RUSH: Okay, so there was a forum last night hosted by Matt Lauer of NBC News.  This is amazing.  Matt Lauer is catching it from both ends.  The rule of thumb is that when anybody moderating or hosting an event like this gets it from both ends, that they’re doing a good job.  If everybody’s gotta complaint, if everybody’s whining about it, they may have done a good job.

I must tell you, ladies and gentlemen, I shouldn’t admit this.  I didn’t see it. (interruption) You knew that?  I forgot that it was on.  I shouldn’t admit this, but I figure why not be honest with you.  I forgot that it was on.  Last night was — I mean, it was a hectic, chaotic night for a whole host of reasons.  I had all kinds of software upgrades to do, beta upgrades to do, testing.  Then I had to watch the Apple event that was on during the program yesterday, and I just forgot this thing was on.

Later in the night I’m checking the internet and I’m seeing stories about it and I start slapping myself, “Oh, no, I forgot to watch this thing?”  So I get up today, start reading about it, and there’s some things that really — Hillary Clinton is lying her head off again about this email business and classified documents which we’re gonna illustrate here in just a second.  And the media, in a lot of places, particularly conservative media is just livid with Trump for supposedly sidling up to Vladimir Putin.

Trump was supposedly praising Putin and talking about how great his poll numbers are, and the reaction to it, “What? This guy is swallowing up Crimea. He’s murdering journalists, and here’s Trump out there singing the guy’s praises, oh, my.”  I mean, there are a lot of pieces out there saying, “Is this the best we’ve got? Are these two the best we’ve got?  We are doomed no matter who wins this. We are doomed no matter who loses this.”  It was apparently a very sobering night, because in many people’s estimation, neither candidate acquitted themselves last night.

Did you watch it?  You didn’t, either.  Oh, Snerdley says he didn’t want to watch it.  What are you trying to parse — (interruption) so you’re not overdosing on this stuff so you are only taking a few — (interruption) tired of it last night, tired of it, you reached your emotional limit.  You didn’t watch.  Interesting.  Snerdley is a wonk like you have never seen.  Snerdley is immersed in this stuff.  And for him to tell me, “My glass was full, I couldn’t take any more of it.”  Brian, were you watching any of it or were you reading the Tampa Bay Bucs final roster?  Dawn, did you watch?  You did!  You did.  You weren’t talking to your daughters?

Well, we’ve got the audio sound bites here so we’re gonna review it.  One of the great things about me as your host, I don’t have to have seen it to tell you what you saw.  “Did you hear what he just said, Mabel? He said he doesn’t have to see it in order to tell us what we saw!”  That’s true, folks, I don’t have to have seen it to tell you what you saw.  All I have to do is listen to a couple of sound bites and I can tell you exactly what happened.

RUSH: The audio sound bite roster.  Yeah.  Let’s look here at number one.  Let’s go back to set this all up.  This is what you have to remember.  I don’t know how many people do.  March 10, 2015, Hillary Clinton, first press conference ever talking about her private email server and the scandal attached to it.  She chose the UN, if you recall, because it was thought that the journalists, the press corps at the UN was an internationalist press corps and didn’t know diddly-squat about domestic American issues, including her email server. =

And she got the surprise of her life.  They were well informed, they were loaded for bear, and she had to walk out of this press conference much sooner than she anticipated.  But here’s the question:  “Were you ever specifically briefed on the security implications of using your own server and using your personal address to email with the president?”

HILLARY:  I did not email any, um, classified material to anyone on my email.  There is no classified material.  So I’m certainly well aware, uh, of the, uh, classification, uh, requirements and, uh, did not send classified material.

RUSH:  (Coughing)  Excuse me.  Don’t forget that.  She said, “I did not email any classified material to anyone on my email.  There is no classified material.”  Don’t forget, that is March 2015.  Remember — (coughing) — back.

RUSH: So I got a note here from Cookie.  “Dear Rush.”  Well, actually it says, “Hi, Rush.  I watched the forum last night.  It’s my job.”  Ew hoo!  So another employee jabbing the host, another employee reminding me that I didn’t do my job last night while she did hers.  This is how free my employees are to deal with me.  I just pass this on so you know.

Anyway, “Hi, Rush.  I watched the forum, and Hillary was angry and dull, and Matt Lauer let her go on and on so she didn’t have to answer many questions.  And then Trump came on.  He was not his best last night, Rush.  Lauer was all over him.  Trump was being Trump, not backing down, answering the questions directly and defensively.  It’s what gets him in trouble instead of ignoring or blowing off their questions and saying what he wants to say, like politicians do.”

