RUSH: Here’s Sandy in Davenport, Iowa. Sandy, hi. Glad you waited. Great to have you on Open Line Friday. Hi.

CALLER: Hi. It’s great to get through to you.

RUSH: Thank you very much.

CALLER: It’s my first time, so I’m nervous.

RUSH: Your first time? They say you never forget.

CALLER: Oh, I probably won’t. I’m shocked that I got through, but it’s great.

RUSH: I’m glad you’re here.

CALLER: I think I was meant to talk to you today. I was listening to you today in my home, and I opened my — got my mail, opened it up, and I know as soon as I see my Wellmark envelope that it’s gonna be probably be a premium increase, and of course it was, so it’s going up another $53. I pay 890 now. Now I’ll have to pay 943.

RUSH: Wait. A month?

CALLER: Yes.

RUSH: No, no, no, no, no. You’ve got to be wrong. Obama said that people’s premiums are gonna be — they’re either gonna come — he said they’re gonna be reduced $2500.

CALLER: No. Well, I knew that wasn’t true. So —

RUSH: Oh.

CALLER: But I don’t know how anybody can pay that. I know last year —

RUSH: What is your deductible?

CALLER: 4200.

RUSH: So you’ve got out of pocket 4200 before you even have any contribution from the insurance policy?

CALLER: Yes.

RUSH: And for that you’re paying nearly $500 a month be with did you say, or 900?

CALLER: Right now we’re paying 890 a month.

RUSH: Go to nine —

CALLER: And now it’s gonna go up to 934.

RUSH: And you’re thinking man, what a deal, and you’re probably think you — well, you know, Wellmark is gonna be in trouble. I mean, who — you’re right, who can pay this? You see, this is the object. I — look, I’m not trying to be —

CALLER: I guess — how — you either gotta eat or pay your bills or —

RUSH: Right.

CALLER: I guess why not, why have insurance? Just pay for it when you get sick and —

RUSH: Except no, see, now, if you do that, you’re gonna get a fine. The IRS is gonna take out of your refund what you should be pay. There’s a fine schedule.

CALLER: Well, be cheaper.

RUSH: For the first couple years, yes. For the first. That’s the plan. The first couple years you are to pay the fine, and by that time, Wellmark is gone, and every other private sector insurance company is gone, and after you’ve paid your fines a couple years and the private sector’s wiped out, you’ve only got one place to go: HealthCare.gov.

CALLER: And that’s probably what they’re trying to do with keeping on raising this, right?

RUSH: I don’t know that Wellmark is trying, but I know that’s what the Democrat plan is, that’s what their — that’s what their orgasm dream has been about, is government-run, it’s called single payer socialized medicine.

CALLER: Right.

RUSH: That’s — you get that fully implemented, you have total control over the population.

CALLER: So what can we do to get this lowered or get rid of it?

RUSH: This is going to require a full-on effort of the Republican Party to repeal as much of this, and it’s getting harder as time goes on, as this settles in, as the tentacles of Obamacare dig deep into the fabric of society, it’s gonna get harder and harder and harder once these benefits start pouring, the subsidies, to yank it away from people. But see, I don’t know what you do, when you can’t afford it, when you can’t pay it, and when the fines become more expensive than the policy —

CALLER: Well —

RUSH: — I think that’s when magic will happen and there will be a plan for you at HealthCare.gov, down the road.

CALLER: Supposedly we’re grandfathered in, so –

RUSH: How that his working out for you?

CALLER: Well, I get to keep the doctors that I have now, of course, I guess so, is what that means. So that’s why I don’t want to go on the website and do all that garbage.

RUSH: Right.

CALLER: So — but it says on my paper here, says, “This amount may also reflect a new age category you moved into.” What’s the new age category that I moved into?

RUSH: It means your age, they’re grouping people demographically by age, and of course, as you get older, your insurance gets more expensive. So they just arbitrarily put you in a new age category. I don’t think they mean head to the mountaintop and start doing harmonic convergence, not that kind of New Age. I think they’re talking about your chronological age. But you could go to Mount Shasta and go, “Ohm” and see if it lowers your premium. I mean, it’s as good as any other thing.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: I was not trying to be mean to the previous caller. When I couldn’t afford something, I didn’t buy it, but health insurance is a different thing. There’s a story here about Blue Cross has revealed 2015 health insurance rate increases, “North Carolina’s largest health insurer said Wednesday their rates are gonna go up 13% on average.” I think it’s — I don’t want to say “criminal”– but it really is disingenuous. They’ve out there promising everybody their premiums are gonna come down, keep your doctor. The lies that were told to gain support for this thing, I don’t know what to do if you can’t afford it. The one thing you can do is vote, but that’s not gonna reduce your premium, but one thing you can do is take whatever step you can to get rid of the Regime and the party that has imposed this on everybody.

This breaks my heart, this is so predictable. We could see this coming a mile away. And what’s gonna happen is, a lot of people aren’t gonna be able to afford it, and that’s when the government’s gonna go in as the savior. That’s when Obama, whoever is the president, is gonna come in and say, “We’ve got the plan, we’ve got the solution for you.” HealthCare.gov, government-run healthcare, whatever it is, and it’ll be subsidized, and it’ll be affordable and so forth. The government doesn’t have to make a profit on anything. They never do.
