RUSH: The Reverend Jesse Jackson has weighed in on the NFL protests. It’s a take that only he could come up with because he’s dead wrong about everything.

On a Fox Sports 1 panel discussion, Jackson accused the NFL of committing illegal “workplace harassment.” Because the NFL allows owners to cut National Anthem protesters without having to pay out the full contract, unlike Major League Baseball and the NBA.

And there’s no question in his mind  that Colin Kaepernick was the victim of collusion, since he hasn’t been picked up by another team. Reverend Jackson took issue with the Star Spangled Banner itself, because it was written by a slave owner, and has offensive lyrics in one of the verses.

But the kicker is this quote, from the Reverent Jackson: “To go from picking cotton balls to picking footballs and basketballs without freedom is not very much progress”.

Now, I don’t know how many football or basketball players picked cotton balls before being signed by professional sports teams  but I’d guess not very many.

The larger point is this. If Jesse Jackson is correct in his claim that protesting football players don’t have freedom that they are just as oppressed as slaves picking cotton were two centuries ago, while they earn millions more than average Americans, then the entire civil rights movement has been a total bust. With him leading it.
