RUSH: We have some news from academe, folks. On Monday, a nine-week program starts at Duke University to destabilize masculine privilege.

Male students are being recruited, or, as the University website puts it, “male-identified or masculine-of-center students” are being recruited. The application asks recruits to list their preferred gender. The program is targeting men, but what they end up with is apparently a roll of the dice. The sessions are going to be held at the Duke’s Women’s Center, whose mission is to resist patriarchal oppression. Participants will interrogate their masculinity to learn how toxic it is.

The name of the program: Duke University Men’s Project. That’s right, D.U.M.P., which is where this belongs. Now, there is some good news from academe. A University of Tampa professor was fired after saying Texas deserved Hurricane Harvey because they voted Republican. His name is Kenneth Storey, sociology professor. He tweeted, “I don’t believe in instant karma, but this kind of feels like it for Texas. Hopefully, this will help ’em realize the GOP doesn’t care about them.” Well, he’s been dumped.

A Georgia high school teacher is gone after kicking two students out of class for wearing Trump T-shirts. The math teacher, Lyn Orletsky, told the kids, “Just like you can’t wear a swastika to school, you can’t wear ‘Make America Great’ shirts like that.” And now she’s been dumped. Two dumped? Many more to go, hopefully.