That’s Trump, by the way.  Trump does not do politics.  Well, he doesn’t behave like a politician.  They ask him a question, he’ll answer it, for good or bad.  So, anyway, that’s a review of somebody who’s job is to watch this stuff and then provide the audio sound bites.

So I want to go back again to this sound bite that starts this whole thing off.  This is Hillary’s UN press conference back on March 10th, 2015, first press conference on the email scandal, the private server in the home, the bathroom, whatever it was, Chappaqua, chose the UN because it was thought the press corps there would not be up to speed on domestic American political issues. Hillary thought it would be a cakewalk. Plus the UN press contingent thought to be totally slavish to a former American diplomat, Hillary Clinton, secretary of state, basically puff piece, puffball questions.

Turned out not to be that.  The UN press corps was up to speed, and they were pretty hard-hitting, and Hillary walked out of this press conference much sooner than she intended to.  But this is the foundational answer that sets up everything to follow.  Again, the question:  “Were you ever specifically briefed on the security implications of using your own email server and using your personal email address to email with the president?”  It’s a very good question.  Did anybody ever warn you, were you briefed on how risky it was to use your own unprotected email server to send classified stuff back and forth to the president?

HILLARY:  I did not email any, um, classified material to anyone on my email.  There is no classified material.  So I’m certainly well aware, uh, of the, uh, classification, uh, requirements and, uh, did not send classified material.

RUSH:  Well, now, how does that square with what has since been said by Hillary Clinton?  She has admitted many times that she has sent classified information, or that she didn’t know it was classified.  (imitating Hillary) “I thought it was alphabetical. See, I didn’t realize it meant confidential or I didn’t realize it meant secure or classified or any of that.”  So she’s gone from saying at the very beginning of this that she never trafficked in classified material to now giving excuses and explaining how, “Yeah, yeah, I sent classified stuff, but it was never at risk, it was all protected. I take it very seriously.”

This is the biggest lie of all of this. To open up with this whole subject back in 2015, which is now just a little under a year and a half ago, “I never sent classified data.”  Now, the media can talk about Trump all they like, but this forum last night, if you ask me, if people watched both sides of it, this had to be the — what would you say? — circumstance or the element of the whole night that determined who won or who lost or who looked better or who looked worse.  This is Lieutenant Jon Lester, United States Navy retired, asking a question of Mrs. Clinton.

LESTER:  As a naval flight officer I held a top secret sensitive compartmentalized information clearance, and that provided me access to materials and information highly sensitive to our war fighting capabilities.  Had I communicated this information without following proscribed protocols, I would have been prosecuted and imprisoned.  Secretary Clinton, how can you expect those such as myself who were and are entrusted with America’s most sensitive information to have any confidence in your leadership as president when you clearly corrupted our national security?

RUSH:  Why hasn’t the press asked that question?  This is the first thing that struck me when I saw this, plus applauding Lieutenant Lester.  But this is it.  He said right out of the box, as a naval flight officer, I held a top secret sensitive compartmentalized information clearance.  Had I communicated this information not following proscribed protocols like you didn’t, Mrs. Clinton, I would have been prosecuted and put in jail.  So, Mrs. Clinton, how can you expect people like me to have any confidence in your leadership as president when you corrupted national security?  Not just trafficked in it.  When you corrupted it.

The media should have been asking this question for months by now.  Snerdley and I were talking about this today, in fact.  When he came in I asked him, “Did you watch this thing last night?”

“No, but I saw this press conference.”  And he started fuming and cursing about Hillary’s press conference. She did a tarmac press conference at White Plains up in Westchester County, White Plains airport.  I think it’s where it was.  She’s got the putrid painted new jet of hers, that baby blue pink, supposed to look like Air Force One blue.  And she’s out there talking with the press, and the press is just saying, “Your hair looks so wonderful. Did you get enough sleep last night?  How’s your health?”

And Andrea Mitchell is making some comments, and Hillary, “Oh, Andrea, I just love you, I just love you, Andrea, you’re just indefatigable, oh, my God, I just love you.”  And Snerdley came in complaining about the way the —  I said, “What are you talking about?  They did their job. That’s exactly what they’re supposed to do.”  What’d Biden say the other day, Hillary’s got to show her heart.  So what’s the media do?  Show that she has a heart.  They’re not gonna ask her heart any questions.

