you sound very happy, that you really liked it and thought it was maybe one of the best books you’ve ever read?

CALLER: Yes, I loved it.

RUSH: And you probably, if I’m right, you probably can’t wait for the next one?

CALLER: Yes, I’m super excited.

RUSH: Aw, I can hear it in your voice. How long did it take you to read Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims?

CALLER: It didn’t take me too long, but I took a break in between.

RUSH: Oh, really?

CALLER: ‘Cause I had to read a book for school, so —

RUSH: Yeah, sometimes you gotta do boring stuff in the midst of things you really like.

CALLER: Yes.

RUSH: Well, is there anything in Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims, was there anything in there, that you hadn’t been taught or that was a surprise to you?

CALLER: Well, a lot of it was because I haven’t really gotten to that in school.

RUSH: Okay, if you’re 10 years old, what grade are you in?

CALLER: Fifth.

RUSH: You’re in the fifth grade?

CALLER: Yes.

RUSH: At 10 years old. Well, and they haven’t gotten to the Pilgrims yet and Thanksgiving and all that?

CALLER: Nope. We’re starting history this week, so —

RUSH: Okay. I can’t remember how old I was when I was taught about it. I mean, in school. I know my family taught me all about it when I was young. Let me guess. If you had to pick a favorite character it would be the horse, Liberty?

CALLER: Yes.

RUSH: And why?

CALLER: He’s just super funny.

RUSH: He’s just super funny. Yeah, he is. Gets into all kinds of trouble, but he’d be a good friend to have.

CALLER: Yeah.

RUSH: He’d be a really cool friend to have. Well, did your parents get you the audio version so you could listen to me read the book? Have you got that?

CALLER: Nope.

RUSH: You don’t have that. Well, I’ll tell you what I’m going to do, ’cause I’m proud of that. It’s every word. It’s not shortened or any of that, and I think it’s either four or six CDs. I can’t remember off the top of my head. But, even if you’ve read the book, Jensen, this is a different experience, because all you have to do is sit back and listen to it, and I think you’ll enjoy the whole story again, if you can find time. You can listen to it whenever you have time, 10 minutes here, 15 minutes there, you can ask your mom or your dad to pop it in the car when you’re driving around if you’re with them and could listen to it then. So, if you don’t mind, I would like to send you one of those.

CALLER: That’d be great. I’d love that.

RUSH: Cool. I’ll tell you what else. We have these cute little Two If By Tea bears, Ted-Tea Bear. We contracted and got these things a long time ago and we’ve had them in our little gift shop at our website. I’m gonna send you one of those, too, with the audio version so that you’ll be ready for the next book, which comes out March 11th. Do you know if your parents have pre-ordered the second one yet?

CALLER: No, not yet, but I really want them to.

RUSH: Well, you’ll have it soon enough ’cause it’s March the 11th, in like eight days, a week from tomorrow. The second book will start racing off the shelves as people start gobbling it up. So, if you’ll hang on, Jensen, Mr. Snerdley will be back on the phone and get your address so we can send the audio version to you and a Ted-Tea Bear.

CALLER: Okay.

RUSH: All right? And thanks for liking it. I appreciate that you liked it, and I’m glad you called.

CALLER: Thank you.

RUSH: You bet. We’ve donated over 15,000 copies of Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims to schools all over the fruited plain, and liberal heads have been exploding left and right as a result.
