RUSH: Here is Ann in Rochester, New York. Great to have you up first today. How are you?

CALLER: Hi, Rush. I’m really good. How are you?

RUSH: Fine. Thanks much.

CALLER: I’ve been listening to you since 1988, right from the beginning.

RUSH: You’re a lifer.

CALLER: You are part of my family.

RUSH: Thank you very much, ma’am. I appreciate that.

CALLER: It’s amazing. I remember, I can even tell back when your ears were having problems, I thought, “What’s up with Rush?” I remember saying to people, like you were a friend of mine, “What’s up with Rush?” And I just really, really appreciate your input over the years.

RUSH: Well, thank you. Look, I understand your point there. I feel the same way in reverse. It’s familial here. Really, there’s a bond here. I get it totally.

CALLER: It really is. My daughter came into the basement. I work at home in my basement, I do reupholstery and furniture restoration, and she said, “Oh, I’ve been hearing that guy for so many years for my whole life.” She’s not a Rush fan at all, none of my children are, but —

RUSH: Well, that means you’ve not done a good job. You need to have done better than that.

CALLER: I’m telling you, I’m trying. They’ll say, “Why do you listen to him?” I said, “Because I want to know all the different points of view. I listen to everybody else too. I want a good, rounded –” this is one thing I have really drilled into my children, don’t listen to somebody else’s view about someone else. You listen to them, not what someone else is saying.

RUSH: Can’t argue with that.

CALLER: No, you can’t. But, anyway, listening just now, the fact that there’s no answers is my point. There’s no answers for so many of these issues that the left champions. There’s no answer for the fact that people are gonna die. What an easy one there. People are gonna die if we lose Obamacare. Of course people are gonna die anyway. There’s an easy one.

RUSH: Climate change.

CALLER: Climate change.

RUSH: You know what —

CALLER: Climate change —

RUSH: And this is a brilliant point. I’ve said it my own way, but you’re saying it differently here, that all of these issues the left goes for, none of them can be fixed. There isn’t any solution to any of them, which — I have to expand on that. I’m out of time here, but I have to expand.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: You know, the point that our previous caller made, I’ve made it in my own way a number of different times, but the way she said this, the left always has their issues. They are things that can never really get fixed, things that really don’t have a governmental solution. She mentioned health care. But she included climate change in it. If you stop and think about it, she is exactly right.

Now, in the case of climate change, they claim we can fix it but that we won’t know long after all the people alive today are dead, or most of us. They never forecast the calamities to occur within our lifetimes. The sea level rise — see, this is one of the great contradictions, too, by the way. The sea level rise, the ice cap melting, all of these horrible things are 30 years down the road, in some cases 50 years down the road. And that’s done purposefully, since so many will not be around to know whether they were right or wrong.

But then while they tell us that all of this coming catastrophe, then a hurricane hits, “See? See? See? It’s happening.” Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. You say it’s 30, 40, 50 years from now. “Yeah, but it’s a hurricane. See? See?” See what? Hurricanes are no different today than they’ve ever been, except that there are fewer of them. “But they’re worse than ever.” No. No. No. They’re not.

Gun control is another classic.