This is a great example.  The media should have asked the question that the lieutenant, the retired lieutenant in the Navy did, but they aren’t, they’re protecting her.  And people get mad when they see the way the media treats her.  Why waste the energy getting mad when you know they’re not gonna do anything other than that?

Folks, look, they’re not media; they are Democrat Party hacks and activists, and they are disguised as journalists, but their job is to get Hillary Clinton elected. Their job is to take Donald Trump out. Their job is to promote her. Their job is not to ask her tough questions. They’re not to call her to account. They’re not to do anything of the sort, and this is evidence that it took a retired Navy man getting into this forum last night to ask her the question.  Here’s how she responded.

HILLARY:  You know and I know classified material is designated, it is marked.  There is a header so that there’s no dispute at all that what is being communicated to or from someone who has that access is marked “classified.”  And what we have here is the use of an unclassified system by hundreds of people in our government to send information that was not marked, there were no headers, there was no statement “top secret, secret, or confidential.”  I communicated about classified material on a wholly separate system.  I took it very seriously.

RUSH:  Hold it a minute.  Grab number one.  “I communicated about classified material on a wholly separate system.  I took it very seriously.”  Here’s what she said again back in March.

HILLARY:  I did not email any, um, classified material to anyone on my email.  There is no classified material.  So I’m certainly well aware, uh, of the, uh, classification, uh, requirements and, uh, did not send classified material.

RUSH:  She has told so many lies about this, she doesn’t remember who she said what to.  So she says to the retired Navy lieutenant, “I communicated about classified material on a wholly separate system” back in March 2015, “I did not email any classified material.”

Now, this business on the headers.  Look, folks, all of this gets in the weeds.  And I think we’re here to try to inform, educate, and persuade people, let’s make no bones about it.  This email stuff been going on for so long that a lot of people do have fatigue on it. The minute you bring it up, “I don’t want to hear it. I’m tired of it. It doesn’t make any sense to me, they all do it.” And they tune out.  So it’s the wrong way to go about it.

The right way to go about this is to point out that she cannot tell the truth about whatever she’s being asked, be it emails, be it servers, be it Libya, be it Benghazi, be it climate change, be it whatever.  She makes a big deal here saying, “Well, you know and I know classified material is designated.  There’s a header.”  Let me tell you something, folks.  Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills and others in Hillary’s office went through many of the emails that they submitted to the FBI and stripped the headers out.

There are actual emails back and forth from people in Hillary’s office talking about this.  Have you scrubbed the headers?  Did we make sure to get all the headers?  Have we eliminated the headers?  They did this post facto.  They doctored, if you will, they edited classified documents and tried to make them look like they were not classified.

So here comes Mrs. Clinton now saying, “You know, there’s a header so that there’s no dispute at all what’s being communicated.”  They took the headers out of many emails as a way of trying to convey that there wasn’t anything classified.  They did it.  But she’s relying on the fact that nobody’s gonna know this, that the low-information crowd, many of the ordinary American voters are not gonna have any idea.  And she’s probably right about that.

But I can’t let this go by.  They stripped the headers out on I don’t know how many thousands of emails for this express purpose.  They knew, she knew they were classified documents and they were trafficking in them.  She didn’t care.  And that’s why the retired naval lieutenant’s question is crucially important.

RUSH:  Look.  I realize some people in the audience may not know what the header is in an email, but every email has a header.  Most email programs hide them because it’s just a bunch of computer looking gibberish.  It’s the route.  Among many things, it’s the route an email took from the sender to you, all of the various servers and addresses and domains that it bounced off of and was routed through to get to you.  And there’s much more in a header.

Now, they are, by default, not displayed in most email programs.  If you have Apple Mail, if you want, on the Mac, you can display the headers.  I don’t think you can on the iPhone or the iPad.  Maybe the iPad; not sure.  But on your Mac you can, if you want to see it.  And if you’re having email problems, and you have an IT consultant the first thing he’s gonna look at is the header to any problematic emails ’cause it shows the route.  Those are the things, anybody can see them if you know how to activate them.  They’re hidden just ’cause it’s a bunch of junk to the uneducated, uninformed high-tech mind, but if you want to see them you can.

