RUSH: For years, I have asked: Why is it that the federal government is never asked to make do with less? Finally, there’s a good chance some government agencies might actually have to! And this is going to cause a near nuclear explosion. You watch.
RUSH: It's like these guys haven't changed. I mean, they look 72. There's no mistaking that. But they still have the energy of 24-, 25-year-olds. It's just fascinating.
RUSH: None of this makes any common sense, because anti-Semitism is rampant again in Europe. And yet the Jewish people you're talking about here in America, the Jewish liberals, it doesn't seem to be a factor in them determining what side of issues they're gonna fall down on.
RUSH: Obama's not publicly saying anything. He doesn't have to. But I think Trump's exactly right.
RUSH: Is this not amazing that the Democrats are inviting refugees and illegal immigrants in an attempt to embarrass Trump? Can you believe this? You want to talk about a people out of touch? I hope Trump hears about this and has ICE agents waiting right outside the chamber door. (interruption) Yeah, you can quote me.
RUSH: We have a guy on the phone here from San Luis Obispo, California. He claims to be one of the paid activists.
RUSH: The Washington establishment — both parties, doesn't matter — can't believe Trump won. They have no desire that Trump succeed. They don't want any reforming of government in any way, shape, manner or form.
RUSH: Why is anybody surprised by any of this? Trump was as open as any politician's ever been about his agenda. Five times a day, he's making speeches at rallies, and he's telling anybody who will listen what he's gonna do.
RUSH: Where has this guy been the last 30 years? He's the official presidential historian and he thinks that just happened? He thinks there's all of a sudden a conservative media led by me, recently, that Trump glommed onto and is "tracking" and is using to win elections and build support and divide the nation?
RUSH: There is no way the Russians could have determined the outcome of voting. Trump or his people talking to the Russians during the campaign – for which there is no evidence, even if that happened — how in the world does that affect who voted, where they voted and who counted the votes? It doesn't! It's impossible.
RUSH: "A state senator, Josh Green, has introduced a bill to classify homelessness as a medical condition." This guy's a doctor.
RUSH: Did you know that last Sunday was Eating Disorder Awareness Day? Well, I didn't, either.
RUSH: I have a piece today that I found in the New Yorker. When I started reading this I said, "This is very clever. This guy's very clever." I kept reading it and kept reading it, and I said, "Wait a minute. Does this guy actually maybe believe this?"
RUSH: There's a tradition at these things and what do you bet this tradition does not survive?
RUSH: No longer is this just gonna be a long list of stories that I might mention on the program. Now, you will get specifically the stories that I talk about on the program and a select list of a few others that I intended to get to but ran out of time. It's going to be more of a real-time base feature rather than just a generic list of places that I go to prep the show.
RUSH: The endless tirades from hard-core liberal actors have turned off millions of their former customers. Hollywood is totally disconnected from much of its audience.
CALLER: You know what? She had this opinion of everybody that, you know, loved me, loved my grandchildren, loved my family. And she said, "This man has enough compassion to want to help children," and it just changed her whole, complete attitude.
RUSH: Martin Luther King, I'll tell you what he said, that hate is too great a burden to bear, because hate burns fast. You can't build a movement on the smoldering ashes of hate, because there's never any redress. Once you start hating, you don't want to stop. It's what animates you; it's what informs you; it's what gives you your meaning in life.
RUSH: You want me to replicate some of the pessimism that's out there? I'll show you what's out there. (impression) "Well, really. So we can't do tax reform 'til we replace Obamacare, and it's clear that the Republicans in the House don't want to replace Obamacare? So we're never gonna get tax reform either, Rush! What do you say to that?" I know some of you are dialing the phone even now to tell me that. We shall see.