And Hillary — get this.  This was in a June 2011 email. Shows Hillary telling her top adviser, Jake Sullivan, to send security information through insecure means, in response to Hillary’s request for a set of since redacted talking points Sullivan wrote, “They say they’ve had issues sending a secure fax.  They’re working on it.”  Clinton responds if they can’t, turn to a nonpaper with no identifying heading and send nonsecure.”  She was telling them to strip the headers out.  She did this with email.  Send the headers out and send it nonsecured.

She was sending classified data like you and I send emails.  In some cases, it’s a new lie.  And no matter how many times she claims it, paper documents that have been classified are stamped with a rubber stamp marking their classification, but that’s not possible with emails, hence the use of letters and brackets like the C to say confidential or classified.  And then there’s all kinds of emails where she asks the staff to strip the headers out, which would eliminate any sign that there is any classified data within and then send it through a regular channel.

It was not only stripping out the headers, she then proceeded to send secret, eyes only, classified email through regular email.  You wouldn’t have even needed to hack it.  All you would have had to do is know somebody to whom she was sending email and have them forward it to you.  I mean, it was irresponsible, and it is dangerous to boot.

RUSH:  Greetings, my friends.  Welcome back.  Great to have you here.  Rush Limbaugh, serving humanity, executing assigned host duties flawlessly, zero mistakes.  Actually, actually that may not be true.  I may have made a technical mistake moments ago regarding Hillary’s emails because I was misdirected by the staff.  Now, in days gone by, when the staff screwed up, I took the hit.  I mean, I always thought it was a very small public person that blamed invisible staff for his own mistakes.  But I’ve taken so many of these hits over the years that I’ve decided that when the staff is really to blame, then they’re gonna get it.  (laughing)

No, seriously.  Seriously, here, I think I might have mixed up a couple of things.  It doesn’t change the ultimate meaning, but in that Hillary UN speech — played the sound bite from March of 2015 — she was talking about her private email network when she lied.  She said she never emailed classified info.  That I was not wrong about.  She did lie about that.  I mean, famously so.

But the mistake I may have had made — still up for grabs here — was comparing that to prove the lie, comparing that to something she said last night. When she said she emailed classified information, the context she was talking about last night was the official government classified system.

This was in response to the question she got from the retired lieutenant in the Navy, and he had set the parameters by virtue of the question he had asked, and that was government classified documents and the government classified system that everybody uses.  When she said she emailed classified information in that system, that was all true.  That may not constitute a contradiction of what she’d said at the UN.  So I want to make sure I’m expressly clear about that.

The UN speech she was talking about her private server, not the government system.  And still she lied.  I mean, she said that she had never sent classified emails or documents or data on her private network, which she did; but it may not have been necessary to bounce that off and compare it to what she said last night.

Now, about the headers, I’ve had some people say, “Rush, nobody had seen that.  If somebody had seen that Huma Abedin and some other people were stripping headers, that would be big news.”  Well, I’m gonna have to go back.  In my reams of show prep today I was — because I didn’t watch the forum last night, I was racing through all kinds of written material today in the process of prepping the show, and maybe I misunderstood what I saw.

We do know that the circumstance with Jake Sullivan to remove headers in fax, we have one email where she did ask Jake Sullivan to remove headers in a fax and send it over normal email lines.  That did happen one time documented for certain where she told an aide to scrub the headers and then send the email, which the headers again identified it as classified and show you the route that the email took to get where it was going, where it came from and how it got to where it ended up.  It had the markings of various classifications of security in it.

There is one known instance where she did tell somebody to strip those out, and then that email was sent over nonsecured systems.  Now, I’m told that there isn’t any evidence that Huma and others in the office were routinely stripping headers out of emails.  If that’s true, then I stand corrected.  I thought I had seen that this morning where that had happened somewhere.  Maybe I heard somebody talking about.  I don’t know.  I’ve got so many things going on here at one time.  I don’t want to be wrong about this.

RUSH: I could swear I either heard that or saw that today, but I’m being told, nope, only that one time that you talked about with Jake Sullivan.

What is probably far more likely that happened here is that the Clinton office routinely transmitted information that they knew was classified either from reading classified documents or attending briefings.  They appear to have done this thousands of times, routinely transmitted information they knew was classified.  There’s no question, I don’t think, that they did this.

She’s a security risk out the wazoo.  She’s arrogant. She is above it all. She doesn’t think much of the classification system. She probably thinks a bunch of things that were said to be classified and secure really shouldn’t have been, and “I’m not gonna take the time, and I’m not gonna put my staff through all the hoops.  I need to send this to somebody, and I’m gonna send it, to hell with it,” because she’s above it all.  She’s not gonna be held accountable.  And Comey didn’t.  Boy, is that looking even more and more curious.

Now, most of the time when Mrs. Clinton emailed classified information she was not emailing an actual classified document.  She was emailing, just like you would email with anybody else, she was passing along information she knew to be classified.  This is an important distinction to make.  And this is one of her outs, by the way, “I never sent classified information.  I never knowingly passed on.”  No.  You just took the classified information and you trafficked in it.  That is what they do.

Let’s say I had a security clearance and I attended a classified briefing at which I was told we’re sending ground troops into Aleppo tomorrow being led by Gary Johnson. A classified briefing, and that’s what I am told.  Now, let’s say I leave the briefing and I come back here to the EIB Southern Command and I get on my email system and I send to my brother, “You’re not gonna believe this, you’re not gonna believe this, we are going to send ground troops into Aleppo tomorrow, and Gary Johnson, of the Libertarian party, is the commanding officer.”

That’s what she did.  She got a classified document or she got a classified briefing, she collected the information.  She’s unable to keep a secret.  It’s as simple as that.  The actual classified documents themselves, not a whole lot of that being trafficked.

Now, when she did that — let’s continue to use me.  Let’s say I go to a classified briefing and I hear that we’re gonna invade Aleppo with commanding officer Gary Johnson of the Libertarian party.  I come back, I send an email to my brother, “David, you’re not gonna believe this.” I’m not gonna write “classified” on it.  I’m not gonna say, “Hey, I got classified news for you.”  I’m just gonna pass it along.  It’s gossip.  Except this isn’t gossip.  This is classified briefing information that she received, but she’s now passing it on like people pass on gossip.

She’s been caught doing this.  And now they’re out there, “No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.  I never sent anything classified.  No, no, no, no, no, I never sent classified documents.”  That’s where the rub is here.  So she didn’t put “classified” on these emails where she’s passing along classified information.  And she’s not gonna create headers with big, bold font indicating “what I’m writing here is classified,” but there’s still no doubt in this scenario, I have unlawfully transmitted classified information, even though there were no markings in the email that I sent my brother.

And that’s what’s happened here.  And I think that may be the best way to explain this to people who are having trouble getting their arms around it and understanding why it’s such a big deal.  “I don’t understand, so what?”  Well, it’s just like what you do when you send gossip around except this isn’t gossip, and she’s secretary of state.  She’s sending around government secrets to mention, and these are foreign leaders.  Who knows how she’s using this stuff to solicit donations to the Clinton Foundation.  She’s taking American classified information and trafficking in it, for her benefit one way or the other.  That’s essentially, when you boil this all down, what this is about.

RUSH: Let me mention one more thing about all of this email stuff with Hillary, because, folks, it has been going on for so long, and there are so many different terms being used and allegations flying that I think it’s long ago gone way beyond the ability for most people in a casual way to understand it, and the casual presentation is what’s necessary.

This is not hard to understand.  It is being purposefully complicated or muddied purposely by the Clinton camp and her advocates to make it appear like it’s so in the weeds that it’s not even worth the time to understand it, because even if you did, there’s nothing to see here.  And it’s just the opposite.  This is a profound irresponsibility that she engaged in.

This is activity and behavior that put the country at risk. It was arrogant behavior. It was behavior that she thought she was above and not accountable for, and it’s the kind of thing that people have gone to jail for, as the retired naval lieutenant said to her in his question at the forum last night in New York City.

So the simplest way to understand what this is is don’t get caught up in believing that Hillary Clinton saw a document that said “classified, top secret, eyes only,” and was sending it all over the place.  It happened, but not nearly enough to warrant all this.  Instead what she was doing, it all boils down to having this private server to be able to act in ways that nobody could learn.  She wanted to be able to shield everything she was doing from public eyes.  Freedom of Information Act requests.  Because what she was doing and the way she is using this private server would not stand the light of scrutiny.

She was trading on her high government position and selling access to her using her government position, using these private servers and email accounts to do it.  She was selling access to herself while secretary of state — that’s what pay-for-play means — she was also raising money for the Clinton Foundation, which is really just a scheme to enrich the Clintons and all of the family and friends who work there and thus get paid by it, all the travel and entertainment expenses.

I mean, the charitable donations they never talk about from the Clinton Foundation ’cause there aren’t very many.  When you talk about something like the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation, you donate a dollar, 99 cents gets donated.  If you donate a dollar to the Clinton Foundation, nowhere near 99 cents gets donated.  It’s something like 30 cents does, if that.  She was using her position as secretary of state, a cabinet-level position, for personal enrichment and selling government access, in addition to selling access to her future presidency.

That’s why hundreds of millions, tens of millions of dollars have been donated to the Clintons, because the people giving the money figure she’s gonna be president someday, and they are getting dibs on policy, on the come.  That’s why she can’t drop out. She has to try to win this.  What are they gonna do with that money if she loses?  It’s thus been wasted.

So it stinks.  It is ethical violation after ethical violation after ethical violation.  It’s an impeachment offense if she’s still in office and may be an impeachable offense even now.  It’s that serious.  But it’s important to understand exactly what she was doing.  There’s two things — to make it real simple here — she was not receiving actual documents. Well, she was receiving them, classified, eyes only, top secret, whatever was stamped on ’em, whatever the email markings were.  She was not actually sending those documents out routinely and regularly, couple times, but what she was doing was trafficking in information, and this was how she was soliciting.

She would receive classified information.  That’s eyes only, ears only, it’s really tight.  Not everybody knows it.  It’s, therefore, worth a lot to a whole lot of people, who are willing to pay for it.  So how does she sell it?  Well, the way she sells it, she accepts a donation, she accepts a stipend or whatever to her foundation, or to her presidential campaign.

In exchange, she takes the classified information that she’s learned either from a briefing or from a series of documents and just passes it on.  But she doesn’t tell anybody in an email. She’ll just send an email from her private server.  In my example, she goes to a briefing, she’s been told we’re gonna invade Aleppo tomorrow, Gary Johnson is the commanding general. Okay that’s private, super-secret worthwhile information both to people in Aleppo and at ISIS and wherever, in the Middle East.

So she’s got clients, she’s got donors, she’s got whatever in the Middle East that would love to know that.  She gets the information in a classified briefing, composes an email like you and I would compose an email, sends an email back to one of her donors or whoever else and says, “Wouldn’t it be funny if tomorrow there’s an invasion by Aleppo by Captain Gary Johnson” or whatever.  She doesn’t write that she’s trafficking in classified information.  She just is acting like she is super powerful and in-the-know and is kind of psst, psst, guess what I just learned?

She’s trafficking in classified information.  She’s trafficking in top secret stuff.  Not the actual documents.  She’s learning it, and, because she’s been willing to take donations on the basis of sharing it, people pay for it.  It really isn’t complicated.  And this is what’s been going on.  That’s why so many people are paying so much attention is because it’s atrocious.  And for the FBI to say that we couldn’t find any intent?  The private server is the intent.  The effort to hide what she’s doing is the intent.

I know what that was about.  The FBI director did not want to be the guy in all of American history known for taking action that eliminated the Democrat Party’s presidential nominee in the year 2016 and that it was Hillary Clinton’s an added problem.  “I don’t want to be the guy.”

So he goes, he has his press conference and he details everything she did and leaves it up to the voters as the jury to try the case with the election being the trial, rather than recommend she be indicted.  She wasn’t gonna be indicted anyway no matter what Comey did because the DOJ and Loretta Lynch were never gonna indict her anyway. They aren’t gonna send a Democrat to the gallows over this.  This is how they traffic.

Now, one other thing just to bring this home, because you’re gonna hear her say, or you may remember her saying, “I’ve never trafficked in classified information. I took it very seriously. I would not knowingly, who, me?  Why, I love America, why, no, I wouldn’t do that.”  Okay, we need to find an easy way to expose her as lying on that.

And the way to do it is this:  Any official, secretary of state, undersecretary of state, third tertiary undersecretary for public affairs state, anybody, any public official who has a security clearance, but especially a high-ranking official like Hillary, secretary of state has the authority to designate anything as classified.  It’s not that she’s just a recipient. Anything she’s dealing with, with the security clearance that she had, she could designate anything as classified.

Okay, well, then you might ask, “Well, what gets classified and what doesn’t?”  Well, she is expected to know that.  There are certain categories of information that are basically presumed to be classified.  And you and I would know what they are.  They’re national secrets.  Anything that’s a national secret, anything that if somebody knew it, would put somebody or something or the country at risk.  And when you’re secretary of state, pretty much anything should be classified.  There are things you are not supposed to talk about. There are things you are not supposed to transmit, and particularly on a nonsecure system, which hers was.

Everything she was doing was on an unsecure personal system.  She had to know that if her emails referred to any of these categories of classification, whether they were marked or not, they were classified.  She had to know.  She’s the smartest woman in the world.  She’s more qualified to be president than anybody who’s ever been president, said Obama.  She more qualified than him.  She’s more qualified than Bill.  George Washington, FDR, she’s been the smartest woman in the world for 30 years.  You know, she plays this ignorance card or this victim card, the sympathy card.  “I didn’t know.  Nobody told me.  I didn’t know.”

Obama even issued an executive order outlining these categories.  And I’m holding here in my formerly nicotine-stained fingers the relevant section.  It is section 1.4, classification categories.  And it’s exactly what anybody with any measure of common sense would think.  Let me briefly read it to you.

“Information shall not be considered for classification unless it’s unauthorized disclosure could reasonably be expected to cause identifiable or describable damage to the national security in accordance with section 1.2.  It pertains to one or more of the following.”

Are you ready?  Here are the categories:  military plans, weapons systems or operations, foreign government information, intelligence activities, including covert, like what the spies are doing, intelligence sources or methods, cryptology, anything encrypted, foreign relations, scientific, technological or economic matters relating to national security.

This is all common sense stuff, and Obama issued an executive order defining the categories.  She’s out there claiming ignorance or unawareness or whatever.  She’s saying (imitating Hillary), “I didn’t know that. C? I thought that was for paragraph C.  Well, there weren’t any markings, it didn’t say ‘classified’ anywhere on it.”  Well, that’s because it’s not necessary.  Anybody at her level of government would understand for the most part it all is.  And she was trafficking in it anyway.

The scope of the lying here is broader than anything she has ever lied about.  You add Benghazi to this, the lie about the video and the lie about what caused it and the lie about everything, I mean, it’s almost incalculable, the scope and the potential danger and the ramifications of the lying this woman routinely engages in, but particularly in these areas of national security, it’s just astounding.  And all of this is getting lost as it gets complicated and tied up in exclusive language that diplomats use and security officials use.  And you finally say, “I’m tired of it, I don’t want to hear any more, leave me alone.”  It’s not that hard to understand.

RUSH: Hillary Clinton last night in a commander-in-chief forum moderated by Matt Lauer of the Today Show during the Q&A a former Air Force intelligence analyst Pam Campos said, “You’ve had an extensive record with military intervention.  How do you respond to progressives like me –” that means lib “– who worry and have concerns that your hawkish foreign policy will continue.  What is your plan to end wasteful war campaigns in which our peers, service women and men continue to be killed and wounded?”

HILLARY:  Well, I assume you’re talking about Iraq because of my vote and you probably are talking about Libya because of the role that I played in the administration’s decision about whether to take on Khadafy.

RUSH:  It’s not what she’s talking about.

HILLARY:  In respect Libya, again, there’s no difference between my opponent and myself.  He’s on record extensively supporting intervention in Libya when Khadafy was threatening to massacre his population.  I put together a coalition that included NATO, included the Arab League, and we were able to save lives.  We did not lose a single American in that action.

RUSH:  Now, she’s a talking about the operation to take out Moammar Khadafy.  We didn’t lose a single American, but we did in Benghazi, and that is Libya.  We lost four Americans on her watch.  Now, she’s not specifically talking that. She’s talking about the actual operation to get rid of Khadafy.  But that’s not what she was asked.

Stop and think.  Here is a progressive, a profound, deep leftist who is a former Air Force intelligence analyst.  That scares me right there.  I know these people are everywhere, but, I mean, to face it like this, Air Force intelligence analyst, former, Pam Campos, she’s not asking Hillary about Libya.  She’s asking Hillary about Iraq. These people think Hillary Clinton is a warmonger.  They think Hillary Clinton is a hawk.  To them, to some of these kooks she’s no different than George W. Bush because she voted to go into Iraq.  So she, knowing full well that’s what the question is starts talking about how (imitating Hillary), “Yeah, we went and we got rid of Khadafy, I did it and we didn’t lose anybody.  Nobody died.”  Interesting they’re not happy with her.
